From the Vault- 'Pelican Grey' & 'Snowglobe'

Well even though it's in the freaking 60's in January here in TN,
I'm going to at least have some snow of my nails!

Today's post are definitely form the vault.
They're two polishes from at least a couple years ago:
one from China Glaze & one from Kawaii Nail Lacquer :)

Here's the combo:

This is 2 coats of 'Pelican Grey' and 2 coats of 'Snowglobe' :)
Festive and sparkly!

'Snowglobe'

Happy Super Bowl day!
I don't know about you guys, but i'm rooting for the Ravens :))
I can't wait for the commercials, too.
Although last year there weren't many that were that funny...
Anyway, middle TN got a mini snowstorm yesterday,
so it was a perfect day for this polish!

Here's 2 coats of Kawaii Nail Lacquer's 'Snowglobe' over
2 coats of Dollish Polish's 'A Bad Case of Blue Balls'.
I did such an atrocious paint job that it pains me to post these pics,
But I don't know when i'll have a better time to post them!

Macro!

'Snowglobe' is a clear base with silver & light blue microglitter, light blue, medium hexagonal glitter, medium silver holographic glitter, large white hexagonal glitter, & sparse white bar glitter. This is the 4th and final christmas/holiday polish I purchased from her recently.

Have you tried any polishes from Kawaii Nail Lacquer?

Let it Snow!

Hello!
I have another polish from Kawaii Nail Lacquer's holiday collection for you today.
I did all the Christmas-y ones first, so now I have the Winter-y ones left :)
They are some of my favorites, too!

I'm pathetically hopeful that we here in TN will get some snow (the kind that sticks) soon,
but at this point, i'll take even flurries. I love snow :) Thus, I'll be having several snow themed posts for the next few days.

Here's 1 coat of 'Let it Snow' over China Glaze's 'Icicle'.

'Let it Snow' is a clear base with tiny sapphire & white glitter, white bar glitter (intermittently), and large white & sapphire hexagonal glitter. This is the 4th polish from Kawaii Nail Lacquer that i've tried, and so far i've loved ALL of them! The always apply evenly and aren't too gloopy or thick, despite all the glitter.

The only downside to 'Let it Snow' is that i DID have a problem with most of the bar glitter curling a couple hours after applying it (even with a coat of SV), but I love the polish anyway so I don't even care ;)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Kawaii Nail Lacquer
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Awesome!
Opacity (1-5):  1
Application: Super easy, just give it a little shake beforehand
Price: $8? I think :/
Get This: Currently sold out, but CHECK OUT her Etsy for other great polishes!!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Merry Christmas Eve!
I can't wait  to see my daughter open all her presents tomorrow morning.
This is the first year that she will really realize what's going on,
so it's going to be so much fun :D

I have another awesome polish that was gifted to me from the bestie from Kawaii Nail Lacquer!
(see my other KNL posts here & here).
The sun didn't come out a single time the day I had this mani :(
And it looks like today and Christmas are going to be rainy and cloudy again too, meh.

Anyway, here's 1 coat of 'Peppermint Pattie' over 2 coats of Butter London's 'Yummy Mummy'!

'Peppermint Pattie' is a clear base with tiny white circular glitter, medium and large sized red & white hexagonal glitter, and intermittent white bar glitter. Pairing this polish with a brown made me think of one of my favorite things about cold weather- hot chocolate. 'Yummy Mummy' is probably a little too light to imitate hot chocolate, but it works well enough :)

POLISH INFORMATIONBrand: Kawaii Nail Lacquer
Type: Top Coat
Formula: Pretty good, slightly gloopy... but nothing a good shaking couldn't handle!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Price: $8
Get This: Etsy
Recommend: Yes

What do you guys think about the combination?
Thanks for reading!
Be careful traveling out & about tonight :)

Nail mail & Christmas Indie/Christmas Classics- Day 3!

Hello!
Today is my LAST day of this semester!
I have my last (and hardest) final later this morning and it's going to be impossible :/
I'm just ready for it all to be over so i cant enjoy everything about Christmas :D

Okay, two parts to today's post.
First, here's the mani for today.
This is 2 coats of CG's 'Icicle' as a base,
and 2 coats of Kawaii Nail Lacquer's 'Ho Ho Ho' on top!

'Ho Ho Ho' is  clear base with various sized red, green, and white hexagonal matte glitter. There is also some scattered white bare glitter in there, as well. Out of the 4 i've ordered from her holiday collection, this one is my favorite! :) I was going to save this one to wear on Christmas day, but I couldn't wait. I applied it a little too thickly and should have manipulated the glitter more, but I still like it. You can get this and other AWESOME polishes here at her Etsy site. This was $8.

'Icicle' serves as the base for this polish. It's a classic silver foil from CG's Let It Snow collection from last year. It's easily opaque in 2 coats and went on beautifully! I kind of cheated here, because 'Icicle' also serves as Day 3 of my Christmas Classics series ;p On Kawaii Nail Lacquer's website, they had 'Ho Ho Ho' over a silver, and I liked it so much that I figured I'd do the same. I think it would look great over a black, too, though

All in all, I was super pleased with this mani!

Now, on to the nail mail!
It didn't really come in the mail,
but rather via my awesome bestie over at GaGa for Nails!
She dropped by yesterday to give me my Christmas present,
and here they are!

Aha! Can you guess what they are?
Stay tuned in the coming weeks to see!
Thanks so much to her for being amazing and generous! :D

Jingle Jangle, Ya'll !

Happy Black Friday!
I'll be opening Pier 1 on this insane day,
so let's all take a moment to mourn the absence of my sanity today.

...

Anyway, being that today is the first day after Thanksgiving,
it's the day that I get my tree and start REALLY decorating for Christmas!
In honor of that,
I have a festive Christmas indie polish for you today :)

Here is 1 coat of Kawaii Nail Lacquer's 'Jingle Jangle' over 2 coats of Sally Hansen's 'White On' and 1 coat of Zoya's 'Gaia'.
* apologize for the mess! These pics are pre-cleanup bc I ran out of time & daylight :(

'Jingle Jangle' is a clear base with tiny green & red glitter, medium green, gold, and red hexagonal glitter, and some scattered bar glitter- and it part of her Winter Collection. I was very pleased with the consistency of this baby- not too clumpy (as often happens with these top coats) and not too runny.

Sally Hansen's 'White On' was a complete disappointment, but that's to be expected I suppose, as cheap as it was. It was super thick and balded horribly. I just needed a solid white base to use 'Gaia' over, so i made it work. 'Gaia', though hard to see in these pictures, is a beautiful, sheer white with gold shimmer. It's lovely!

All in all, the combos of both whites made the mani way too thick and it chipped/peeled easily
(even after a coat of SV).
You can already see some of that here, right after I painted them.
However, this was NOT 'Jingle Jangle's fault :)
I'm anxious to use it again over a different base.

I purchased 'Jingle Jangle' and 3 others from Kawaii Nail Lacquer's Etsy site,
but I believe individual polishes are sold out right now.
You can still buy the entire collection as a whole, though!
So far, so good :)

Holiday nail mail/haul!

Hey everyone!
Today is my last day of class before Thanksgiving.
I have to work Black Friday so I don't get much of a break,
but it's better than nothing.

Better yet, all my nail mail arrived today!
I've been accruing some of this for quite some time in anticipation for Christmas,
since it's my favorite :)
It's mostly nail polish, but a couple cosmetics in there as well.
