Game of Thrones makeup series- Dorne

Happy Sunday Funday!
I have another post in my GoT makeup series today.
If you've been watching the show lately,
you'll know that Dorne is becoming an increasingly prominent place,
with the Martells being from/ruling there, Oberyn, and the Sand Snakes.

Here are a few of the pictures I used of Dorne as inspiration:

And here's the soft/subtle look I created:

I used:
UD's Primer Potion
UD's 'Lucky', 'Reign', & 'Brokedown'- crease
SYN Cosmetics' 'Slim'- inner corners
SYN Cosmetics' 'Blaze' & 'Zone'- lids
SYN Cosmetics' 'Trace' & 'Greedy'- lower lash line
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

Game of Thrones makeup series- Meereen

IT'S FINALLY THAT TIME.
Game of Thrones is back!
As such, my makeup series has returned again, too :)

If you saw last night's episode (no spoilers here, don't worry)
OR if you've read the books,
you'll know that at this point in the story-
Meereen is becoming increasingly more important.

Meereen is the largest of the 3 city-states of Slaver's Bay.
Before Dany liberated the slaves,
it was one of the most lavish and richest cities in that part of the world.

Based on the gilded gold on the pyramids and statues
as well as the mud/clay brick that the rest of the city was built from,
here's the look I created:

I used:
UD's Primer Potion
SYN Cosmetics' 'Slim'- inner corners
Shiro Cosmetics' 'Hodor'- inner half of lid
Shiro Cosmetics' 'I Loved a Maid'- outer half of lid
Shiro Cosmetics' 'Climbing Chaos'- crease
Shiro Cosmetics' 'Queensguard' & 'Womens' Weapons'- highlight
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

I wish the sheen from 'I Loved a Maid' was easier to see,
but otherwise, I love this look.
It definitely reminds me of Meereen :)
It's actually a look I would wear out in a heartbeat, too.

Anyway,
stay tuned for more looks for the series :)

Game of Thrones shadows/swatches!

Okay, so, I"m a big game of thrones fan.
I've read all the books & they're amazeballs,
PLUS the show isn't half bad, either.
In honor of Season 5 starting in the next few weeks,
I'd decided to buy some shadows from the ever amazing
I've actually never bought this brand before,
but I've heard and seen nothing but great things.

I chose several pigments from the Game of Thrones collection,
and here are their swatches! :)

Though I haven't actually worn any of these yet,
I was very pleased with quality & pigmentation while swatching.
:)
Stay tuned for a/some look(s) using these soon!

Game of Thrones makeup series- House Martell

Hooray!
If you follow GoT at all so far this season,
you know that House Martell of Dorne is becoming increasingly bigger players.
(if you've read the books, then you REALLY know what's going on!)
In honor of that,
I wanted to use House Martell as the inspiration for my next installment
in my GoT makeup series!

Here's their sigil:

Based on their colors,
I created the following look!

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill's 'Love+' & Lime Crime's 'Siren'- crease
Sugarpill's 'Flamepoint'- highlight of crease
Lime Crime 'Circus Girl'- inner corner
BFTE 'Tangerine' & 'Wacky'- middle and outer lid
Covergirl Line Exact liquid eyeliner
Covergirl mascara

I freaking love these fiery combos together!
I feel like i've used a lot of reds, golds, and oranges in this series,
but there are prevalent within the GoT world!

Anyway,
I actually wore this look out in public. Twice.
I love it.
What do you guys think?

Game of Thrones makeup series- R'hllor, The Lord of Light

GAME OF THRONES PREMIER TODAY OMG.
In honor of that, I'm so excited to pick back up
my Game of Thrones makeup series!
(See HERE for all my Game of Thrones looks last year)

Today's look is based on R'hllor, the Lord of Light.
"For the night is dark and full of terrors."

In case you don't read the books or watch the series,
this is an increasingly popular and apparently strong
or 'real' God in Westeros.
His most prominent disciple is
the lady Melisandre, who's a freak in and of herself,
and who's also the guiding force behind Stannis Baratheon's movement.

Here's my look for R'hllor:

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill's 'Tako'- browbone
Lime Crime's 'Siren' inner corner
SYN Cosmetics' 'Ruthless' -lid
Sugarpill's 'Flamepoint', SYN Cosmetics' 'Blaze'- crease
BFTE's 'Lemon' and Sugarpill's 'Buttercupcake'- waterline

Although the yellow on the waterline turned out a bit too bright,
and the inner corners are a little sloppy,
I still like it.

The Lord of Light is all about fire (obviously),
and often blood sacrifice, so I think the reds were definitely a good choice.

Game of Thrones makeup series- The Unsullied

So today's look isn't about a particular person or House,
but rather about an instrumental group of people as far as Dany is concerned- the Unsullied.
This is an army of slaves that she acquired from Astapor.
Saying they're committed to fighting for her until death is an understatement.

Their tan skin and bronze armor is what inspired this look.

Annnnnd here's the look:

I used (all Urban Decay):
Primer Potion
24/7 Glide On pencil in 'Bourbon'- crease
'Mute' & 'M.I.A.'- crease
'Chase', 'Deeper', & 'Armor'- lid
'Anonymous'- brow bone

So although I like this look,
it didn't quite translate how I wanted it.
I wanted to make it angular, strong, and precise- just like the Unsullied.
But it wasn't quite as bold as I wanted it to be,
and the angle I used in the crease didn't really pan out.

Thus, it just looks like a brown smokey eye :/
Oh well.
Better luck next time, hopefully.

What do you guys think?

Not Too Polished- 'The Eyrie' & beauty mail!

Hello!
I have my final Game of Thrones polish from Not Too Polished to show you today.
Here's 2 coats of 'The Eyrie' over 1 coat of Essie's 'Bikini So Teeny'.

'The Eyrie' is a bluish-lavender jelly based filled with white micro glitter, large silver holo hexes, and giant white hexes. It does it's name justice. For those who don't know, the Eyrie (homestead of the House of Arryn) is in the North of Westeros. The castle sits super high on a cliff, and as you wind your way up to it, you eventually come through snow and then finally, high above the mountain tops around you. This polish looks exactly what the Eyrie seems to me to be!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Not Too Polished
Type: Jelly glitter
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 3-4
Application: Good!
Price: $7.50 for full size bottle
Get This: her Etsy site

I really liked this polish.
It's a unique color & went on great.
May definitely have to buy the other 2 GoT polishes she makes!

Side note,
more beauty mail finally came in today:

WOOOO! Can't wait to try those bright mattes.
You all definitely have some bright summer looks headed your way in the next month or so!
:)

Game of Thrones makeup series- 'House Targaryen'

So after last week's explosive episode,
I knew I had to make my next game of thrones look Targaryen in honor of Dany
& how awesome is character is becoming.

Here's the Targaryen's sigil:

Based on their colors & the drama/intensity that the house stands for,
here is the look I came up with.

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill's 'Love+' & BFTE's 'Addicted'- red on lid
Urban Decay's 'Black Market' & glittery black from Maybelline quad- lid
L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara

I really wanted it to be mostly black with dramatic corners
to illustrate how intense and strong the Targaryens are.
Not sure I succeeded, though.

I have to say, this was my LEAST favorite look in the GoT series so far.
I kind of knew the direction I was headed,
but it just didn't translate or come out exactly how I thought it would.
I'm not too sure I like it :/
May have to try it again further down in the series.

What do you guys think?
