My Little Pony makeup series- Fluttershy

I've got another installment in my My Little Pony makeup series for you today
(see the first one here).
Today's look is based off of Fluttershy:

She represents the element of kindness,
so I wanted the look I created for her to not only use her colors,
but be soft and gentle as well.

Here's what I came up with!

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'El Dorado' & 'Midnight Cowboy'- inner half of lid
UD's 'Hot Pants'- outer part of lid
Sleek's 'Pout' & Sugarpill's 'Dollipop'- crease
SYN Cosmetics' 'Audacious'- highlight
Lime Crime's 'Circus Girl'- lower lash line
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

Easter look! (revisited)

Hey everyone,
about a year ago ( when my blog was still in its infancy),
I created a look for Easter using yellow, white, & pink.
Now that the holiday is again approaching & my skill set has increased a bit,
I figured i'd revisit it!

The idea here was to create something light, simple, & delicate.
It's a color combo I wouldn't usually do,
but I really like it.
It's happy! :)

I used a ridiculous amount of shadows to accomplish this
because I just couldn't seem to quit adding,
but it can easily be accomplished with just 3 or 4 of them.

I USED:
UD's 'Polyester Bride' & unnamed white metallic ULTA shadow- inner corner
unnamed ULTA yellow shadow & unnamed yellow from Sephora palette- middle lid
unnamed ULTA pink shadow & UD's 'Sphynx'- outer lid
UD's 'Tainted'- crease
UD's 'Vanilla'- brow bone

What do you guys think?
Thanks for reading! :)

Lush Lacquer- 'Gumballs'

Hey!
Super quickly,
Here's 3 coats of Lush Lacquer's 'Gumballs'!

'Gumballs' is a milky, peach-colored base with matte neon pink, neon yellow, green, blue, and purple hexagonal  differently sized glitters throughout.
I used it on it's own because it's pretty easy to reach opacity.
What do you think of LL's new look? Also, in case you haven't noticed, LL has some awesome new glitters out for summer! :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Lush Lacquer
Type: Glitter
Formula: Pretty good, slightly more gloopy than I would have liked
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good!
Price:  $9

What do you guys think of this polish?
I like that it's unlike any other polish I have right now,
especially with the peach base.
The neon glitters are also more subtle than typical neons,
so I feel they give the look a more Spring than Summer look to it,
and I like that.

Easter egg stamping

Hey again everyone.
Hope your weekend has been awesome!
I have some silly stamping for you all today.
I'm not great at stamping,
but i've been really anxious to use some of the designs from my new Winstonia plates.

I used the same mani from yesterday because I really liked it as a background.
Here are some uneven little Easter eggs using plate W105 :)

So no matter how many times I tried,
I just could NOT get all of the egg stamp to transfer well.
Humph.
The plates are amazing, though :)

That's it for today.
I have an Easter look for you guys tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Watercolor Easter nail art

Hellooooooo.
I don't often do nail art because, quite frankly, i'm not that great at it.
I love pastels, though, and have been looking for a way to use them together.
I've considered doing a splatter mani,
but with Easter coming up, i thought about dying Easter eggs...
and that brought me to the idea of sponging different colors on.
The effect reminded me of how we used to dye our Easter eggs,
but it also reminds me of watercolor paint, too.

Here I just tore a makeup sponge apart, and used one piece per polish.
It didn't come out EXACTLY as I had intended,
but I still like it.

I used (all from Sugar Rush collection):
'Unicorn'
'Sugar Rush'
'Candy Coated'
'Cotton Candy'

What do you guys think of it?
Does it look more like dyed Easter eggs or watercolor?
Thanks for reading!

It's taken me longer than I wanted to post all of them,
but there you have it :X

'Cotton Candy' is a lovely, bubblegum pink creme with slight shimmer.
I'm a sucker for light pinks like this,
and the shade really is just lovely.

nail/beauty mail & SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Candy Coated'

Hello everyone.
Sorry for the lack of posts lately,
been a super busy past several days.

First up,
I bought my first Lime Crime palette the other day,
and it came in! yay!
Here are the swatches over Too Faced's Shadow Insurance:

Also,
it's been a long time since i've bought any new stamping plates.
After seeing them on Makeup Withdrawal's IG,
I purchased my first Winstonia plates!

The box was a little beat up, but everything arrived okay.
Here are my favorites :)
Yay! Can't wait to try these out.

Finally,
here's the second to last polish from Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection-
'Candy Coated'.

'Candy Coated' is a lovely lilac creme with subtle shimmer. I'm so in love with shades of purple like this for Spring this year. So delicate and happy :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Pretty good!
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore like Walgreens or big super markets like Walmart

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Sugar Rush'

Alright, finally time for the polish that bears the collection's name:
'Sugar Rush'!
Here's 3 coats.
It was cloudy today so the picture is rather lackluster :/

'Sugar Rush' is a beautiful, baby boy blue creme- no shimmer again in this one, either.
This sucker looks eerily similar to another SC polish... does it not?
....

The shade of blue is pretty much the exact same thing as in SC's 'Cinderella'.
However, the latter is of course a jelly with shimmer/micro glitter.
I think I like the creme variation of this color better, personally.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Okay, a little on the thin side
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Not that great; super streaky.
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore

What do you think?
Do you like 'Sugar Rush' or 'Cinderella' better?

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Unicorn'

Hey everyone- back to Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection today.
This polish's name makes the least sense in the context of the collection,
but it's still nice :)

Here's 2 coats of 'Unicorn'.

'Unicorn' is a delicate, pastel yellow creme. No slight shimmer in this one, either.
I typically do not like yellows on my hands because I think it often makes my nails look sickly, but this shade of yellow was juuuuuust on the cusp- it's a lovely shade!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Eh, much more thin & runny than the others :/
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Not that great; super streaky. You need AT LEAST 3 coats to reach opacity.
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore

What do you guys think?
Let me know! :)

Hey guys,
super short post today because I am in a hurry :o
Here's 2 coats of 'Sweet Nothing'.

'Sweet Nothing' is a medium teal creme. No shimmer in this one (some in the collection do, some don't). This is the only color in the entire collection that I don't like. Just not my thing, personally.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Okay, but a little thick & gloopy.
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore

Thanks for reading!

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Orange Cream'

First off, CONGRATS to 'Claws Up' for winning my 'hidden' giveaway!

For those of you who didn't notice,
I placed a link to a giveaway at the very end of this recent post.
I gave away the WHOLE Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection.
I wanted to give it to people that were loyal followers, however,
so you actually had to read to the bottom of the post to see it.
It was very eye- opening how few people take the time to read posts,
and i'll definitely be doing more giveaways like that in the future.
So, all is not lost if you missed out on this one.

Anyway,
here's yet another amazing polish from SC's Sugar Rush collection.
I am SO feeling the pastels right now.
This is 2 coats of 'Orange Cream'!

* Please excuse my index finger. Something (we think exzema) is breaking out on it, and skin is just peeling back like crazy. it's totally gross, but will hopefully be better soon. Sorry!

'Orange Cream' is a lovely pastel orange creme with very slight shimmer.
It totally lives up to it's name.
I don't have another polish of this color, & I LOVE it.
It's really inspiring me do to some makeup looks with pastels :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Okay, but a little thick & gloopy.
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore

What do you guys think?
What is your favorite polish from the Sugar Rush collection?

Sugar Rush.
Every polish in the collection looks just perfect & I can't wait to get to them all :)

First up is 'Sweet Tooth'. Here's 2 coats!

'Sweet Tooth' is a lovely lavender with pink undertones & a very pretty, slight shimmer!
(^ which doesn't show up on camera well, unfortunately- but still pretty!)
I'm becoming increasingly obsessed with purples lately...

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme (?)
Formula: Pretty good, though a little thick.
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good!
Price:  $1.99

What do you guys think?
I absolutely love this color.
Stay tuned tomorrow for more swatches!

Easter eggs!

Happy Easter night!
I know this is my second post today, but it's technically my 1st since the post earlier was on a mani i'd done a couple days ago... O_o

Anyway, I love pastel colors, so I've been excited about having an excuse to use a LOT of them due to the Easter holiday.
Tonight I tried a little Easter mani,
though I like it better before I attempted the nail art :/
Even so, I shall show you anyway!

*indoor, no flash
** prior to nail art

So clearly I still need to do loads of practice when it comes to the dotting tool... but I rather like my middle & ring finger :p It looks completely amateur obviously, but that's what I am when it comes to nail art... and practice makes perfect! (or so they say)
Besides, my favorite part about this was the polishes I used, not the art :)

I used:
NOPI's 'Ladies in the Limelight' as base on thumb
NOPI's 'One Big Happy Fame-ily' on pointer
Zoya's 'Kylie' as base on middle
China Glaze's 'Re-Fresh Mint' on ring
Zoya's 'Phoebe' on pinky

Easter look #1

Hey guys :)
So after doing my Easter nails last night it really got me in the mood to do a look with Easter colors. This could go any number of directions, but I decided to go the delicate route with this first one.

* inside, with flash

* close up, fluorescent light

I'd never played with this color combo before, but i LOVE it. Its so girly and fun. I wasn't sure exactly how this was going to turn out, so I'm glad it resulted in something like this.

Swatches (from L to R):
'metallic white' from Ulta's metallic palette
'metallic yellow' " "
 Urban Decay's 'Sphynx'
UD's 'Fishnet'

The first two colors are pretty self explanatory. Though it's hard to tell in the pictures, 'Sphynx' is a gorgeous, light, and shimmery pink with tiny pieces of holographic glitter. 'Fishnet' is a rich, shimmery magenta shade with a purple tint to it.

I barely used any pencil or liquid eyeliner because I really wanted the 'softness' of the shades to stand out, & was afraid by using eyeliner like I usually do, it would look much too heavy.
I feel as thought I could have done a bit better job blending, but oh well.
Next time I might also use a bit more of 'Fishnets', just to make it slightly more dramatic.

Kardashian chick-lettes :p

Wooooooooo for it being Friday!
So I'm getting so stoked seeing all these Easter manis that I figured it was time to do one of my own. I love pastel colors (which are, of course, associated as Easter colors) so this time of year shall be quite fun for me as a blogger :p

Ok, for tonight's inspiration I used a bit of personal history mixed with some classic Easter manis. When my mom was little, her Grandfather (who owned a farm) would always give her & her siblings baby chicks dyed different colors for Easter. They'd keep them for a little bit, then take them back as they got older.
I've also seen some people do some really cute Easter nails using baby chicks doing various things, so I thought I'd follow that line of thought.

First I want to brag about the fantastic base polish I used:
'Ladies in the Limelight' by NOPI's Kardashian Kolor collection.
This is a lovely pastel yellow creme that's sold (I think) exclusively at CVS stores. I bought this just a couple days ago thinking that it would be a great polish for the upcoming holiday... and I was right. I'm usually not a fan of yellow on my nails, but this one is awesome!

Alright, moving on to the chicks...
(messed up my middle finger's eyes last minute & didn't feel like fixing it)

Granted, this is a pre-clean up shot because I was just SURE my daughter was going to wake up & i'd mess them up, (she did) so I took this as soon as I finished.
Anyway, what do you think?!
I love these little guys.
Again, nothing new but it was still fun to do.

I used:
'Ladies in the Limelight' as base (3 coats)
China Glaze's 'Alpine Snow' and a striper/regular brush for the egg shells
black Konad special polish & a dotting tool for the eyes
Sally Hansen's 'Sun Kissed' & dotting tool for the 'beak'

I wish I had been able to clean the mu & get a shot before they got messed up,
but oh well :/
Next time, I suppose.

Whatchya think?
Let me know :)
Have a great rest of the night!
xD
