'Rogue Red' from Covergirl Catching Fire collection

This is the second of the two polishes I grabbed
from Covergirl's newest Catching Fire collection.
It's a gorgeous orange-red for Fall!

'Rogue Red' is a fiery orangeish-red metallic with golden shimmer.
As you can see, my camera can barely handle all the sparkle it has.
The pictures make it look slightly more red than it really is.
Also, pretty sure ORLY had an exact dupe of this a couple years ago...
I'll be investigating that for later :P

October Favorites!!

It's that time again!
Here are my favorite products from this month :)

1. Urban Decay B6 Vitamin- Infused Complexion Prep Spray
*not my picture

This stuff is the perfect last piece of the puzzle if you want your makeup to last
ALL. DAY.
It's a fairly new pickup of mine,
but I'll have a full review of this bad boy soon.
Suffice it to say- it's awesome.

2. MakeupGeek 'Burlesque'
*pic from makeupgeek.com

Just like last Fall, I'm still obsessed with the wine-red, plum color.
This is perfectly expressed in MUG's shadow, 'Burlesque'.
Tons of pigmentation & a hint of sparkle!
See it used most recently by me here.

3. Foils & Metallics like Zoya 'Channing' & CG's 'Strike up a Cosmo'

I'm a sucker for sparkle anyway,
and these shimmering fall shakes packed with glitz make me swoon!

4. L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara
*not my picture

This is one of my most recent purchases, so I don't have a review on it yet.
Needless to say, though, first impression are that this bad boy ROCKS.
Cannot wait to share with you all.

What do you think of these products?
What were your favorites from October?

Who Doesn't Love a Cosmo?!

I have my first polish from China Glaze's Fall collection- Autumn Nights.
I've been eyeballing these bad boys for awhile now.
Despite offering them in my last giveaway,
I hadn't had time budget to buy any for myself yet :P
SO YAY.

Here's a beauty and undoubtedly a new favorite of mine,
'Strike Up a Cosmo'.
This is 2 coats!

*drools*

'Strike Up a Cosmo' is a sparkling rose foil.
This reminds me vaguely of Zoya's 'Faye',
(hmmm, future dupe post?)
and is every bit as amazing!

a Covergirl lipstick,
and 2 new polishes from Covergirl's Catching Fire collection

Have a good day, ya'll!

Zoya 'Faye'

Happy Saturday!
I have an UH MAZING polish for you today.
I recently grabbed some Zoyas from my local ULTA,
& this was one of them. Wow!!

Here's 2 coats of 'Faye'.

I mean, BAM!
'Faye' is a "bronzed mauve with purple and brown undertones, flooded with bright gold sparkle". And they are not joking. This thing sparkles like nobody's business, which is one of the many reason I love Zoya. It's ridiculous how much sparkle this gets in the sunlight.
Just beautiful!

'Sea Glass'

I have the second of my two new polishes from Starrily for you today!
This little number is GORGEOUS.

Here's 1 coat of 'Sea Glass' over 2 coats of CG's 'Kinetic Candy'
 & Essie's 'In the Cab-ana' as accent.

'Sea Glass' is a clear base with shredded metallic blue foil/glitter/confetti?
I. LOVE. THIS.
I don't own a single polish like it,
and the color of the shreds just really appeals to me.
It's lovely for summer and makes me want to go to the beach.

'Casterly Rock' from NTP

Hello!
I have another Game of Thrones themed polish for you today from Not Too Polished!
Here is 2 coats of 'Casterly Rock' over 1 coat of Covergirl's 'Golden Opportunity'.

'Casterly Rock' is a clear base with red microglitter, red square glitter, and large golden/golden holo hex glitter. Being that Casterly Rock belongs to the Lannister's (who are uber wealthy), I wanted the mani to look rich. I really liked it against 'Golden Opportunity', which is a gorgeous champagne color. The combo glittered like no one's business in the sunlight, and I quite liked it :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Not Too Polished
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Good
Price: $7.50

What do you guys think about this polish?
Also, since this last episode was just SO GNARLY as far as Dany was concerned,
she will definitely be the inspiration of my next look ;P

Stamping & drugstore haul

Hellooooooo.
I actually have some decent stamping for you today!
:O I know- it's shocking.

I've been wanting to try another Covergirl polish since I was so impressed last time.
I also half-heartedly gave stamping another go,
and i'm pleased with how it came out.
Here's 2 coats of 'Golden Opportunity' stamped with Konad plate
(I know this last one is blurry, but I wanted you to see the full effect.)

'Golden Opportunity' is a champagne gold foil. It didn't last anywhere near as long as 'Constant Candy', but it's still a great polish!
As for the stamp, i don't even like paisleys, but I found myself liking this pattern against the gold.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Covergirl
Type: Metallic Foil
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Awesome!
Price:  $5
Get This: any local drugstore or large super market like Walmart & Target

What do you guys think of the pattern & combo?

ALSO,
i gave in & purchased the entire Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection :P

AND some St. Patrick's Day polishes:

Can't wait to show you these!
I freaking love pastels.

ANDDDDDDDDDD,
for those of you that have actually read my post-
i have a little surprise gift for you here in this 'hidden' giveaway!

Nail mail & Christmas Indie/Christmas Classics- Day 3!

Hello!
Today is my LAST day of this semester!
I have my last (and hardest) final later this morning and it's going to be impossible :/
I'm just ready for it all to be over so i cant enjoy everything about Christmas :D

Okay, two parts to today's post.
First, here's the mani for today.
This is 2 coats of CG's 'Icicle' as a base,
and 2 coats of Kawaii Nail Lacquer's 'Ho Ho Ho' on top!

'Ho Ho Ho' is  clear base with various sized red, green, and white hexagonal matte glitter. There is also some scattered white bare glitter in there, as well. Out of the 4 i've ordered from her holiday collection, this one is my favorite! :) I was going to save this one to wear on Christmas day, but I couldn't wait. I applied it a little too thickly and should have manipulated the glitter more, but I still like it. You can get this and other AWESOME polishes here at her Etsy site. This was $8.

'Icicle' serves as the base for this polish. It's a classic silver foil from CG's Let It Snow collection from last year. It's easily opaque in 2 coats and went on beautifully! I kind of cheated here, because 'Icicle' also serves as Day 3 of my Christmas Classics series ;p On Kawaii Nail Lacquer's website, they had 'Ho Ho Ho' over a silver, and I liked it so much that I figured I'd do the same. I think it would look great over a black, too, though

All in all, I was super pleased with this mani!

Now, on to the nail mail!
It didn't really come in the mail,
but rather via my awesome bestie over at GaGa for Nails!
She dropped by yesterday to give me my Christmas present,
and here they are!

Aha! Can you guess what they are?
Stay tuned in the coming weeks to see!
Thanks so much to her for being amazing and generous! :D

Christmas Classics- Day 1

Hey guys :)
I've decided to start a new series through the month of December featuring my favorite polishes that are at least about a year old or so. Some of them I attempted to feature back when I FIRST started my blog, but my pictures were even worse than they are now and I had like 5 followers, so I feel that it's okay to feature them again :)

First up is OPI's 'Designer...de Better' from their 2011 Muppets collection!

'Designer... de Better' is a pale gold foil with specks of reddish-orange. It was one of my favorite polishes last year and is most definitely in my overall favorite top 10 polishes ever. Though the brush is a little fat for my liking, it goes on BEAUTIFULLY and is a lovely holiday polish. I see this looking great on any skin tone, as well.

I'm sure loads of you have this,
so what are your thoughts on it?
ALSO,

my giveaway ends at midnight tonight so don't forget to go enter!
Thanks for reading! :)

Glitter & Glitz!

Happy Sunday!
Tanner and Layla are coming back to me this today after me being alone for the best few days, and i can't wait to see my baby girl! Although, the alone time was kind of nice. I got some decorating done, gorged myself on chocolate pie without no fear of judgement, and strutted around the apartment with no pants or bra. Boom. Livin' on the edge.

ANYWAY,
here's my fun and festive mani from the other day :)

This is 3 coats of Color Club's 'Ho Ho Holly', and then 2 coats of China Glaze's 'Pizzazz' on my ring finger.
'Ho Ho Holly' is a cheerful green/gold foil from Color Club's Winter Affair collection. The gold is most apparent in the second picture. Application was great, and the brush was perfect for my nail size. It 's almost opaque in 2 coats, but 3 coats guarantees it- along with bringing the color to full fruition. I LOVE IT. Just look at all that glitz!

'Pizzazz' is a clear base filled with multi colored pastel glitter from their Holiday Joy collection. Application was easy enough, but unfortunately, this is a polish we've ALL seen before from SOMEONE (OPI, DL, BL, Finger paints, NOPI, etc.). However, I really love the combo of the glitter with the green foil. Just bright and cheery :)

What are your thoughts?
Do you have either of these polishes?
Thanks for reading :)

Day 10: child's favorite animal

Happy Thursday!
My classes are only M-R so this is like Friday for me :)

Today's theme is your child's favorite animal!
Being that she's barely old enough to remember all the animals she's seen (unless they're ones she's seen on a regular basis), my daughter's favorite animal seems to simply be- a dog!
Or puppy, rather. She can almost say it :)

So here's what I came up with:

So this is by no means original, but it's super simple 'nail art' which appeals to my minimalistic nature :) This kind of stuff is right up my alley.

* fluorescent light

Here I used 1 coats of NOPI's 'Hard Kourt Fashionista' as my base... LOVE the instant opacity and fluid-ness of this polish, by the way. The brush is perfect for me, too- fat and short. Just like my little nails! :p

I used ORLY's 'Rage' and Zoya's 'Jinx' for the puppy paw prints.
This ORLY is one of m top 10 favorite nail polishes ever. It's super smooth and really compliments my skin tone. Not to mention that i'm a sucker for foils :x

This is the first time i've used 'Jinx', which I got back around in March. I was saving it for the fall season but decided to try it out now anyway. Closer to fall, i'll definitely have a good swatch of it!

All in all, I realllllly like this color combo!
I know the nail art is very basic and simple, but again,
that works for me!

first Color Club polish!

Greetings from Gulf Shores!
I've spent all day either at the beach or in the pool, drinking margaritas, basking in the sun... and it's just been fantastic. so relaxing.
I was pleased a couple days ago when I found out we had wifi here at the beach house,
but i've just now gotten around to posting about anything.

I brought a few beachy (in my opinion) polishes with me this week,
and today's polish also happens to have been my first Color Club polish. I came across a great deal of these in a Rite Aid a month or so ago but have just now gotten around to trying it.
Without further ado, 'Metamorphosis':

*sorry for the pic, was taken on my phone :/

'Metamorphosis' is from the 'Take Wing' collection. It's a foil-y teal-ish green that can has a subtle blue and pink look in certain light- almost like a duochrome. Unfortunately, I can't find my camera charger so I wasn't able to capture it :(

I bought this because of the duochrome quality it had, but it didn't show up most of the time. It reminded me very much of a peacock, though. Normally this polish would be right up my alley because i love me some metallic/foils, but I already have CG's 'Watermelon Rind', which reminds me VERY much of this polish.
so oh well.
not as unique as I had hoped.

It's a wee bit thin, so I used 2 coats here. It applied really well, also. OH YEAH- weird side note- the chlorine from the pool made this polish VERY sticky. It's super weird and now I can't wait to get it off because it just feels gunky. Anyone know why this happens?...

Anyway, I hope to be a bit more diligent about posting the rest of this week while i'm here :)
