Revlon Matte Lip Balm 'Mischievous'

Happy Tuesday!
Ya'll know I love me some Revlon matte balms.
I've done God knows how many posts on them because they're AMAZEBALLS & perfection.
Today, I have a light, spring/summery matte balm for you.

This is 'Mischievous'.

This is a pastel, orange-cream matte balm.
It's screams summer, and the tanner your skin... the better this would look.
My face isn't super tan, as you can see :)

Regardless, it's a great balm.
Looks great, feels great, and lasts great :)

Revlon's Matte Lip Balm- 'Sultry'

Happy Sunday Funday!
Ya'll know I have a slight obsession with Revlon's matte lip balms.
I snagged a new shade in the grocery store the other day,
'Sultry'!

Sultry is a medium-rose shade.

Here it is in indoor lighting:

... and natural lighting:
(definitely more pink)

I'm IN LOVE with these lip balms.
There hasn't been a single once I've tried that I didn't like.
They're a great price, go on super smoothly, last long, smell good, and are super easy to apply.
What more could you want?!

I haven't tried the lip balms that have a shine/sheen to them yet as matte is my favorite look.
Have you tried any of Revlon's balms- matte or not?

Revlon Matte Lip Balm- 'Unapologetic'

Ya'll know I love these matte balms form Revlon.
I'm finally posting about another one today that is bright & perfect for summer.
Here's 'Unapologetic'.

As always, this baby went on super smooth.
It's staying power is redonkulous,
and the bright pink gives you a perfect pop of color.
:)

Revlon Matte Balm Stain- 'Audacious'

Whew!
Sorry it's been almost/over a week since I posted last.
I've had so much going on with job fairs, wedding planning,
and now moving houses!

Anyway,
ya'll know I'm in love with Revlon's Matte Balm Stains,
(see a full review of them here)
and now that it's Spring/close to Summer,
I was ready to pick up some brighter colors :)

Here's 'Audacious'!

'Audacious' is a bright, peachy-orange shade.
:)

It's much brighter than these pictures can show,
AND I LOVE IT.
!!!

As always, the formula and wearability of these balm stains are incredible.
I HIGHLY recommend you scoop one or two of these babies up for the coming season,
if you haven't already!

Revlon Matte Balm in 'Elusive'

I just can't get enough of these bad boys from Revlon.
Every one I try is as good or better.
Here's 'Elusive' !

This balm is a muted, blush, rose and is just lovely.
It's perfect for any season.

I am completely in love with it :)

* REVIEW * Wet N Wild Mega Slicks Lip Balm Stain

So i've been seeing these bad boys bounce around the blogging world recently,
and thanks to my newfound love for this style of lip color,
(all thanks to Revlon)
I figured I'd give one a go.

The Product:
I'm not sure if Wet N Wild or Revlon started this whole lip balm thing first,
( I just know I tried Revlons first),
but I'm pretty sure these by Wet n Wild came afterwards.
Regardless of the inspiration for the product,
these balm stains are designed to be like lipstick,
but not the... how do I word it?... 'thick' texture that comprises most lipsticks.

The balm stain I scooped up was 'A Stiff Pink':

Ok, so aside from the weird and slightly sexual name, here are the claims...

Some of its Claims:
- Provides a smooth, "kissable" pout
- Conditions the lips, thanks to the Acai Palm oil
- No feathering
-6 shades
- Gives a unique, "minty", cooling sensation
- Long lasting power

The Review
The product caught my eye in the drugstore mainly because it appeared to be similar
to the Revlon balm stains I love so much,
and also because I'd seen some hype about it in the blogging world.
I bought 'A Stiff Pink' and promptly swatched it when I got home:

As you can see, it's a bright, bubblegum pink.
Though it's not so bright to look like something a 15 year old would wear :)
I would pleasantly, pleasantly surprised with it!!

PROS
- bargain price, cheaper than Revlon's balm stains
- SUPER smooth & soft
- Lovely, pink color
- Easy to apply
- No bleeding or feathering

CONS
- Only comes in 6 shades, but I expect they'll make more as the product sells
- I didn't notice any "minty cooling" effect, if that's something you're looking for
- Not quite as long lasting as it claimed, but definitely still lasts a while

The Verdict
This product FAR outweighed any expectations I had. It went on so buttery smooth
and felt great on my lips, definitely conditioning them as it claimed.
Being that this baby is a great bargain price,
you definitely get a bang for your buck!
I'm super anxious to try the other shades, too.
RATING (OUT OF 10): 9

Revlon Matte Balm Stain 'Complex'

I've got my second balm stain from Revlon to show you today.
(see the first one here)

Here's 'Complex'.

'Complex' is a lovely, nude matte and is hardly complex at all!
Nice little irony you got there, Revlon.

Regardless, it's a very nice shade that will obviously go with almost anything.
It would be really pretty paired with a smokey eye and a clear, glittery gloss over it.
:)

*REVIEW* Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm- 'Standout'

Drumroll, please...
YES, I have finally gotten my hands on the much talked about Matte balms
What am I talking about?
Hold your horses, people.
Stay tuned for a full review :)

The Product:
Revlon recently released a new line of Matte "balms" that are just
basically matte lipsticks in a pencil form.
Think Lime Crime's Velvetines, kind of.
Anyway, this suede/matte look is perfect for the upcoming
cold season and is all the rage right now.
Here's one such balm in "Standout':

Some of it's Claims:
- velvety color
- provides moisture like a balm
- infused with shea, mango, & cocoa butter
- retractable
- requires no sharpener

The Review:
I could not wait to try this line.
Being that one of my biggest lemmings is 'Red Velevet'
Velvetine from Lime Crime (& one that I can't afford right now),
I sufficed with what seemed to me to be a cheaper version,
this matte balm in 'Standout'.
Here it is with a couple 'coats':
and in the shade,

YUM!
It definitely has the velvety, suede look I was going for.
It applied super easily.
I was worried since the pencil/crayon is so chubby how accurate I could get,
but it wasn't a problem at all.
Not to mention this baby lasted FOREVER-
through hours of use including eating and drinking :)

PROS:
- sensible, affordable price
- SUPER LONG LASTING color
- gives you that sultry, velvety effect
- comes in various shades
- available in most stores
- easy to use and reuse, as it needs no sharpener

CONS:
- I didn't feel that it gave me as much moisture as my lip balms do,
 as it claims

Verdict
THIS PRODUCT IS AWESOME.
I fell completely in love with the velvet look.
It's something so different and sexy,
not to mention perfect for the upcoming season.
I think my other favorite part of this was how long it lasted.
We've all tried lipsticks that claim to have great staying power,
but all of them fail when it comes to eating and drinking at least,
sometimes it takes less...
NOT with this baby, though.
Definitely, definitely recommend!
:)
