CG's Spring 2015 Collection- 'I Brake for Colour'

Well, this is the second to last of my Spring polishes from CG
(it's about time to break out their neon summer collection! :P)
Today's post is just a straight- forward, red/pink creme.

Here's 2 coats of 'I Brake for Colour':

This polish's consistency was a bit better than some of the others from the collection.
It was pretty opaque and not nearly as watery.
Progress!

Stay tuned for CG's BAD A neon collection in the next week or so!

China Glaze Spring 2015 Roadtrip collection- 'Boho Blues'

Happy Tuesday!
It's in the 70's all week here this week,
and aside from my seasonal allergies-
it makes me so ready for Spring! :)

Here's another polish from CG's 2015 Spring Roadtrip collection,
'Boho Blues'!
(3 coats)

'Boho Blues' is really more of a periwinkle color than a blue.
It reminds me slightly of Essie's 'Bikini So Teeny' from a year or two ago.
It's lovely!
It's not my favorite color for my skin tone,
but it's a solid polish.

China Glaze Spring 2015 Roadtrip Collection- 'Wanderlust'

Happy Friday!
I'm going to see Flux Pavilion tonight,
and I'm beyond stoked.
It's been a couple years since I've seen him,
and I need a night out :P

Anyway,
I have another lovely polish from CG's new Spring Collection.
Here's 2 coats of 'Wanderlust':

'Wanderlust' is a pastel lilac creme with slight light orange shimmer
(you can see this very faintly in the first & second picture).
It actually reminds me faintly of 'In a Lily Bit' from their Spring collection last year,
but I like it all the same! :)

3/18/15

China Glaze Spring 2015 Road Trip Collection- 'Pack Lightly'

Spring is officially here in Tennessee, finally!
To celebrate, I'm breaking out the polishes I bought from China Glaze's new Spring collection.
The first of many is 'Pack Lightly'.
Here's 3 coats:

'Pack Lightly' is a pastel, orange cream colored creme polish.
It was a bit more watery than I would have liked,
but the color and finished product is lovely.
It reminds me faintly of the pastel orange Sinful Colors put out for their spring collection 2 years ago.

OPI: 50 Shades of Grey collection- (part 3)

Happy Valentine's Day! :)

This is my third and final post showcasing OPI's 50 Shades of Grey collection.

I'd love to say we are ending this on a high note,
but- we aren't.
The two polishes I have for you today I'm posting more out of duty than because I like them.
Sad.

First is 'Romantically Involved'.

I love a good red as much as the next girl,
but... this really was anticlimactic.
It's got a pretty color, no doubt.
(it actually reminded me of a less good version of their Lost on Lombard),
but the formula was crap.
Definitely not something you really need to drop some money on :/

The worse of the two is this sad little number-
'Dark Side of the Mood'.

The coolest part about this polish is it's name.
This was the most watery of all the polishes.
It took a good 3 coats to even look somewhat opaque.
Truly, it's just really dull.

I hate to end the collection this way,
but, there you have it!
:)

2/7/15

OPI's 50 Shades of Grey Collection (part 2)

Here's round 2 of the polishes for 50 Shades of Grey from OPI.
(see the first post here)

For today,
I have my two favorite from the whole collection.
First up is 'Cement the Deal'.

'Cement the Deal' is a nice, medium-grey creme.
Obviously, reminiscent of cement... or at least the was the intention.
The formula on this was pretty good, but a little thin.
This is with 3 coats.

It's nice :)

Next up is 'Shine for Me':

'Shine for Me' is a clear base that's tightly packed with silver, grey, and dark blue micro glitter.
It's pictured here over 'Cement the Deal',
and it's actually pretty awesome.
It's nothing all that creative,
but the formula was good and it sparkles :)

Stay tuned for the last of the collection soon!

Christmas Classics- OPI's 'Lost on Lombard'

For the past couple years,
I've been doing a 'Christmas Classics' series of old(er) nail polishes that are either Christmas-themed or strike me as good Christmas polishes.
Today's post is the latter.
I've posted this polish before,
but it's lovely for the holidays
(especially as a base for stamping)
and I decided to post it again!
I'm sure it could be found pretty cheap nowadays,
as it's about a year or so old.

Here's 2 coats of OPI's 'Lost on Lombard':

'Lost on Lombard' is a holly-red creme.
It goes on like a dream and it perfect for Christmas.
I'ved used it under stamping quite a bit in the past,
but it's adorable on it's own, as well :)

4/1/14

Metro Pollen-tin

This could not be a more appropriate polish since my eyes are RAVAGED
by the pollen from everything blooming right now.
fml.

Anyway, here's another polish from CG's new City Flourish Spring collection.
This is 3 coats of 'Metro Pollen-ton'.

'Metro Pollen-tin' is a rich "marigold-yellow".
This is one of the few yellow polishes Ive seen hat actually looks good on your nails.
It wasn't streaky, simulating the color of poop or fungus...
it's just a solid polish :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: China Glaze
Type: Creme
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Good
Price: $7
Get This: online or local beauty stores like Sally's and Ulta

3/26/14

CG's NEW 'Petal to the Metal'

This is probably my most FAVORITE polish of this season, period.
It reminds me faintly of 'Flip Flop Fantasy' from CG a couple years ago,
and i loveddddddd that polish. Still do :)

Here's 3 coats of 'Petal to the Metal' from CG's City Flourish Spring 2014 collection.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: China Glaze
Type: Creme
Formula: Eh, it was pretty streaky :/
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Okay. Nothing to rave about, but it was decent.
Price: $7 for a mini
Get This: online or local beauty stores like Sally's and Ulta

I freaking ADORE this polish.
It's basically a neon and is just perfect for the upcoming season.
However, the streaky-ness does completely suck. Meh.

CG's NEW 'In a Lily Bit'

So all of you know China Glaze recently released
a new collection for Spring 2014- City Flourish.
IT'S AMAZING.
I've bought several polishes from it,
and today is the first of those :)

Here's 3 coats of 'In a Lily Bit'.

'In a Lily Bit' is a super pastel lilac creme.
It looks almost pastel pink in some light.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: China Glaze
Type: Creme
Formula: Eh, it was pretty streaky :/
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Okay. Nothing to rave about, but it was decent.
Price: $7 for a mini
Get This: online or local beauty stores like Sally's and Ulta

I looooove this color,
but I was super disappointed in how streaky the formula was.
After 3 coats and a top coat- it evened out fine, though.

Starrily- 'The Magic of Frosty'

Okay, okay.
So i know this is technically a Christmas polish,
but being that so many places are getting snow today-
I figured it's still fitting...
you can still make snowmen, whether it's christmas or not :)

Anyway, here's 1 coat of 'The Magic of Frosty' over Zoya's 'Neely'.

'The Magic of Frosty' is a clear base filled with white & red microglitter,
small green, red, and blue hexes, medium white hexes, large red hexes,
and large white snowflakes.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Starrily
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Good, but you definitely have to dig for the bigger glitters.
Price: $8-$9 for a mini
Get This: no longer sold :/

What do you guys think of this fun winter top coat?
I love it :)

1/27/14

Zoya- 'Taylor'

I've got another lovely Zoya for you today.
I bought this once from their most recent promotion,
and I obviously HAD to buy it since it bears my name :)

Also, I've been on the hunt for good, neutral, wedding polishes
and this definitely looked promising online.

Here's 2 coats of 'Taylor'.

'Taylor' is a "light toffee creme". It is indeed very light,
but looked a bit different on my nails than I expected.
I still like it, though.

Not sure if it's quite THE wedding polish I was looking for, though,
so I'm still on the hunt!

11/12/13

Spotted: Fall!

Now that Fall (and bits of winter?) is definitely here to stay,
I decided to do fun & simple Fall nail art :)
I love using my dotting tool,
so I just went with that.

That's Zoya's 'Flynn' as a base,
and the dots are Sally Hansen's 'Red Carpet', Zoya's 'Thandie',
& an unnamed metallic gold from Kleancolor :)

I'm no pro at nail art,
thus why I never do it,
but I wanted to at least attempt some this time.

10/15/13

Lost on Lombard

I've got a great, simple Fall polish for you today.
Here's 2 coats of 'Lost on Lombard ' from OPI's San Francisco Fall collection.

'Lost on Lombard' is a medium, dusty red creme.
It's not quite as bright as it looks in the picture.
It screams Fall to me,
and I'm thinking it will be a good base for some Christmas stamping, too.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  OPI
Type: Creme
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 5
Application: This goes on beautifully!
Price: $9
Get This: large beauty stores like ULTA or certain large supermarkets

I liked this polish.
It's simple,
but it a different shade of red than I own already.
So all in all, a winner.
What do you think?

10/14/13

Halloween Glitter Gradient

So I purchased a black & white glitter from Maybelline awhile ago,
but i've been saving it for the Halloween season to swatch :)
I found a look on Pinterest with a similar glitter used as a gradient
over an orange nail, and I knew I had to recreate it.

Here's my attempt!
I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen 'Sun Kissed' as a base
and 'Clearly Spotted ' from Maybelline for the gradient.

'Clearly Spotted ' is a clear base filled with all sizes of black & white
circle and hex glitters.
It's from Maybelline's Color Show, 'Polka Dots' collection.
I figure all these little black & white polishes
are dupes of Lynderella's 'Connect The Dots'-
but I still like it.
Plus, it's only like $6,
so- there's that ;P

The gradient itself is kinda crappy,
but i rarely do nail art...
so when I do, it's mediocre at best.
I still liked this, though :)
What do you guys think?

9/21/13

Zoya 'Neely'

One of the polishes I bought in Zoya's last BOGO event was 'Neely'.
Now that i've finally gotten around to swatching it,
here it is in 3 coats.

'Neely' is a delicate mint green creme.
I really liked the finished result,
but getting there was a little disappointing...

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Zoya
Type: Creme
Formula: Pretty good
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty streaky :(
Price: $8
Get This: ULTA or Zoya.com

What do you guys think?

9/15/13

Cozy Sweaters

FINALLY, finally it has felt like Fall here in TN.
In honor of that, I painted this mani to celebrate the coming season & use some of my new polishes :)

Here's 2 coats of Essie's 'Don't Sweater It' & 'Beyond Cozy (accent).

'Don't Sweater It' is "warm, cozy, creamy mauve" from their Fall 2012 Stylenomics collection. It almost looks brown in some light, but I love it both ways. Definitely a prefect polish for Fall.

'Beyond Cozy' is a fantastic "silvery gold glitter" from their Winter 2012 collection. The sparkle in this is insane, and I love that it leans gold or silver depending upon the light.
Definitely gets me in the mood for the holidays! :)

What do you guys think of these polishes?
Have you tried them before?
I really love them together :)

8/6/13

NOPI's 'Tink's in the Pink'

I have the other NOPI polish from the Tink Collection for you today.
(see the first one here).
Here's 2 coats of 'Tink's in the Pink'.

'Tink's in the Pink' is a medium pink creme.
I my have a polish or two very similar to this color,
but I don't mind.
NOPI brushes are some of my favorite out there,
and application was super easy-
not to mention the name & theme was just too cute to pass up.

Just a forewarning,
you'll be seeing a lot of Fairy posts in the near future!
My 2 year old daughter is obsessed with them,
so i've really been on the lookout for anything Fairy (beauty or not).
Maybe it's just because i'm more aware of them,
but I sure feel like i've been seeing Fairy EVERYTHING lately!

8/1/13

NOPI- 'How Fairy Nice of You!'

So in my post yesterday,
you saw that I scooped up two new polishes from Nicole by OPI that are Tinkerbell themed.
My toddler daughter is obsessed with fairies,
(in fact, that's the theme of her 2nd birthday this year)
so I had to grab a couple of the polishes.

Here's 2 coats of one of them, 'How Fairy Nice of You!'
*shade*
*sunlight-ish*

'How Fairy Nice of You' is a lovely baby pink creme,
& part of NOPI's Summer 2013 Tink Collection.
It's been awhile since I used any polish by NOPI for some reason,
and I forgot how much I really like the width and length of their brushes.
They're short and wide, just like my nails :x
So it really makes application easy peasy.

What do you guys think of this polish & of NOPI's new collection?

Mini Drugstore Haul

So I finally made a much anticipated trip to my local Walgreens,
and picked up a few great goodies:

Wooo!
My goal was to find some of the new Wet N Wild trios,
and I decided on these two (they were out of the other one I would have gotten, humph).
First up is 'Your 15 Minutes Aren't Up!'

*swatched without primer*

Odd name for a trio, but the shadows look pretty good.

Next is 'I'm Seeing Triples!'
*swatched without primer*

These are a bit bolder, and also look promising.
Both trios are mattes.
Stay tuned for looks and a review of them in the near future!

Also,
my daughter is almost 2 and OBSESSED with anything fairies.
SO, when I say NOPI had a Tinkerbell collection,
I obviously had to buy at least a couple.

Two very tame, lovely pinks by the looks of it.
I'll have a full post and swatches of at least one of these bad boys tomorrow :)

What do you guys think?
What have your experiences been with the new Wet N Wild trios?
Let me know! :)
