Spotted: Fall!

Now that Fall (and bits of winter?) is definitely here to stay,

I decided to do fun & simple Fall nail art :)

I love using my dotting tool,

so I just went with that.

That's Zoya's 'Flynn' as a base,

and the dots are Sally Hansen's 'Red Carpet', Zoya's 'Thandie',

& an unnamed metallic gold from Kleancolor :)

I'm no pro at nail art,

thus why I never do it,

but I wanted to at least attempt some this time.

July 4th nail art & indie

Happy Independence Day!

To all my international followers,

I know this day holds little significance for you (unless you're from the UK, heh heh),

but it's still a great excuse to drink, be with the people you love, and relax!

I've got some nail art to show you AND my third and final July 4th indie.

First up- the nail art.

I know this is super simple, but I still quite like how it came out!

There's a lot going on, so i'll break it down for ya.

I used the following:

Thumb: China Glaze's 'White on White' as base; Sinful Colors Nail Art in red and blue

Pointer: Kleancolor 'metallic blue' with tiny confetti stars on top

Middle: CG's 'Blue Year's Eve'; stamped with BM20 & white Konad polish

Ring: Butter London's 'Knees Up'

Pinky: OPI's 'Into the Night'; stamped with BM14 & Konad white polish

It's been awhile since i've done any stamping,

so this holiday was a perfect excuse to do some :)

Next up,

my last July 4th indie polish to show you.

This is 1 coat of DarlingDivaPolish's 'Anita' over CG's 'White on White'.

'Anita' is a clear base with micro holographic glitter and large white (matte), red, & blue hexagonal glitter.

This is the polish i've been most excited to show you guys out of the 3,

and it's the one I ended up liking the least :(

The polish was just terribly gloopy and like it threw up all over my nails.

Despite only using 1 coat,

it was still really hard to work with.

I've bought one other glitter from this shop,

and it was the same way :(

I do know, however, that she has some other polishes which are not topcoats that are highly popular,

so it must just be these.

She does have a TON of other polishes in her shop that look great.

You can get 'Anita' and others for about $8.

nail mail, mardis gras, & awards! (long post)

Woo! Though I won't be showing my ta-tas to get any beads today, 
I still think it's a fun 'holiday'.
I did a lovely little checkerboard mani today with the appropriate mardi gras colors,
& OF COURSE I just didn't allow it to dry in time, my daughter got fussy... and well, you can figure out the rest.
 Basically they looked like a smudged mess after I'd spent a couple hours (on and off) on them. humph >.<
So although I don't have a picture of the mani, 
I at least have a pic of the polishes I used:

Kleancolor's Metallic 'Jungle', 'Yellow', & 'Purple'.
They don't have names because they're mini's and are part of the Techno set, which I swatched way back in the beginner days of my blog.
Basically, they're some of my favorite metallics ever. The whole set is SO RICH and luxe, it's ridiculous.


** note: a few of these polishes DO stain quite badly :/

I've Got the Blues Week : Day 6- Kleancolor metallic

Hello everyone!

Although blue's week has been fun, i can't lie- i'm ready for it to be over. I've gotten so many new goodies in the mail that I can't wait to show you guys! But just one day left :e

For tonight I give you this sweet metallic:

This navy blue metallic is from Kleancolor's Techno High mini collection. It doesn't have a name :c I love the richness of all the colors in this set, but the quality does seem a little so-so. It was pretty thick and difficult to apply smoothly. The fabulous color makes up for it, though. These are the only Kleancolor polishes I have... does anyone else have any? What has been your experience with them?

Aside from my daughter, my other passion in life is music. I'm going to try to pair a corresponding song with each of my posts just to share with you guys what I love or am listening to :)



Though this song has no lyrics, the song title hits the mark :p
& it's also something i've been listening to a lot lately.

techno nails!

hello all !

So finalllllly my little Christmas present to myself arrived in the mail today! :p

Kleancolor's 'Techno High' metallic mini collection!

I found these on Amazon for like $7 and thought they looked super cool. As i've already stated, i'm hardly the nail artist or enthusiast that most of you are. My fingernails are mostly crap because i've bitten them for years (until just recently, when I decided to quit), I never get manicures, and... yeah, they just suck. But i've always thought nail polish was super fun- I just never had the confidence to draw attention to my nails since they were so bad.

So now that i'm allowing my fingernails to finally grow, i've jumped whole-heartedly on the nail polish bandwagon!

So anyway, I wanted to try every one of these simultaneously and didn't have the time or patience to devote a whole hand to each polish, so I just used fingers :)

*note: due to budget constraints, i'm having to wait awhile before I can order new contacts. SO, seeing as how i lost one the other day and now just have ONE contact in, (the one currently in my left eye), please excuse my godforsaken painting jobs in these posts... i squeeze the 'bad' eye shut when I do them but my depth perception is still absolute crap :X

These polishes are awesome. I was surprised how much I liked the brown, actually; it's chocolate-y richness was most unexpected. I believe the brown, pink, & green are my favorites. The polish's consistency was a little on the thick side, but not so much so that I didn't like it. Overall, for seven bucks, i'd definitely recommend! :D
