I haven't really used this brand in over a year,
and I'm so glad I revisited it!

Here's 3 coats of 'Zen Pool' over Sinful Colors' 'Sweet Nothing'.

'Zen Pool' is a shimmery teal crelly with medium and large pink circle glitters, medium white hexes, huge white matte hexes, and variously sized teal holo glitter.
It's indeed calming, but also reminds me of summer :)

DDP- 'A Christmas Story'

Hey everyone.
I need to go ahead and apologize for my crap pictures today :(
The sun refused to come out AT ALL today,
so I attempted to take pics with my phone inside...
but they are crap and didn't do the polish justice at all.
I promise AS SOON AS the sun returns,
i'll update you with new pictures for this bad boy!

Here's Darling Diva Polish's 'A Christmas Story'.

blahhhhh the pictures suck so bad :((

'A Christmas Story' is a BEAUTIFUL collection of holographic green and red micro glitter. It applies super smoothly and was easy to build opacity. Here i've used 3 coats by themselves.
I really wish I had a picture of this baby in the daylight,
because it is STUNNING. Seriously. It looks so underrated in the bottle, I really wasn't expecting much more than green and red glitter...
But in the sunlight, BAM. It's ridiculous.
I've had some wishy-washy polishes from DDP, but 'A Christmas Story' totally makes up for it. After applying a coat of SV, this baby was smooth as a baby's bottom ;)

As I mentioned on my FB, i've been searching for a good comparison chart to start using when I swatch/review polishes (or other products, for that matter).
I've used a revised version of one that Lace and Lacquers uses, because hers is so awesome!

POLISH INFORMATIONBrand: DarlingDivaPolish
Type: Glitter top coat
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 2 (first coat)
Price: $8

July 4th nail art & indie

Happy Independence Day!
To all my international followers,
I know this day holds little significance for you (unless you're from the UK, heh heh),
but it's still a great excuse to drink, be with the people you love, and relax!

I've got some nail art to show you AND my third and final July 4th indie.

First up- the nail art.
:)
I know this is super simple, but I still quite like how it came out!
There's a lot going on, so i'll break it down for ya.
I used the following:

Thumb: China Glaze's 'White on White' as base; Sinful Colors Nail Art in red and blue
Pointer: Kleancolor 'metallic blue' with tiny confetti stars on top
Middle: CG's 'Blue Year's Eve'; stamped with BM20 & white Konad polish
Ring: Butter London's 'Knees Up'
Pinky: OPI's 'Into the Night'; stamped with BM14 & Konad white polish

It's been awhile since i've done any stamping,
so this holiday was a perfect excuse to do some :)

Next up,
my last July 4th indie polish to show you.

This is 1 coat of DarlingDivaPolish's 'Anita' over CG's 'White on White'.

'Anita' is a clear base with micro holographic glitter and large white (matte), red, & blue hexagonal glitter.

This is the polish i've been most excited to show you guys out of the 3,
and it's the one I ended up liking the least :(
The polish was just terribly gloopy and like it threw up all over my nails.
Despite only using 1 coat,
it was still really hard to work with.

I've bought one other glitter from this shop,
and it was the same way :(
I do know, however, that she has some other polishes which are not topcoats that are highly popular,
so it must just be these.

She does have a TON of other polishes in her shop that look great.
You can get 'Anita' and others for about $8.

That's it for me!
What do you guys think?

2 indie glitters & your opinion!!

Hola!
I hope you all are having a lovely beginning of the week!
The weather has been really nice here today- almost like Spring again!
Which is nice, considering we completely skipped that season here in TN...

Anyway,
2 different indie polishes for your lovely viewing pleasure tonight.
This first one is one of the GlitterDaze polishes that I received recently, and I can't decide which base polish (if any) to wear it with :/
SO I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE
:)

Tada!
This is adorable,
but I can't decide which way I like it best.
What do you guys think?!

Whichever one is the most popular is the one i'll use in a post :)

Moving on!
I got another DarlingDivaPolish awhile ago that I just haven't featured yet,
so i'm taking this opportunity to do that now.
Here's DDP's 'Too Schmexxxy'

So this stuff is literally  JAM PACKED with alllllll kinds of holographic glitter. Stars, circles, hexagons, half moons, YOU NAME IT- all of every size, and all in a clear base.

I couldn't decide which base color to use for a mani with this polish,
so I used my handy dandy nail wheel to just show you several options :)
(I swear this won't become a regular thing!)
1 coat of 'Too Schmexxy'

2 coats

From L to R:
OPI's 'A Grape Fit'
OPI's 'Fly'
ORLY's 'After Party'

The one downside to this polish was that, since there was SO MUCH glitter, I thought it ended up just looking like the bottle threw up on my nails :0 Even with 1 coat, it was just super hard to maneuver the glitter into the right spot, and it just all looks clumpy and bleh :/
Perhaps if I'd had a toothpick or something on hand it would have been easier?
I don't know. I was super stoked about this, but it kind of let me down
:(
However, I LOVE the rest of her stuff, so don't in any way let this deter you from buying from her Etsy shop. This polish, and most of her others, retail for $8.

Any of you have this or have any suggestions?

That's it for tonight!
I promise polish on real nails next post ;)
Thanks for reading!

nail/makeup mail & newest additions

heyhey everyone!
Lots of exciting little tidbits and additions tonight.

Firstly,
my two indie polishes that i've waited so long for finally arrived today! :e
I was browsing Etsy a couple weeks ago and came across these 2 beauties form DarlingDivaPolish!

*^ 'Anita'

* ^ 'Too Schmexxxy'

I can't even describe to you the amazingness of these. I'd love to spend this whole post on them, but i'll save that for another day :) For now, these teaser pics will have to do.

Also in the mail today came my Burning Heart palette from Sugarpill !!

:party
Some of you may know that i've been searching EVERYWHERE for a true, bright red. AND HERE SHE IS! Can't wait to try her, along with the other fantastic shades.

Lastly I have the newest additions that I couldn't resist in Sally's today.
*From L to R: 'Pelican Gray', 'After Party', & 'Melt Your Popsicle'

The last 2 are from ORLY's new neon collections that's out... wish Sally's had them when I was doing Live Loud week...

oh well :)

Do any of you have these?
