Frozen! makeup look

Seeing as how my part of Tennessee has been under an ice storm for the past 12 hours,
I figured it was only appropriate to do a look based off of
Elsa from Frozen.

I know basically everyone has already created this look,
but I haven't.
So.
I gave it a go.

Here's my wearable, Elsa makeup look:

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance

BFTE's 'Last Call' &, Urban Decay's 'Alchemy' & 'Vanity',
and Sleek's 'Flump' & 'Sugarlite'- inner/outer corners

Sleek's 'Parma Violet'- crease

SYN Cosmetics' 'Trance'- middle of lid

SYN Cosmetics' 'Case'- lower lash line

L'Oreal Butterfly Intenza mascara & Younique 3D lash mascara- lashes

Tinkerbell Inspired

Today is my daughter's 2nd birthday!
She's in love with fairies,
so naturally we are having a fairy themed birthday party for her.
In honor of that, I decided to play around with a fun little Tinkerbell inspired look.

This looked much cooler in person than on here.
You could see the full effect of the dusted green on my cheeks
& around my eyes.
It just looked better, humph.

Here's a super crappy pic of the mediocre design I did on my cheeks:

This design was fairy-like to me?
Eh, they're not symmetrical at all on both cheeks
(which drives me crazy),
but it was just for fun.

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
BFTE's 'Envy'- dusting around eyes/face
Victorian Disco 'Yoda's Yoga Mat' - browbone
UD's 'Damaged ', Sugarpill's 'Midori ', & BFTE's 'Green Apple '- crease
 VD's 'The Fett'- outer crease
Lime Crime's 'Seahorse Discourse '- lid
UD's 'Stash'- inner corners
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

Face: UD 24/7 Eyeliner in 'Graffiti'
& Lime Crime's Uniliner in 'Lunar Sea'

I also at one point attempted to use my UD Heavy Metal gold glitter eyeliner
in the inner corners of my lids too, if you see some weird, dark area in the first picture.
That didn't translate well, either.
Sweet.

All in all,
I actually really liked this.
It was fun and whimsical.
What do you think?
How would you have done a Tinkerbell look?

PCC- 'Pixie Dusk'

Tired of the fairy polishes yet?
Don't worry, there's still 2 more :)
Here's 1 coat of 'Fairy Dusk' over 2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'Candy Coated'.

'Fairy Dusk' is a "pale lavender crelly with a gold sparkle and filled with gold and lavender glitter. There's hints of holo in here, too :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Crelly
Formula: Eh. It got clumpy realllly fast, after barely being used :/
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Eh.
Price: $8.50 on their Etsy
Get This: their Etsy site

This polish looked fantastic over 'Candy Coated'.
I like how 'Fairy Dusk' looks once on, especially the subtle gold shimmer.
However, I did NOT love the consistency of it :(
Not sure why it was so clumpy; none of the other PCC polishes i've tried have been that way.
Either way, it's a cute polish with a super cute name!

PCC- 'Pixie Dust'

Today's fairy polish is my favorite from the 5 that I bought from Pop Culture Cosmetics.
Here's 1 coat of 'Pixie Dust' over 2 coats of Zoya's 'Miley'.

'Pixie Dust' is a "milky crelly... filled with iridescent and pastel colored glitters in various sizes and shapes, including adorable little stars and hearts!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Crelly
Formula: Good!!
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: Great
Price: $8.00 for a full size on their website, $8.50 on their Etsy

I really love the whimsical nature about this polish.
The iridescent glitter is my favorite.
It looks adorable on a neutral or bare nail,
but I really liked it best over the soft 'Miley' :)
What do you think?

PCC- 'Think Tink'

So here's another cute fairy polish for you today from my recent Pop Culture Cosmetics haul.
This is the most Disney fairy-esque polish in my eyes.
Here's 3 coats of 'Think Tink'!

'Think Tink' is a pastel lime green crelly filled with differently sized green & gold glitter (some holo), gold stars, and a gold shimmer. It's really lovely, and reminds me much of Tink's green outfit. This was my daughter's (who's 2) favorite one of the five :)

NOPI's 'Tink's in the Pink'

I have the other NOPI polish from the Tink Collection for you today.
(see the first one here).
Here's 2 coats of 'Tink's in the Pink'.

'Tink's in the Pink' is a medium pink creme.
I my have a polish or two very similar to this color,
but I don't mind.
NOPI brushes are some of my favorite out there,
and application was super easy-
not to mention the name & theme was just too cute to pass up.

Just a forewarning,
you'll be seeing a lot of Fairy posts in the near future!
My 2 year old daughter is obsessed with them,
so i've really been on the lookout for anything Fairy (beauty or not).
Maybe it's just because i'm more aware of them,
but I sure feel like i've been seeing Fairy EVERYTHING lately!

NOPI- 'How Fairy Nice of You!'

So in my post yesterday,
you saw that I scooped up two new polishes from Nicole by OPI that are Tinkerbell themed.
My toddler daughter is obsessed with fairies,
(in fact, that's the theme of her 2nd birthday this year)
so I had to grab a couple of the polishes.

Here's 2 coats of one of them, 'How Fairy Nice of You!'
*shade*
*sunlight-ish*

'How Fairy Nice of You' is a lovely baby pink creme,
& part of NOPI's Summer 2013 Tink Collection.
It's been awhile since I used any polish by NOPI for some reason,
and I forgot how much I really like the width and length of their brushes.
They're short and wide, just like my nails :x
So it really makes application easy peasy.

What do you guys think of this polish & of NOPI's new collection?

Mini Drugstore Haul

So I finally made a much anticipated trip to my local Walgreens,
and picked up a few great goodies:

Wooo!
My goal was to find some of the new Wet N Wild trios,
and I decided on these two (they were out of the other one I would have gotten, humph).
First up is 'Your 15 Minutes Aren't Up!'

*swatched without primer*

Odd name for a trio, but the shadows look pretty good.

Next is 'I'm Seeing Triples!'
*swatched without primer*

These are a bit bolder, and also look promising.
Both trios are mattes.
Stay tuned for looks and a review of them in the near future!

Also,
my daughter is almost 2 and OBSESSED with anything fairies.
SO, when I say NOPI had a Tinkerbell collection,
I obviously had to buy at least a couple.

Two very tame, lovely pinks by the looks of it.
I'll have a full post and swatches of at least one of these bad boys tomorrow :)

What do you guys think?
What have your experiences been with the new Wet N Wild trios?
Let me know! :)

e.l.f. Maleficiant palette review!

Good morning :)
I'm finally getting around to my review of one of the popular e.l.f Disney Villians palettes!
Sorry for the delay. I've been trying to get in some good Fall and Halloween posts before the season passes me by!

Ok, so to begin this review, if you have no idea what this palette is,
see my post on its basics and swatches here.

I'll continue this post with the understanding that my readers are aware of what it offers!

First, i'll show you the two looks I created.
I created them based on the directions suggested in the palette.
Here's the suggested day time look:

Now for the suggested nighttime look:

I did both of these looks awhile ago, and am not pleased with either of them, but particularly the second look. Why? See below.

Pros
- pretty assortment of shadows
- comes with eye primer
- awesomely colored lip/cheek pencils
- suggestions on how/where to apply makeup for the everyday person
- cheap! Just $10 at my local drugstore

Cons
- horrible shadow pigmentation
- extremely hard to blend
- fake lashes super hard to use for someone who doesn't usually use them
- doesn't come with mascara

VERDICT:
Though priced affordably, the old saying "you get what you pay for" totally applies to this palette. I love the idea of creating palettes based on the Disney Villians, but the quality of these shadows just isn't great. There are a few glimmers of hope (like with the primer, pencils, and some of the shadows) but all in all- it's a flop, in my opinion. Especially for those of you who don't have much practice with blending, this sucker will prove to be challenging.

NOW, that being said- if you don't plan on blending and just want to do something simple by wearing 1 or 2 shadows at a time- i think this palette could work for you. It DOES come with a good primer and some great lip/cheek pencils, so at least that can buffer the low quality shadows. For only being $10, I didn't expect prestige cosmetic quality, but I was still disappointed with the results. Honestly, I will probably never use anything from this palette again :/ I'm temped to buy the other two palettes just to see if they're the same way. I'll keep you posted!

Do any of you have these palettes?
What are your thoughts?
Did you guys find this review helpful??
Let me know, please!
