OH, HELLUR

Well, it's only taken me a year and a half-
but-
i'm back!
(kind of)

I'm finally at a point in my life where I have the time & energy to blog/create looks again.
As such, I'm attempting to get back in the (makeup) game, again.
We'll see how it goes...

I got the Alice in Wonderland 'Through the Looking Glass' UD palette several months ago,
as well as some new SYN Cosmetics pigments, and I've been wanting to create something with them.
As such, here's a simple but sparkly holiday look :)

I dub this "Mad Hatter Christmas" since I used several shadows from the
Alice in Wonderland 'Through the Looking Glass' palette :P
Any other pigment used in this look is from SYN Cosmetics!

What I Used:
brow bone- 'Royal Flush'*
crease- 'Gone Mad'*& 'Scene'
highlight- 'Salazen Grum'*& 'Spade'
inner corner- 'Hatter'*
lid- 'Moolah' & 'Zone'

My Little Pony makeup series- Pinkie Pie

Today's look in my My Little Pony series is based off of Pinkie Pie:

She's silly, energetic, and somewhat of a goofball :)

Here's the simple yet definitely 'pink' look I created based off of this character:

(in natural light)

(in indoor light)

I used:
UD's Primer Potion
UD's 'Freebird'- inner corners
SYN Cosmetics' 'Audacity'- lid
Sugarpill's 'Dollipop' & Sleek's 'Parma Violet'- crease
UD's 'Noise'- highlight

Cocktail Makeup Series- Kiwi Blueberry Mojito

It's that time again!
Now that the warmer weather/summer is basically upon us,
it's time for my annual Cocktail Makeup Series :)

Today's look is based off of this gem that I found on Pinterest:
Kiwi Blueberry Mojito

This bad boy looks DELISH.
(Find the full recipe here!)
These colors are two of my favorite to play with on my eyes,
so I was really excited to create a variation of this for my series.

Here's my look:

I used:
UD's Primer Potion
UD's 'Sabbath' & 'Heroine'- crease
Sugarpill's 'Afterparty' & Sleek's 'Bolt'- highlight
Sleek's 'Powi' & 'Cream Soda'- inner corners
Sleek's 'Pear Drop', 'Mint Cream', & 'Cricket'- lid/lower lash line
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

Game of Thrones makeup series- Dorne

Happy Sunday Funday!
I have another post in my GoT makeup series today.
If you've been watching the show lately,
you'll know that Dorne is becoming an increasingly prominent place,
with the Martells being from/ruling there, Oberyn, and the Sand Snakes.

Here are a few of the pictures I used of Dorne as inspiration:

And here's the soft/subtle look I created:

I used:
UD's Primer Potion
UD's 'Lucky', 'Reign', & 'Brokedown'- crease
SYN Cosmetics' 'Slim'- inner corners
SYN Cosmetics' 'Blaze' & 'Zone'- lids
SYN Cosmetics' 'Trace' & 'Greedy'- lower lash line
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

My Little Pony makeup series- Fluttershy

I've got another installment in my My Little Pony makeup series for you today
(see the first one here).
Today's look is based off of Fluttershy:

She represents the element of kindness,
so I wanted the look I created for her to not only use her colors,
but be soft and gentle as well.

Here's what I came up with!

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'El Dorado' & 'Midnight Cowboy'- inner half of lid
UD's 'Hot Pants'- outer part of lid
Sleek's 'Pout' & Sugarpill's 'Dollipop'- crease
SYN Cosmetics' 'Audacious'- highlight
Lime Crime's 'Circus Girl'- lower lash line
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

My Little Pony makeup series- *Twilight Sparkle*

So since my daughter is lately obsessed with My Little Pony,
I decided to do a makeup series based on the little ponies.
They're each packed with all kinds of bright and cheerful colors,
so it's a great excuse to get out my brighter colors and play with them :)

For today's post, I used Twilight Sparkle for my first look.

I decided to stick with various shades of purple
with some slight pink for the look.
I also, of course, had to have a bit of sparkle ;)

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'Bobby Dazzle'- inner corner highlight
UD's 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in 'Woodstock' & Sugarpill's 'Dollipop'- lower lash line
UD's Glide On Eye Pencil 'Ransom' & Sleek's 'Parma Violet'- crease
Sleek's 'Flump' & 'Sugarlite'- highlight
UD's 'Grifter' & Lime Crime's 'Pearl-ple'- lid
Sugarpill's 'Tako'- browbone
Victorian Disco's 'Stun Grenade'- silver glitter
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner
Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara

What do you guys think about my interpretation?
I had a lot of fun creating this crazy, bold, and sparkly look :)

* REVIEW * Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Pencil

Happy Monday!
I've been out of work for a whole week because of the ice/snow,
so it's hard to go back to work today.
Meh.

Anyway... on to today's post :)
I've never used concealer.
However,
I grabbed one from Ulta a couple days ago,
and I've been giving it the old college try.

The Product

I bought DEA (;p heh) as it goes best with my skin tone.

Some of it's Claims:
- dries matte
- long lasting
- easy to apply with "precise application" b/c it's a pencil
- covers blemishes and dark circles easily
- sharpens for long use

The Review
Okay so- as I'm getting a little older,
I've decided to try/start using a concealer.
I've never used one before,
but the bags/darkness under my eyes is more of a regular battle than it used to be.
Sigh.
SO,
since I've had tons of luck with UD's Naked foundation,
it only made sense to try their concealer, too.

Here's my face prior to any foundation or concealer:
:D

The flash helps a little,
but I've got some baggage going on under my eyes...
not to mention some blemishes (thanks facial tanner)
and redness going on.

So, after applying my Naked foundation,
I applied the concealer under my eyes.
I used to suggested triangle method,
so as not to look like a raccoon :)
Heres the before & after for each eye:

PROS:
- easy to apply
- I love that it dries matte, just like my foundation
- Blends easily (I used a sponge)
- Comes in 8 different shades to choose from
- easily brightens up dark circles/blemishes

CONS:
- a little pricey at $20
- must buy UD's Grindhouse pencil sharpener (another $10)
in order to sharpen this concealer

Verdict
It's true that I don't have a whole lot to compare this concealer to
since I've not really tried any others yet.
(though I plan to!)
That being said, I did use UD's claims as my basis for comparison and judgment.
You can easily tell in the pictures the noticeable difference between
my eyes before the concealer and after.
I definitely feel like I look more awake/younger,
(can't believe i'm saying that... i'm only 25 after all! humph)
and it also easily covered any blemishes.
I do like how it dries matte and was uber easy to apply, too.
I know UD makes a liquid concealer for $8 more than this pencil,
but I have a feeling it would be a bit harder to apply.
The only thing that really kind of bugs me is that
I now have to buy the $10 pencil sharpener in order to use it :/

All in all, very pleased. Well worth the $20.
RATING (OUT OF 10): 9

Frigid February

So, in honor of us here in TN having record breaking sub-zero temperatures tonight,
I have a frosty, frigid look :)

I decided to do a darker color on my inner corners
rather than on the outer side, like usual.
I like how it turned out :)
I wish you could see the glitter and sparkle from a couple of the pigments I used more,
but I'm overall pleased! :)

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'Truth'- brow bone
Sugarpill's 'Afterparty' & SYN Cosmetics' 'Famous'- crease
SYN Cosmetics' 'Dap'- highlight
UD's 'Heroine' & SYN Cosmetics' 'Delusion'- inner corners
UD's 'Kiddie Pool'- lid
Younique 3D lash mascara- lashes
