Too Faced's Rock 'N Roll palette

So I've been seeing this palette from Too Faced pop up various places lately,
and when I saw the vibrant, metallic swatches- I knew I had to have it.
A week, eBay purchase, and $34 later- I got it!

The idea behind the palette was to provide shadows & instructions to create 3 separate looks,
characterized as either Easy (top row), Classic (middle row), & Fashion (bottom row):

Time for swatches!

You can see there are a mix of metallics, satins, 1 matte, and glitters in this palette :)

The larger shadows I would use on the brow bone & inner corners:

Then you have the darker shadows for the lids/crease:

I cannot freaking wait to create some looks with these bad boys.
Have any of you tried this palette?
What are your thoughts?

Caribbean Cruise

Hello, everyone!
I just got back from my honeymoon, (Princess Cays and Turks & Caicos),
and I did a Caribbean inspired look for it :)
Summer in October, hey hey.

Here's my Caribbean Cruise, last-of-summer look:

I was focused mainly on that Caribbean-water blue on the second half of the lid :)
It matched my dress perfectly, and I thought it looked exactly like the water outside our window!

I used (all UD shadows):
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
'Vanilla'- inner corner
'Deep End'- second half of lid
'Prank' & 'Revolver'- crease
'Madness'- highlight over crease
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner
L'Oreal mascara (to be reviewed soon!!)

What do you guys think of this look?
Remind you of the beach?

Bondage, Baby

Okay, so this look has more than just Bondage in it,
but I like the title :P

For anyone starting to feel incredibly uneasy, but Bondage I'm referring to an eyeshadow,
not S&M.

I did a look today using several shadows from Urban Decay's new Vice 3 palette that i acquired a couple weeks ago.
Today was really the first chance I've had to play around with it,
and it's amazeballs.
( full post of swatches coming soon)

The rest of the shadows came from older Vice palettes.

Here's Bondage, Baby.

This look would be a sultry, nighttime/date night look.
The colors I used reminded me very much of Fall, too.
I'm IN LOVE with 'Sonic' and 'Bondage',
and will def use them more in the future.

I used:

'Lucky', 'Sonic', and 'Bondage' are all from Vice 3.
'Ambush' and 'Derailed' are form Vice 2,
and 'Freebird' is from the original Vice!

Check back soon to see full swatches of the Vice 3 palette :)

Beauty Mail ! - Sleek Candy Collection palette

I've had several successes with Sleek palettes in the past.
So when I was browsing and came across this palette the other week,
I knew I had to try it.
The colors are fun and bright-
just in time for Spring around the corner!

This is Sleek's LE Candy palette:

The mineral shadows are all matte, satin, or shimmer.
I cannot freaking wait to try these out.

Here are some swatches!

Has anyone else tried this particular palette?
Rest assured you'll see some looks with these babies soon!

* REVIEW* Too Faced's Jingle All the Way makeup set

So yeah,
this is Christmas-themed...
but nothing else about this palette screams Christmas.
In fact, it's full of great, everyday shades!

Read on for more...

The Product
Too Faced released the Jingle All the Way palette around Christmas (duh),
but it's made for so much more than that.

Some of my everyday makeup necessities are from Too Faced,
but I had never tried any of their shadows.
So, when I saw this bad boy on Sephora's website for $19-
I scooped it up!

Some of it's Claims:
- Contains "touch-up read" products
- 11 "Day-to-night" eye shadows
- Bronzer
- Blush
-Comes with iPhone 5 case designed by Mary Macdonald

The Review
I was really excited to try this makeup set mainly because of the shadows.
I was in need of some new neutrals,
and the pops of color intrigued me, as well.

Here are swatches of 9 of the shadows!

The shadows are a mixture of mattes, glitters, and satin shimmers
:)
The neutrals are my favorites, and I use them for my daytime, everyday look.
I've also tried to pink & teal,
and they go on wonderfully.

And here is the bronzer and blush:

I already have a blush I use by Tarte,
so I don't use this blush on a regular basis.
It's a little too bright for me,
but it's cute all the same.

I never use bronzer anyway, so I haven't tried this bronzer yet :/

The back of the makeup set also serves as an iPhone 5 case:

I don't have an iPhone 5,
so this case won't be coming off the back of the set.
It still looks cute, though?
I don't know if I would use it for my phone even if i did have an iPhone 5 though,
because the case is plastic, thin, and seems a littttttle flimsy/cheap.

PROS:
- Lovely shadows, with a little bit of everything
- JUST $19 DOLLARS!
- Bonus bronzer and blush
- Super easy to fit into a purse, or even some pockets
- Free iPhone 5 case, or at least a neat back (if you don't have an iPhone 5)
- Easy to transition from a daytime look to a nighttime one!

CONS:
- iPhone case is pretty flimsy, but you're not buying this set for the  case anyway :P
- Most of the eye shadow tiles are so small that it's hard to get them on some brushes
- it's $19 dollars
- It would be nice if it came with a mirror! That's really the only thing it's lacking...

Verdict
Whether or not I suggest you buy this makeup set depends on your budget and expectations.
If you're the type of person who's just looking for a small palette or shadows that are neutral, but don't really care if it's a prestige brand- this makeup set is not for you. $19 WOULD seem a little pricey if that's all you were looking for, and that's okay! :)
However, if you're the type of person who doesn't mind spending a couple extra bucks for prestige cosmetics or just loves Too Faced, I definitely recommend this product.
I really love how the shadows, blush, and bronzer are all together... now if only it came with a mirror! :)

RATING (OUT OF 10): 8.5

Lovey Dovey Peacock

Happy Valentine's Day, fellow bloggers!
I'm killing two birds with one stone this post.
I wanted to have a look for Vday,
but I also wanted to use my new shadows from my Too Faced palette.

Thus, I came up with this look:

I used all unnamed shadows from the
Too Faced Jingle All the Way palette:
a pink, a glittery teal, and a soft beige.

Very peacock-ish.
But I like the pink with it, too :)

Mystic Nights 2.0

So last year, about this time, I created a look called Mystic Nights.
I really love the dark, forest-y, mysterious shades together,
so I figured I'd recreate it :)

Here's version 2.0 WITH a funky lip!

I tried to do an ombre lip with my two favorite lime crime lipsticks,
but it didn't work out too well :/
Other than that,
I freaking love this look.

I used solely UD's Vice2 palette on my lids.
Here are the specifics:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
'Prank' & 'Madness'- crease
'Damaged'- lid
'Prank' & 'Lovesick- outer corner of lid
'Betrayal'- waterline
Covergirl Bombshell mascara
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner

Lime Crime 'Airborn Unicron' & 'Oh No She Didn't'- lips

Beauty Mail!

My purchases with my Sephora gift card I got from Christmas arrived yesterday!
Here they are:

Too Faced's Jingle All the Way palette
& iPhone5 case

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics'
Lip Tar 'Black Metal Dahlia'

I have never tried any Too Faced shadows,
so I'm stoked to try this.
Also, I've NEVER tried any Obsessive Compulsive products,
but I've seen this lip tar blogged about and it looks
UHMAZING.

What do you guys think about these products?
What have your experiences been with them, if any?

September favorites

So I realize I'm a couple days late,
but it's time for my favorites from last month!

1. Covergirl LashBlast Clump Crusher mascara

This is by far the best mascara i've used in awhile,
especially for a drugstore brand.
Check out my very recent full review of it here :)

2. Urban Decay's Vice 2 palette.

They really outdid themselves with this palette.
I own almost every palette/shadow from UD,
and these are by far the most satin-y smooth than any they've ever released!
I highly, highly suggest you get it if you can!
See swatches of them all here :)

3. Maybelline 'Totally Toffee'

This bad boy is a perfect lipstick for Fall.
I picked it up at a local drugstore about a month ago,
and i've worn it constantly since.
It goes with everything, and gives a nice, slight shade to my lips!

4. The mini palette within Sephora Smoky Studio II
^^

See that smaller palette? Yeah, that's what I'm referring to.
You can choose any 3 rows from this palette and pop them out
and into the smaller palette--
and take them anywhere with you!
I've been using the neutrals on the left tons this past month.
So glad I made this purchase awhile ago!

Look w/ Lancome Color Design 'Mint Jolie' palette

So among some other awesome Lancome goodies I got for my birthday
was this gorgeous palette: Lancome Color Design in 'Mint Jolie'.

Gorgeous, right?!
You can see it gives you 5 shimmery shadows along with two mini brushes.
I've never used an Lancome products,
but was super stoked to try this bad boy.

For my first time playing with this,
I just used the shadows in their recommended areas.
Here's what I ended up with:

I also used Lancome 'Red Stiletto' on my lips.

I don't have much mint green colored shadows at all,
and I REALLY loved how this looked on my eyes.
The shadows applied easily and were great quality (as to be expected from Lancome).
The only thing I didn't like was the highlighter shadow.
Though gorgeous, it's a bit too chunky of a glitter for me & is a little hard to apply.
Other than that, however- i love this palette!

The lipstick is definitely a kick ass red ;)
Love it.

What are your thoughts?
Have you tried Lancome?
Let me know!
