* July 4th look *

Happy Independence Day!
For those of you from the US :)
In honor of this holiday,
I've recreated a patriotic look from one I found quite some time ago on Pinterest,
so this is by no means my own creation-
I just always thought it looked fun!

'Murica!
The red eyebrows are crazy and fun.
I see Phyrra color her eyebrows all the time and it can look cool,
although red eyebrows is never something I would wear out of my house, personally :)

I had a blast recreating this look.
Reminded me why I love makeup!
And Sugarpill & BFTE couldn't be better cosmetics to work with :D

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill's 'Tako'- browbone
BFTE's 'Blueberry' & Sugarpill's 'Afterparty'- crease
MUG's 'Razzleberry' & BFTE's 'Addicted'- lid
BFTE's 'Blue Bayou'- waterline
Covergirl Line Exact liquid eyeliner
L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes
'Razzleberry' over eyebrows

What do you think?
Have a safe & happy holiday!

From the Vault- 'Anita' & 'American Pie'

Happy Wednesday, guys!
I have two throwback polishes from last year for you guys.
Here is Darling Diva Polish's 'Anita' (2 coats)
over Essie's 'Blue Rhapsody', with Milani's Red FX & Pure Ice's 'Strapless' as accent nails.

'Anita' is from DDP last year, and is a clear base with holo microglitter, tiny holo hexes, and medium red, white, & blue hexes.

You can tell the Milani somehow missed my eye & got totally clumped and gross.
I was super pleased with the Pure ICE polish, though. Reminds me of the Pixie Dust polishes that are big now :)
'Anita' is a nice little topcoat, though a little gloopy.
Still love it over the Essie though.

Next up,
Candy Lacquer's 'American Pie' from last year over Sinful Colors' 'Sugar Rush':

'American Pie' is a clear base with red & white microglitter, medium red, white, & blue hexes, and white & blue bar glitter.

I can't figure out why I've never tried this indie brand again,
because it goes on flawlessly!
(although, it looks an awful lot like the polish form yesterday, doesn't it?)

Welp,
closing the vault back for now.
STAY TUNED for my July 4th makeup in tomorrow's post!
:D

This baby is jam packed with tons of different glitters!
I loveeeee it :)

July 4th nail art & indie

Happy Independence Day!
To all my international followers,
I know this day holds little significance for you (unless you're from the UK, heh heh),
but it's still a great excuse to drink, be with the people you love, and relax!

I've got some nail art to show you AND my third and final July 4th indie.

First up- the nail art.
:)
I know this is super simple, but I still quite like how it came out!
There's a lot going on, so i'll break it down for ya.
I used the following:

Thumb: China Glaze's 'White on White' as base; Sinful Colors Nail Art in red and blue
Pointer: Kleancolor 'metallic blue' with tiny confetti stars on top
Middle: CG's 'Blue Year's Eve'; stamped with BM20 & white Konad polish
Ring: Butter London's 'Knees Up'
Pinky: OPI's 'Into the Night'; stamped with BM14 & Konad white polish

It's been awhile since i've done any stamping,
so this holiday was a perfect excuse to do some :)

Next up,
my last July 4th indie polish to show you.

This is 1 coat of DarlingDivaPolish's 'Anita' over CG's 'White on White'.

'Anita' is a clear base with micro holographic glitter and large white (matte), red, & blue hexagonal glitter.

This is the polish i've been most excited to show you guys out of the 3,
and it's the one I ended up liking the least :(
The polish was just terribly gloopy and like it threw up all over my nails.
Despite only using 1 coat,
it was still really hard to work with.

I've bought one other glitter from this shop,
and it was the same way :(
I do know, however, that she has some other polishes which are not topcoats that are highly popular,
so it must just be these.

She does have a TON of other polishes in her shop that look great.
You can get 'Anita' and others for about $8.

That's it for me!
What do you guys think?

another July 4th look & an 'All That Glitters' polish

Helloooo!
There's so many things I want to do in honor of the holiday,
i don't think i'm going to be able to do them all :(... but i'm gonna do the best I can!
Which means packing posts chock full of as much as I can, haha.
I'm taking full advantage of this week of not having to do anything!

So, without further ado, the second look I've come up with for July 4th.
(see the other one here)

*i messed up the eyeliner on the left eye, oops :/
* inside, with flash

*natural light, no flash

So I just got the white eyeliner in the mail today, and i've been waiting for it to come in so that I could use it for another look. Everything else, I just kind of randomly tried. I like the look okay, but its definitely not something I would wear out in public. It was fun to create, though :)

I used:
Lime Crime's 'Siren' on most of eyelid
Urban Decay's 'Evidence' in outer corners
Lime Crime's 'Lunar Sea' eye liner
(will be doing a review of this^ soon!)

Next up- polish!

This is 'Glitter Glory' from All That Glitters.
I've been dying to snatch up some of her stuff,
and finally I caught her shop at a good time.
This polish is CHOCK FULL of teeny red, white, and blue hexagonal glitter.
The white is matte, while the red and blue are typical glitter.

Here I used just 2 coats of 'Glitter Glory'.
ISN'T IT AWESOME?!
I absolutely love it.
This is the first polish i've had that's like this,
and now I see why everyone loves them.

SO,
what do you guys think of everything?!
let me know below,
& have a great night!

First Candy Lacquer polish!

HAPPY MONDAY!
Normally, I would be feeling all 'meh' about mondays,
but since i don't have any classes this week- i ain't mad at 'em.

Anyway,
today's polish is the first of 3 July 4th indie polishes i'm going to be showing you guys.
:)

This is 2 coats of Candy Lacquer's 'American Pie' over 2 coats of Revelon's Dreamer'.

'American Pie' is chocked full of crazy awesome glitters! It's a clear base with red and white microglitter, white and blue bar glitter, small blue and white hexagonal glitter, large red, white, and blue hexagonal glitters, blue stars, and large white squares!! There may even be more, but all that I could decipher for now :)

I had never bought anything from this shop before, so I wasn't sure what to expect- but i LOVE this polish. Such a great topcoat with so much diversity inside. You can get this polish along with MANY other awesome ones in her Etsy shop, for about $8. I know I, for one, am definitely planning on buying more from this shop.

What's your favorite indie?!
Stay tuned for another July 4th indie tomorrow,
and don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't done so!!!

4th of July splatter mani AND a little surprise at the end ;)

Happy Friday!!
My June classes are finally OVER,
and I get to relax this next week :D
So stoked.
BUT-

i'm even more stoked about this post!! So much to share with you lovely readers :)
First up, i've heard a lot of people talking about july 4th splatter mani's lately,
and since it's been a long time since i've done one,
I figured now was a good time to do one!

*left hand

*right hand

Hooray! I LOVE this. Splatter manis are so fun (albeit messy) to do anyway,
but doing July 4th colors made it all the more enjoyable.
Though I taped off my fingers,
clean up was still a PAIN,
and you can see there are definitely places I missed... but it was getting late so I said screw it, haha.
Overall, I totally love it.

Here are the colors I used:
* From L to R: 'Blue Sparrow', 'Kimmy', & 'White on White'

You can see on my left hand some blobs of color,
and that was due to the formula of the blue and red being more runny than the polishes I used last time do a splatter, so I wasn't prepared for how easy they'd drip.
But I still think it turned out okay :)

I hope you guys are ready for more 4th of July stuff,
because I've got THREE indie polishes for the holiday i'll be featuring in the next several days! :)

NOW...
for those of you that made it this far-
I'M HOSTING A GIVEAWAY!
I'm opening it next week,
and this time it will be just me hosting it,
so mailing things out to winner's should be super easy since two schedules don't have to try to mesh.
I'll post a formal post announcing the giveaway soon,
but wanted to let my faithful readers know early! ;)
Hint: It will consist of a certain neon collection AND makeup!!

Thanks for reading!
love you guys!

Early 4th of July look! :)

Helloooooo!
The end of the week is near in sight,
and that means that these hellish classes are almost over!
hoorah!

I was so excited with my bit of free time this afternoon that I decided to do an early July 4th look ;) My weekend is super full, so i'm not sure how much time i'll have to devote to my blog. In lieu of that, I decided to post this little baby a little early :)

(excuse my horrible cowlick eyebrow!)

*indoors, with flash

*natural light, no flash

Tada!
I REALLY, really love this! I just love how everything came together and is so bright and festive. I DO wish I could blend these shadows a bit better, but they're matte and require a couple swipes for opacity- which is not something i'm used to having to do. So i'll continue practicing :)

I used:
Sugarpill's 'Tako' on inner eyelid
SP's 'Afterparty' on rest of eyelid
SP's 'Love+' in crease/brow bone
Covergirl's Line Exact liquid eyeliner
Maybelline's Falsies mascara

Anyway...
what do ya think?!
