Christmas Classics series- 'Peppermint Kisses'

I've got another post in my yearly Christmas Classics series today.
This is another one is from the previously known Lush Lacquer (now Polish Me Silly)
from about 2 or 3 years ago :)

'Peppermint Kisses' is a white base with red, pink, white, and green hex & square glitter.
It's a little thin, so at least a few coats are required to reach opacity.
This IS a polish that you have to dig into to get some of the glitters,
but it's nothing too time consuming.

I wish they still sold this;
it's a great one!

Christmas Classics series- 'Frosty'

Happy Monday!
This is my last full week of work before Christmas,
and I'm ready to power through it ;P

I have another Christmas classic for you today,
and it IS a classic- one of the oldest Christmas polishes I have!
Here's 'Frosty' from the (what used to be called) Lush Lacquer,
but now Polish Me Silly.

This is 2 coats :)

This lovely, white based polish with all kinds of green and red glitter has held up beautifully over the years :) It's not gloomy or thick,
and still goes on pretty well.
Too coats is really I needed to reach opacity.
Though they don't sell this anymore,
(boo)- it will always be one of my favorites! :)

Christmas Classics- OPI's 'Lost on Lombard'

For the past couple years,
I've been doing a 'Christmas Classics' series of old(er) nail polishes that are either Christmas-themed or strike me as good Christmas polishes.
Today's post is the latter.
I've posted this polish before,
but it's lovely for the holidays
(especially as a base for stamping)
and I decided to post it again!
I'm sure it could be found pretty cheap nowadays,
as it's about a year or so old.

Here's 2 coats of OPI's 'Lost on Lombard':

'Lost on Lombard' is a holly-red creme.
It goes on like a dream and it perfect for Christmas.
I'ved used it under stamping quite a bit in the past,
but it's adorable on it's own, as well :)

Christmas Classics- 'Winter Holly '

I've got another 'Christmas classic' for you today,
again from China Glaze's holiday collection last year.

Here's 3 coats of 'Winter Holly'!

'Winter Holly' is a green holo microglitter, similar to 'Glistening Snow'
but just a different color :)

This polish sparkles like crazy in the sunlight thanks to the holo
and 2 coats of SV.
Definitely a good one for the holidays!

Christmas Classics- 'Glistening Snow'

Today I have a polish from CG from their holiday collection last year.
This is 3 amazing coats of 'Glistening Snow'.

'Glistening Snow' is made up of silver holo micro glitter.
After a top coat, it's positively dazzling!
If only my camera could completely capture what the sun does.

Anyway, this bad boy is awesome.
What do you think?

Christmas Classic series- 'Frosty'

Whew!
Sorry it has been over a week since I blogged.
I had finals and final projects all due last week.
(Did I mention I wrote close to 50 pages? :pulls hair out:)

Anyway,
the constantly rainy/cloudy weather hasn't aided me in doing any nail looks
since I use natural light for all those.
So, good times.

Before I begin all my new posts,
(and I have TONS of them!!)
I wanted to post one of my favorite throwback Christmas polishes...
Here's 2 coats of (what used to be) Lush Lacquer's 'Frosty'!

'Frosty' really encapsulates all that I love about this indie maker.
It's original, fun, formula is great, good quality, and it applies really well.
What do you guys think about this polish?

A Classic or no?

It's from OPI's Deck the Halls collection from 2011,
and is one of the very first polishes I swatched here on my blog back in my noob days :)

Nail mail & Christmas Indie/Christmas Classics- Day 3!

Hello!
Today is my LAST day of this semester!
I have my last (and hardest) final later this morning and it's going to be impossible :/
I'm just ready for it all to be over so i cant enjoy everything about Christmas :D

Okay, two parts to today's post.
First, here's the mani for today.
This is 2 coats of CG's 'Icicle' as a base,
and 2 coats of Kawaii Nail Lacquer's 'Ho Ho Ho' on top!

'Ho Ho Ho' is  clear base with various sized red, green, and white hexagonal matte glitter. There is also some scattered white bare glitter in there, as well. Out of the 4 i've ordered from her holiday collection, this one is my favorite! :) I was going to save this one to wear on Christmas day, but I couldn't wait. I applied it a little too thickly and should have manipulated the glitter more, but I still like it. You can get this and other AWESOME polishes here at her Etsy site. This was $8.

'Icicle' serves as the base for this polish. It's a classic silver foil from CG's Let It Snow collection from last year. It's easily opaque in 2 coats and went on beautifully! I kind of cheated here, because 'Icicle' also serves as Day 3 of my Christmas Classics series ;p On Kawaii Nail Lacquer's website, they had 'Ho Ho Ho' over a silver, and I liked it so much that I figured I'd do the same. I think it would look great over a black, too, though

All in all, I was super pleased with this mani!

Now, on to the nail mail!
It didn't really come in the mail,
but rather via my awesome bestie over at GaGa for Nails!
She dropped by yesterday to give me my Christmas present,
and here they are!

Aha! Can you guess what they are?
Stay tuned in the coming weeks to see!
Thanks so much to her for being amazing and generous! :D

Christmas Classics- Day 2

Hello everyone :)
I've got day 2 of my Christmas Classics series today,
where i'm featuring past favorite holiday polishes!

Next up,

This is 3 coats of CG's 'Blues Years Eve' and 2 coats of CG's 'Snowglobe' on my ring finger.
Both are from CG's holiday collection last year- Let It Snow!

'Blue Years Eve' is a deep, cobalt blue with light blue shimmer. It's a very pretty shade, i'm just not into wearing dark blue on my hands, for some reason. It's a little on the sheer side, but builds up opacity easily. Formula was great.

'Snowglobe' is a clear base of iridescent, multi colored glitter. It's a LOVELY top coat that literally looks great over any polish. It's really a chameleon- the glitter looks different depending upon what color you wear it with. I like that it compliments the dark blue here. It's wintery and happy :)

FYI...
new giveaway starts this Friday so stay tuned for that! ;)

Christmas Classics- Day 1

Hey guys :)
I've decided to start a new series through the month of December featuring my favorite polishes that are at least about a year old or so. Some of them I attempted to feature back when I FIRST started my blog, but my pictures were even worse than they are now and I had like 5 followers, so I feel that it's okay to feature them again :)

First up is OPI's 'Designer...de Better' from their 2011 Muppets collection!

'Designer... de Better' is a pale gold foil with specks of reddish-orange. It was one of my favorite polishes last year and is most definitely in my overall favorite top 10 polishes ever. Though the brush is a little fat for my liking, it goes on BEAUTIFULLY and is a lovely holiday polish. I see this looking great on any skin tone, as well.

I'm sure loads of you have this,
so what are your thoughts on it?
ALSO,

my giveaway ends at midnight tonight so don't forget to go enter!
Thanks for reading! :)
