OH, HELLUR

Well, it's only taken me a year and a half-
but-
i'm back!
(kind of)

I'm finally at a point in my life where I have the time & energy to blog/create looks again.
As such, I'm attempting to get back in the (makeup) game, again.
We'll see how it goes...

I got the Alice in Wonderland 'Through the Looking Glass' UD palette several months ago,
as well as some new SYN Cosmetics pigments, and I've been wanting to create something with them.
As such, here's a simple but sparkly holiday look :)

I dub this "Mad Hatter Christmas" since I used several shadows from the
Alice in Wonderland 'Through the Looking Glass' palette :P
Any other pigment used in this look is from SYN Cosmetics!

What I Used:
brow bone- 'Royal Flush'*
crease- 'Gone Mad'*& 'Scene'
highlight- 'Salazen Grum'*& 'Spade'
inner corner- 'Hatter'*
lid- 'Moolah' & 'Zone'

(*= shadow from palette)

Candy Cane Christmas Craziness

Who loves alliteration??
I know I do.
Always makes a good, cheesy title :)

Anyway, I know Christmas is basically almost over,
but I wanted to do a couple last minute posts that I didn't get a chance to do before today
(this being one of them).
I saw this crazy-fun look on Pinterest and decided to recreate it the best I could,
so it's by no means my own idea!

Okay, my eyebrows are horrid- I know this.
Not only do they need to be shaped,
but I struggled like mad filling this in correctly.
BUT HEY- this was all just fun and games anyway :)

I used:
UD's 'Downfall' & 'Undone'- crease
Sugarpill's 'Love+' & 'Tako'- upper lash line/eyeliner
'Love+'- eyebrows

This is obviously crazy and just for fun- not something I would wear out or take seriously
But, I like to do those kinds of looks every now and then :P

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Christmas Classics series- 'Peppermint Kisses'

I've got another post in my yearly Christmas Classics series today.
This is another one is from the previously known Lush Lacquer (now Polish Me Silly)
from about 2 or 3 years ago :)

'Peppermint Kisses' is a white base with red, pink, white, and green hex & square glitter.
It's a little thin, so at least a few coats are required to reach opacity.
This IS a polish that you have to dig into to get some of the glitters,
but it's nothing too time consuming.

I wish they still sold this;
it's a great one!

Candy Lacquer's 'Santa's Sweet Shoppe'

Happy two days 'til Christmas!
Now that winter break has started,
I have a plethora of Christmas posts to catch up on.
So... expect a ton of them in the next few days.

For today,
here's 'Santa's Sweet Shop' by Candy Lacquer over OPI's 'Pink Friday'.

'Santa's Sweet Shop' is clear top coat with almost every kind and color of glitter.
Most prominent are pinks, reds, oranges, and some neon colors.
It definitely looks like to me what Santa's real candy shop would look like
:)

Naughty Snowballs

Goooooood morning!
I have a quick but bright post today.
I recently picked up this new, sparkly baby from L'Oreal:

This is 'Snowball', and it's obviously packed with chunky, holo glitter.
I decided to feature this over an Essie Christmas polish from last year, 'Berry Naughty'...
and here's the result!

(apologizing now for the horrible state of my nails. sad)

It's nothing fancy, but the holo sure is delicious.
It's festive and easy :)
After losing one of my favorite chunky holos (CG's 'Techno'),
this should be a good replacement.
Have a happy Friday!

:)

Christmas Classics series- 'Frosty'

Happy Monday!
This is my last full week of work before Christmas,
and I'm ready to power through it ;P

I have another Christmas classic for you today,
and it IS a classic- one of the oldest Christmas polishes I have!
Here's 'Frosty' from the (what used to be called) Lush Lacquer,
but now Polish Me Silly.

This is 2 coats :)

This lovely, white based polish with all kinds of green and red glitter has held up beautifully over the years :) It's not gloomy or thick,
and still goes on pretty well.
Too coats is really I needed to reach opacity.
Though they don't sell this anymore,
(boo)- it will always be one of my favorites! :)

Super Simple Christmas v.2

Happy Monday!
-__-
ugh.

BUT, I can help you start off this Monday right with today's new look :)
Last year, I created a simple Christmas look.
I decided to create a similar but different spin on it for this year.

A lot of the looks I post take either a lot of time, experience/knowledge,
and products to create.
Not everyone has all or some of those things,
SO- I wanted to create a look that anyone could create, it takes about 5 minutes,
and you could use any products to do it :)

Here's this year's super simple Christmas look:

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'Downfall' & 'Undone'- crease
UD's 'Vanilla'- inner corner
SYN Cosmetics' 'Moolah' & 'Greedy' and UD's 'Dragon'- lower lash line
L'Oreal Butterfly Intenza mascara

I like the matte on the lid and the party-like shimmer on the bottom ;P
It's easy and fairly tame,
but still has that holiday spirit!

What do you think?
Would you wear this?

Candy Lacquer 'Candy Cane Fiesta'

I posted the other day about my new christmas polishes from Candy Lacquer.
Here's the first of the two of them,
'Candy Cane Fiesta'!

*pictured here over 2 coats China Glaze's 'Merry Berry'*

This polish is adorable and packed with almost every kind of glitter there is.
Hexes (of all sizes and colors), circles, squares, rectangles, snowflakes, hearts, flowers... and yes, candy canes!

I almost wish this polish had a different name, even though it's cute.
Because of the name, I was expecting to find several little candy cane glitters.
Instead, I seriously found, maybe, 3.
I ended up having to go back to the little baggie of extra glitter that came with this polish to find a candy cane.
I'll add the bag to the bottle and have plenty for next time, though!

This polish had a great consistency and went on as a beautiful top coat over this CG.
Definitely one of my new, favorite Christmas manis!
:)

What do you guys think?

Christmas Classics- OPI's 'Lost on Lombard'

For the past couple years,
I've been doing a 'Christmas Classics' series of old(er) nail polishes that are either Christmas-themed or strike me as good Christmas polishes.
Today's post is the latter.
I've posted this polish before,
but it's lovely for the holidays
(especially as a base for stamping)
and I decided to post it again!
I'm sure it could be found pretty cheap nowadays,
as it's about a year or so old.

Here's 2 coats of OPI's 'Lost on Lombard':

'Lost on Lombard' is a holly-red creme.
It goes on like a dream and it perfect for Christmas.
I'ved used it under stamping quite a bit in the past,
but it's adorable on it's own, as well :)

Starrily- 'The Magic of Frosty'

Okay, okay.
So i know this is technically a Christmas polish,
but being that so many places are getting snow today-
I figured it's still fitting...
you can still make snowmen, whether it's christmas or not :)

Anyway, here's 1 coat of 'The Magic of Frosty' over Zoya's 'Neely'.

'The Magic of Frosty' is a clear base filled with white & red microglitter,
small green, red, and blue hexes, medium white hexes, large red hexes,
and large white snowflakes.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Starrily
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Good, but you definitely have to dig for the bigger glitters.
Price: $8-$9 for a mini
Get This: no longer sold :/

What do you guys think of this fun winter top coat?
I love it :)

PCC- 'Silent Night' & 'Holly Jolly'

Alright,
i've got to double up on posts/polishes here because
I have too much to post before Christmas day haha.
Today, both are from Pop Culture Cosmetics!

First up, 'Silent Night' over Sinful Colors' 'Rain Storm'.

'Silent Night' is a dark blue crelly with all white/holo glitter: micro, medium squares and hexes, large circles, several large half moons, and large snowflakes & stars.
LOVE this polish!
The glitter types really make it, in my opinion.
I love it over 'Rain Storm', too.
(You gotta dig for the stars and snowflakes, though)

Next up, 3 coats of 'Holly  Jolly'-

'Holly Jolly' is a mint-green base filled with green & red glitter.
This reminds me faintly of Lush Lacquer's (currently Polish Me Silly)
'Frosty', but with a green base.
Either way, it's a cute Christmas polish!
One note, though, it does get a little gloopy after a few uses.

Christmas Makeup Look

I've been itching to do some more Christmas looks.
I found one on Pinterest from Naturally Erratic that I really liked,
and I've recreated it here :)

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'Libertine' and Sleek's 'Dragon Fly' & 'Cricket'- crease
UD's 'Damaged' &'Libertine'- lid
Lime Crime's 'Seahorse Discourse'- highlight
UD's 'Black Dog' & Sugarpill's 'Love+'- lower lash line
'Tako'- inner corners & browbone
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner
L'Oreal Butterfly mascara

What do you all think about this look?
I really loved how Naturally Erratic did it.
I like the smokeyness of it best, I think.

Christmas Classics- 'Winter Holly '

I've got another 'Christmas classic' for you today,
again from China Glaze's holiday collection last year.

Here's 3 coats of 'Winter Holly'!

'Winter Holly' is a green holo microglitter, similar to 'Glistening Snow'
but just a different color :)

This polish sparkles like crazy in the sunlight thanks to the holo
and 2 coats of SV.
Definitely a good one for the holidays!

12/20/13

PCC- 'Sleigh Bells'

I've got another uber cute & unique Christmas top coat for you today
from, guess who!, Pop Culture Cosmetics :)

Here's 'Sleigh Bells' over 2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'In the Mist'.

'Sleigh Bells' is a clear base with tons of fun glitter: sparse green & red micro glitter,
medium red, green, and silver holo circles, small white circle glitter, large red, green, and
silver holo circle glitter, large white snowflakes, AND large green, red, and silver holo bells!
Hence the name ;P

SO. CUTE.
I love that this polish has glitter i've never seen in a polish before.
The addition of the snowflakes is super cute, too.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Good, but you definitely have to dig for the bigger glitters.
Price: $4 for a mini

I think this polish is so freaking precious
and plan on wearing it again immediately!
What do you all think?

Christmas Classics- 'Glistening Snow'

Today I have a polish from CG from their holiday collection last year.
This is 3 amazing coats of 'Glistening Snow'.

'Glistening Snow' is made up of silver holo micro glitter.
After a top coat, it's positively dazzling!
If only my camera could completely capture what the sun does.

Anyway, this bad boy is awesome.
What do you think?

Super simple Christmas look :)

So I decided to create a Christmas/festive look today
for those of you who may not feel comfortable blending
and applying all the shadow I normally do,
OR
for those of you who just don't have the time
or who don't want to :)

This is a natural yet bold look at the same time.

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'Dope'- lid
UD's 'Rewind'- crease
Sugarpill's 'Love+' & BFTE's 'Addicted'- lower lash line
L'Oreal Butterfly mascara

What do you guys think about this simple but bold look?
Too much red?
Looks weird on the lower lash line or no?
Let me know!
