Latest SYN Cosmetics shadows/swatches!

Hellurrrrr.
Though I haven't been blogging/doing anything exciting with makeup lately,
I'm still a lover of SYN Cosmetics' stuff.
I recently got 5 new shadows/glitters in the mail,
and I wanted to share them with you!

Here they are over a Too Faced shadow primer:
(no editing!!)

She's currently out of my all time favorite shadows, Synfused, so 'Slim' is a nice alternative!
(If you look at most looks I've done in the past year or so- there's a good chance I used 'Synfused' in most of them)
'Entice' is another one I've used before that I LOVED,
so replenishing it was necessary, obvi.

This is a metallic shadow and glitter,
both of which are new to me.
I foresee doing some amazing Fall looks with 'Zone'!
:P

You can check out these and more on the SYN Cosmetics website here.

Easter polishes!

HAPPY EASTER!
Today is the day the Lord has made :)
I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Praise God for such a wonderful day today.
Also, I have some exciting and adorable Easter polishes for you!
Both from Pop Culture Cosmetics!

This is 'Bunny Trail' over Essie's 'To bUy or Not to Buy'

Secondly, 'Easter Dress' over Sinful Colors' !

4/18/14

Pop Culture Cosmetics- 'Happy Daisy'

My second PCC polish is this happy, festive top coat.
Here's 2 coats of 'Happy Daisy' over
2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'Unicorn'.

'Happy Daisy' is a clear top coat filled with all sizes of yellow
and white hexes. There are a couple white daisy glitters in there,
but their super hard to get to, even with a toothpick :/

Despite that, this is such a happy, lighthearted mani that I don't even care
if the daisies come out or not-
the combo is still adorable!

What do you think?

Pop Culture Cosmetics 'Smart & Sassy'

I haven't had a Pop Culture Cosmetics polish in awhile,
but when I saw their new Spring/Easter polishes-
I had to have some.

Here's the first of several,
'Smart & Sassy' over Sinful Colors' 'Cotton Candy'

'Smart & Sassy' is a light pink jelly filled with large blue stars,
Large blue, neon yellow, and pink hexes, small & square iridescent glitter,
and yellow, blue, & pink micro-glitter.

I was quite pleased with this polish?
It's super adorable and great for Spring :)

4/15/14

Revlon Matte Balm Stain- 'Audacious'

Whew!
Sorry it's been almost/over a week since I posted last.
I've had so much going on with job fairs, wedding planning,
and now moving houses!

Anyway,
ya'll know I'm in love with Revlon's Matte Balm Stains,
(see a full review of them here)
and now that it's Spring/close to Summer,
I was ready to pick up some brighter colors :)

Here's 'Audacious'!

'Audacious' is a bright, peachy-orange shade.
:)

It's much brighter than these pictures can show,
AND I LOVE IT.
!!!

As always, the formula and wearability of these balm stains are incredible.
I HIGHLY recommend you scoop one or two of these babies up for the coming season,
if you haven't already!

'Everything But the Kitchen Sink'

I have my second polish from the new (to me) indie maker,
Indie Polish.
:)

Here's 'Everything But the Kitchen Sink' :)

'Everything But the Kitchen Sink' is a clear topcoat filled with various sizes
and shapes of glitter: hexes, shreds, micro glitter- everything :)
If not black, the colors of the glitter were all Spring-like,
which is what prompted be to buy the polish now.

It's a super cute top coat :)

Grass is Lime Greener

I have my last polish from China Glaze's City Flourish collection to show you today.
It's easily my second favorite of the bunch.
This bad boy is essentially a neon and SCREAMS awesomeness.

Here's 3 coats of 'Grass is Lime Greener'.

'Grass is Lime Greener' is a (shockingly!) neon lime green creme.
IT'S AMAZEBALLS.
Totally perfect for the coming summer.
I can already tell I'll be wearing it to every show I got to :)

Metro Pollen-tin

This could not be a more appropriate polish since my eyes are RAVAGED
by the pollen from everything blooming right now.
fml.

Anyway, here's another polish from CG's new City Flourish Spring collection.
This is 3 coats of 'Metro Pollen-ton'.

'Metro Pollen-tin' is a rich "marigold-yellow".
This is one of the few yellow polishes Ive seen hat actually looks good on your nails.
It wasn't streaky, simulating the color of poop or fungus...
it's just a solid polish :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: China Glaze
Type: Creme
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Good
Price: $7
Get This: online or local beauty stores like Sally's and Ulta

CG's NEW 'Petal to the Metal'

This is probably my most FAVORITE polish of this season, period.
It reminds me faintly of 'Flip Flop Fantasy' from CG a couple years ago,
and i loveddddddd that polish. Still do :)

Here's 3 coats of 'Petal to the Metal' from CG's City Flourish Spring 2014 collection.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: China Glaze
Type: Creme
Formula: Eh, it was pretty streaky :/
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Okay. Nothing to rave about, but it was decent.
Price: $7 for a mini
Get This: online or local beauty stores like Sally's and Ulta

I freaking ADORE this polish.
It's basically a neon and is just perfect for the upcoming season.
However, the streaky-ness does completely suck. Meh.

CG's NEW 'In a Lily Bit'

So all of you know China Glaze recently released
a new collection for Spring 2014- City Flourish.
IT'S AMAZING.
I've bought several polishes from it,
and today is the first of those :)

Here's 3 coats of 'In a Lily Bit'.

'In a Lily Bit' is a super pastel lilac creme.
It looks almost pastel pink in some light.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: China Glaze
Type: Creme
Formula: Eh, it was pretty streaky :/
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Okay. Nothing to rave about, but it was decent.
Price: $7 for a mini
Get This: online or local beauty stores like Sally's and Ulta

I looooove this color,
but I was super disappointed in how streaky the formula was.
After 3 coats and a top coat- it evened out fine, though.

'On a Clear Day'

OH HAI.

Did you think I'd forgotten about you?
I haven't! I've just been SUPER freaking swamped.
I've been going to bed as soon as all my stuff is done and daughter is put to bed,
and the time that's usually able to be spent on myself (i.e. blogging)-
I've spent going to bed early instead :x

Anyway, I have a polish from a completely NEW indie maker!
Well, new to me anyway.
I hadn't even heard of the brand until recently.
Here's 2 coats of 'On a Clear Day' from Indie Polish !

'On a Clear Day' is a turquoise polish with juuuuuust a hint of shimmer.
It's really lovely, especially for the upcoming seasons :)
I was really impressed with this polish.

GO check out her store;
she's got some really cool & unique polishes there!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Indie Polish
Type: Shimmrt
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 4-5
Application: Fantastic
Price: $4 for a mini

PCC- 'Winter Wonderland'

Even though Spring is right around the corner for us in TN,
I know lots of states are still dealing with tons of snow.
Here's the last of my Pop Culture Cosmetics winter polishes :)

This is 2 coats of 'Winter Wonderland' over Zoya's Phoebe

'Winter Wonderland' is a clear base with tons of iridescent micro glitter,
small, medium, and large white circle glitter, and large white snowflakes.

I really like it over the blue base.
It makes it look more wintery or something :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Good, but you definitely have to dig for the bigger glitters.
Price: $4 for a mini
Get This: no longer sold :/

What do you guys think about this top coat?
It's winter-ful! ;P

Beauty Mail ! - Sleek Candy Collection palette

I've had several successes with Sleek palettes in the past.
So when I was browsing and came across this palette the other week,
I knew I had to try it.
The colors are fun and bright-
just in time for Spring around the corner!

This is Sleek's LE Candy palette:

The mineral shadows are all matte, satin, or shimmer.
I cannot freaking wait to try these out.

Here are some swatches!

Has anyone else tried this particular palette?
Rest assured you'll see some looks with these babies soon!

Revlon Matte Balm in 'Elusive'

I just can't get enough of these bad boys from Revlon.
Every one I try is as good or better.
Here's 'Elusive' !

This balm is a muted, blush, rose and is just lovely.
It's perfect for any season.

I am completely in love with it :)

Valentine's Day nail art & mani

Ya'll know I'm NOT good at nail art.
I saw a design on Pinterest that I wanted to try and recreate...
-___-
It turned out pretty crappy.
But i'll post anyway!

This is SUPPOSED to be heart shaped balloons.
But... yeah.
Didn't quite work out.
I got my hand to stop shaking long enough to do a somewhat decent job
on the hearts, but the black strings are wayyyy too thick.

Also, I have a super girl and simply mani for you:

This topcoat is one of the first indie polishes I ever bought
a couple years ago.

This is 'Monsta Love' from GlitterDaze.
Very fun :)
Nice little throwback,
as it was originally posted here.

* REVIEW * Wet N Wild Mega Slicks Lip Balm Stain

So i've been seeing these bad boys bounce around the blogging world recently,
and thanks to my newfound love for this style of lip color,
(all thanks to Revlon)
I figured I'd give one a go.

The Product:
I'm not sure if Wet N Wild or Revlon started this whole lip balm thing first,
( I just know I tried Revlons first),
but I'm pretty sure these by Wet n Wild came afterwards.
Regardless of the inspiration for the product,
these balm stains are designed to be like lipstick,
but not the... how do I word it?... 'thick' texture that comprises most lipsticks.

The balm stain I scooped up was 'A Stiff Pink':

Ok, so aside from the weird and slightly sexual name, here are the claims...

Some of its Claims:
- Provides a smooth, "kissable" pout
- Conditions the lips, thanks to the Acai Palm oil
- No feathering
-6 shades
- Gives a unique, "minty", cooling sensation
- Long lasting power

The Review
The product caught my eye in the drugstore mainly because it appeared to be similar
to the Revlon balm stains I love so much,
and also because I'd seen some hype about it in the blogging world.
I bought 'A Stiff Pink' and promptly swatched it when I got home:

As you can see, it's a bright, bubblegum pink.
Though it's not so bright to look like something a 15 year old would wear :)
I would pleasantly, pleasantly surprised with it!!

PROS
- bargain price, cheaper than Revlon's balm stains
- SUPER smooth & soft
- Lovely, pink color
- Easy to apply
- No bleeding or feathering

CONS
- Only comes in 6 shades, but I expect they'll make more as the product sells
- I didn't notice any "minty cooling" effect, if that's something you're looking for
- Not quite as long lasting as it claimed, but definitely still lasts a while

The Verdict
This product FAR outweighed any expectations I had. It went on so buttery smooth
and felt great on my lips, definitely conditioning them as it claimed.
Being that this baby is a great bargain price,
you definitely get a bang for your buck!
I'm super anxious to try the other shades, too.
RATING (OUT OF 10): 9

Starrily- 'The Magic of Frosty'

Okay, okay.
So i know this is technically a Christmas polish,
but being that so many places are getting snow today-
I figured it's still fitting...
you can still make snowmen, whether it's christmas or not :)

Anyway, here's 1 coat of 'The Magic of Frosty' over Zoya's 'Neely'.

'The Magic of Frosty' is a clear base filled with white & red microglitter,
small green, red, and blue hexes, medium white hexes, large red hexes,
and large white snowflakes.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Starrily
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Good, but you definitely have to dig for the bigger glitters.
Price: $8-$9 for a mini
Get This: no longer sold :/

What do you guys think of this fun winter top coat?
I love it :)

Zoya- 'Taylor'

I've got another lovely Zoya for you today.
I bought this once from their most recent promotion,
and I obviously HAD to buy it since it bears my name :)

Also, I've been on the hunt for good, neutral, wedding polishes
and this definitely looked promising online.

Here's 2 coats of 'Taylor'.

'Taylor' is a "light toffee creme". It is indeed very light,
but looked a bit different on my nails than I expected.
I still like it, though.

Not sure if it's quite THE wedding polish I was looking for, though,
so I'm still on the hunt!
