Halloween Glitter Gradient

So I purchased a black & white glitter from Maybelline awhile ago,
but i've been saving it for the Halloween season to swatch :)
I found a look on Pinterest with a similar glitter used as a gradient
over an orange nail, and I knew I had to recreate it.

Here's my attempt!
I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen 'Sun Kissed' as a base
and 'Clearly Spotted ' from Maybelline for the gradient.

'Clearly Spotted ' is a clear base filled with all sizes of black & white
circle and hex glitters.
It's from Maybelline's Color Show, 'Polka Dots' collection.
I figure all these little black & white polishes
are dupes of Lynderella's 'Connect The Dots'-
but I still like it.
Plus, it's only like $6,
so- there's that ;P

The gradient itself is kinda crappy,
but i rarely do nail art...
so when I do, it's mediocre at best.
I still liked this, though :)
What do you guys think?

Beer & Gradient fail

Bleh, so I attempted another gradient mani today.
This is only the third time i've done one,
& it's definitely my least successful :(
To compensate, I decided to add a cute St. Patty's day stamp!
.... and had little luck with that, too.
I just need to stick to makeup! :(

Despite the massive fail,
I figured i'd post anyway :/
(this was prior full cleanup!)

So I decided to use CG's 'Four Leaf Clover', 'Re-fresh Mint', & 'Kinetic Candy'.
I think done right, the combo could look really cool.
I just need to perfect my skill set a bit :/

I've been looking for ways to use some of my new Winstonia plates,
so the failed gradient presented a good opportunity.
I know a lot of people do pub crawls or drink/party for St. Patty's day,
so the little beer mug stamp fit perfect :)

Stay tuned for some (more decent) St. Patty's day manis in the next couple days!

cotton candy gradient nails

Happy Saturday!
Thank God we get a long weekend this weekend. So awesome.
So going back to my cotton candy eye post the other day,
I said I loved the color combo so much that I wanted to use it again with some nail are or something. In lieu of that, I decided to try a gradient with them.

Here's what I came up with:
(*sorry for lack of great clean up- was so over it by the time I got to my cuticles)

So, this was a slightly unsuccessful combination.
Though I LOVE the colors together, these 3 polishes just didn't mesh because their finishes were totally different, and in the end they didn't fade into each other very well at all :/

I used:
Sinful Colors' 'Cinderella'
NOPI's 'One Big Happy Fame-ily'
China Glaze's 'Pink Voltage'

So the Sinful Colors is a jelly, NOPI is a shimmer, and the CG is a neon matte... none of which looked great together. You can hardly see the purple and the China Glaze was too harsh against the other two. Something I DID like, however, was how the shimmer from 'Cinderella' and the NOPI spread over onto the CG, which did give the mani some form of consistency. Still, not my favorite that I've ever done. I love the color combo, though!

first attempt at a ombre nails! :)

Hey guys!
First order of business,
JUST A FEW MORE HOURS LEFT
to enter my giveaway !
There' still time! So go enter, & good luck :)

Next up,
I finally had a go at an ombre design!
There's definitely still room for improvement, but i'm pretty happy with how it turned out for a first attempt.
*right hand

*left hand

Tada!
Ok, let me just say that clean up was HELLISH.
You can see that by the time I got to the cuticles, I just said screw it.
It was already late & this was good enough for me for now.
O_o

I used CG's 'Purple Panic', 'Pink Voltage', & 'Flip Flop Fantasy'- which are all neons :D
The ombre certainly isn't as fluid as I would like,
but for a first attempt- I really, really like it :)

I used the sponge method here,
& I couldn't believe how SIMPLE it was to do,
and how little time it took me to do it!
That kind of thing is right up my alley :)

What do ya'll think?!

pot o' gold!

SUP.
So tonight I tried my first gradient... >.<
It wasn't pretty, I'm afraid. It was much harder than it looked, wtf.
One of the reasons why I'll stick to mostly makeup... :P
Anyway, I thought I'd share it with you guys nonetheless,
& maybe ya'll can give me tips!

* initial idea

*i know this is cropped weird; I did a wonky job on my middle finger & was attempting to crop it out as much as I could :x

So obviously I had St. Patrick's day in mind when I did this- the whole pot of gold thing.
If I could actually DO a gradient, I think it actually would have looked really good.
:/ oh well.

I used NOPI's 'Khloe Had Little Lam-Lam' from the Kardashian Kolor collection as the base. This polish is a deep, almost forest-green creme. It was a litttttle gloopy, but still easier to apply than I thought. One coat was enough for me, believe it or not.
The glitter is China Glaze's 'Blonde Bombshell' which is a fantastic gold glitter with teeny pieces, larger pieces, and 'strips' (for lack of a better word) of gold glitter, as well.
I really like the two together :)

What are your thoughts?
Tips?
Let me know!
Have a great night/early morning!
