Peppermint Kisses

Hey guys.
I have an exciting post for you today!
I ordered a couple polishes from Lush Lacquer's holiday collection awhile ago,
and they finally came in!

Here's the first one, 'Peppermint Kisses'.

A rare pic of my right hand!

'Peppermint Kisses' is a milky white base with various sizes of pink, red, white, and green hexagonal matte glitter. It's easily opaque in two coats. Though I'm sure it would look great over something else, I used this polish by itself to really highlight everything it has to offer. Here I used 3 coats.

Formula was pretty great. A liiiiilte on the thick side, but certainly workable. I actually think I painted the layers on a little too thick for the consistency of this polish, but I like it anyway. On longer nails that aren't short and stubby like mine- this polish will look GORGEOUS. It's a fun and festive polish :)

I purchased it here on their Etsy site for $9. You can also buy it off Llawrowe, but it's $11 :/
Shipping was much slower than usual, but it IS the holidays and totally understandable. They were very nice and apologized for any delay :)

Do any of the rest of you have this?
What's your favorite Lush Lacquer polish?
Thanks for reading!

Christmas Classics- Day 2

Hello everyone :)
I've got day 2 of my Christmas Classics series today,
where i'm featuring past favorite holiday polishes!

Next up,

This is 3 coats of CG's 'Blues Years Eve' and 2 coats of CG's 'Snowglobe' on my ring finger.
Both are from CG's holiday collection last year- Let It Snow!

'Blue Years Eve' is a deep, cobalt blue with light blue shimmer. It's a very pretty shade, i'm just not into wearing dark blue on my hands, for some reason. It's a little on the sheer side, but builds up opacity easily. Formula was great.

'Snowglobe' is a clear base of iridescent, multi colored glitter. It's a LOVELY top coat that literally looks great over any polish. It's really a chameleon- the glitter looks different depending upon what color you wear it with. I like that it compliments the dark blue here. It's wintery and happy :)

FYI...
new giveaway starts this Friday so stay tuned for that! ;)

A Merry Affair & blog sale info

Happy Monday!
-.-
Actually, I feel more amicable towards this monday than usual, seeing as how I don't have my horrid MWF class anymore. Be gone, loathsome professor. Mwahahahah.

Um, anyway- on to what you care about! :)
Here's the mani I wore the other night to match a burgundy skirt I wore to the company Christmas party. I've been meaning to feature both of these polishes, so I just killed two birds with one stone.

*cuticles are still scary, but not as bad as lately! Onwards and upwards!

On 4 fingers is 2 coats of Color Club's 'Winter Affair',
and on my ring finger is 2 coats of CG's 'Merry Berry' from the Holiday Joy collection.

'Winter Affair' is a deep burgundy flecked shimmer. It's so vampy! It does lean more on the purple side, but i'm okay with that. Coverage was great, formula was great.

'Merry Berry' is a glossy, berry jelly. It's very similar to Essie's 'Berry Naughty', but is just a tad bit more red. I don't usually like jellies, but this sucker went on beautifully and wore great also! :)

What do you guys think about these?
I love them!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I've still considering the blog sale,
but for someone who's never done it- it's quite a bit of work to set it up.
I don't want to bother if it's not going to be successful,
so i'm still toying with the idea.
I thought about showing a preview of the polishes in a post to even see if anyone is interested,
but I'm not sure yet.
What do you guys think?

Frosted Evergreen

Helloooo.
I have another simple Holiday look for you today.
Even though we don't have any snow here yet (we usually don't get it until jan. or feb., if we get it at all), I know a lot of people do- and winterscapes are some of my favorite.
SO, I decided to do look inspired by that.

The colors didn't transfer on here like they looked on my eyes
(they're much more green in real life),
and it's not as bold as I would have liked...
BUT- it's a look anyone could do :)

Again, nothing that exciting, but it reminded me of Evergreen trees heavy with snow :)
The corners are super wonky, but whatev.

I used:
UD Primer Potion
UD 'Strip', 'Polyester Bride', & LimeCrime's 'Mirror Mirror' - inner corner
UD's 'Homegrown'- middle part of lid
UD's 'Junkie' - outer part of lid
UD's 'Occupy' - crease
UD's 'Zephyr' on brow bone
Covergirl Line Exact liquid eyeliner
L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara

Simple and shimmery- just how I like it :)

Glitter all the way!

Happy Saturday!
We're heading out of town today for Tanner's company Christmas party.
They pay for everyone's dinner and our hotel rooms and everything,
so i'm rather excited for a night off :)

I have another polish from China Glaze's Holiday Joy collection today.
Here's 'Glitter All the Way'!

'Glitter All the Way' is a clear base chock full of gold, green, red, and purple glitter. Initially, this screamed Mardi Gras to me- not Christmas. It still kind of looks more show-me-your-boobs-for-some-beads than Christmas, but the red helps a little. EITHER WAY, it's so sparkly and gorgeous! Here I used 'Glitter All the Way' by itself, using 3 coats to show it's full effect. It went on easily and never got too clumpy or anything, which is often a problem with polishes like this. Overall, not very Christmasy, but  great buy!

Do any of you have this?
What are your thoughts on it?
Thanks for reading! :)

Old World Christmas look

Hey guys :)
I have another Christmas look for you today.
This look is a bit more toned down and uses classic Christmas colors like red, green, and gold.
I was inspired to do this look by a random similar picture I saw on Pinterest.

I used:
UD's Primer Potion
Sugarpill's 'Midori ', UD's 'Junkie' & 'Libertine' - inner & outer corners
UD's 'Blitz' & 'Honey'- middle of lid
Lime Crime's 'Siren' & Sugarpill's 'Love+' - crease
Covergirl Line Exact liquid eyeliner
L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara

What do you think?
It came off almost more Fall looking than I would have liked,
but it's not too bad.
I feel like this is a fun but yet wearable look for a Christmas party or something.
OR even if you're just in the Christmas spirit :)

ALSO,
I'm thinking of having a blog sale soon,
so keep a look out on here, my FB page, and my twitter for more info about that!

Reindeer nail art fail

Hey ya'll.
I have an attempt at nail art for you today.
Awhile ago on Pinterest I saw these adorable reindeer nails from TopCoat It,
and figured they were something I MIGHT be able to pull off with my limited skill in that area.

My hands are just too shaky,
(thanks a lot, genetics),
and I'm not crazy about how it turned out at all...
but figured i'd post anyway.
Maybe one of you pros can do it and actually do it well! :P

Needless to say, TopCoat It's were MUCH better!
:/

I used:
NOPI's 'Hard-Kourt Fashionista - base
Butter London's 'Yummy Mummy' - antlers
NOPI's 'Kourt is Red-y for a Pedi'- nose
Sally Hansen's 'White On' & Maybelline's 'Onyx Rush'- eyes
dotting tool
nail art brush

With someone who's actually good at nail art,
this can look great.
If any of you re-create this,
let me know! :)
Thanks for reading!

Christmas Classics- Day 1

Hey guys :)
I've decided to start a new series through the month of December featuring my favorite polishes that are at least about a year old or so. Some of them I attempted to feature back when I FIRST started my blog, but my pictures were even worse than they are now and I had like 5 followers, so I feel that it's okay to feature them again :)

First up is OPI's 'Designer...de Better' from their 2011 Muppets collection!

'Designer... de Better' is a pale gold foil with specks of reddish-orange. It was one of my favorite polishes last year and is most definitely in my overall favorite top 10 polishes ever. Though the brush is a little fat for my liking, it goes on BEAUTIFULLY and is a lovely holiday polish. I see this looking great on any skin tone, as well.

I'm sure loads of you have this,
so what are your thoughts on it?
ALSO,

my giveaway ends at midnight tonight so don't forget to go enter!
Thanks for reading! :)

Happy Saturday!
I'm feeling uber festive today,
and am even taking my daughter to see Santa :)

In honor of the Christmas season officially upon us with December starting today,
I have a fun and simply Christmas look for you.

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill's 'Love+' & MUG 'Razzleberry' on lid
NYX Jumbo eye pencil in 'Milk' at corners
UD's 'Homegrown' & 'Junkie' on lower lash line
UD's 'Anonymous' on brow bone
Covergirl Line Exact liquid eyeliner
L'oreal Million Voluminous Lashes mascara

This was SUPER simple to do and would be great for a Christmas party or something :)
I had a lot of fun wearing and creating it!
What do you think?

Candy Canes!

Hey!
I've finally got some nail art for you.
It's been forever since i've done any (and i'm not that great at it to begin with),
but I had a go at some candy cane inspired nails the other night.
I actually really liked how it turned out!

Tada!
For my unsteady, shaky hands- i'm rather pleased with this.
Festive and bright! :)
Clean-up is rather messy,
but this mani took me forever so i said screw ittttt :P

I used:
China Glaze 'Ruby Pumps'
Sally Hansen 'White On'
striping tape
Stripe Rite striper in silver

I felt more festive just wearing it :D
What do you think?
What's your favorite Christmas nail art?

Glitter & Glitz!

Happy Sunday!
Tanner and Layla are coming back to me this today after me being alone for the best few days, and i can't wait to see my baby girl! Although, the alone time was kind of nice. I got some decorating done, gorged myself on chocolate pie without no fear of judgement, and strutted around the apartment with no pants or bra. Boom. Livin' on the edge.

ANYWAY,
here's my fun and festive mani from the other day :)

This is 3 coats of Color Club's 'Ho Ho Holly', and then 2 coats of China Glaze's 'Pizzazz' on my ring finger.
'Ho Ho Holly' is a cheerful green/gold foil from Color Club's Winter Affair collection. The gold is most apparent in the second picture. Application was great, and the brush was perfect for my nail size. It 's almost opaque in 2 coats, but 3 coats guarantees it- along with bringing the color to full fruition. I LOVE IT. Just look at all that glitz!

'Pizzazz' is a clear base filled with multi colored pastel glitter from their Holiday Joy collection. Application was easy enough, but unfortunately, this is a polish we've ALL seen before from SOMEONE (OPI, DL, BL, Finger paints, NOPI, etc.). However, I really love the combo of the glitter with the green foil. Just bright and cheery :)

What are your thoughts?
Do you have either of these polishes?
Thanks for reading :)

Berry Naughty ;P

Happy weekend! :)
I actually made it through yesterday without a hitch,
so today shouldn't be bad at all :D

I have a lovely Essie polish that i'd been eyeballing for awhile.
I've already stated how i'm obsessed with anything cranberry- colored lately,
so when I saw this polish- i wanted it :x

Here's 'Berry Naughty'.

'Berry Naughty' is a deep cranberry (jelly?) that's almost opaque in 2 coats. It had really great consistency, which can't be said for all Essies. This is lovely Fall or Winter polish and is seriously awesome! Definitely think it will be another great base polish for Christmas nail art/stamping!

Jingle Jangle, Ya'll !

Happy Black Friday!
I'll be opening Pier 1 on this insane day,
so let's all take a moment to mourn the absence of my sanity today.

...

Anyway, being that today is the first day after Thanksgiving,
it's the day that I get my tree and start REALLY decorating for Christmas!
In honor of that,
I have a festive Christmas indie polish for you today :)

Here is 1 coat of Kawaii Nail Lacquer's 'Jingle Jangle' over 2 coats of Sally Hansen's 'White On' and 1 coat of Zoya's 'Gaia'.
* apologize for the mess! These pics are pre-cleanup bc I ran out of time & daylight :(

'Jingle Jangle' is a clear base with tiny green & red glitter, medium green, gold, and red hexagonal glitter, and some scattered bar glitter- and it part of her Winter Collection. I was very pleased with the consistency of this baby- not too clumpy (as often happens with these top coats) and not too runny.

Sally Hansen's 'White On' was a complete disappointment, but that's to be expected I suppose, as cheap as it was. It was super thick and balded horribly. I just needed a solid white base to use 'Gaia' over, so i made it work. 'Gaia', though hard to see in these pictures, is a beautiful, sheer white with gold shimmer. It's lovely!

All in all, the combos of both whites made the mani way too thick and it chipped/peeled easily
(even after a coat of SV).
You can already see some of that here, right after I painted them.
However, this was NOT 'Jingle Jangle's fault :)
I'm anxious to use it again over a different base.

I purchased 'Jingle Jangle' and 3 others from Kawaii Nail Lacquer's Etsy site,
but I believe individual polishes are sold out right now.
You can still buy the entire collection as a whole, though!
So far, so good :)

Holiday nail mail/haul!

Hey everyone!
Today is my last day of class before Thanksgiving.
I have to work Black Friday so I don't get much of a break,
but it's better than nothing.

Better yet, all my nail mail arrived today!
I've been accruing some of this for quite some time in anticipation for Christmas,
since it's my favorite :)
It's mostly nail polish, but a couple cosmetics in there as well.

These indie beauties from Kawaii Nail Lacquer!

These polishes from China Glaze Holiday Joy collection!

A few polishes from Color Club's Winter Affair collection:

A few from CG's new Cirque Du Soleil collection!

Lastly, UD's Optical Blurring Brush & NYX Jumbo liner in 'Milk'

My All-Time Favorite Color!

Helloooooo!
So in case you didn't know,
my favorite color is red.
I love all red,
but today's polish is my FAVORITE shade of red.
When I saw this polish I knew I had to have it :L

This is the first of many posts coming up that feature polishes from China Glaze's Holiday Joy collection!

Here's 'Cranberry Splash'.

<3333333
'Cranberry Splash' is a deep, ruby- red shimmer. It looks darker than my pictures in certain light, but for the most part I found this polish to be much brighter than a typical cranberry color... but whatever :P
Since this is my absolute favorite color, i'm of course in LOVE with this polish.

I used 2 coats here to reach full opacity. Formula was great, and I already know this is going to be a great base for some Christmas nail art :)

Do any of the rest of you have this, too?
Do you love it as much as I do?!
Thanks for reading :D
