So I first saw this tag from Nancy over at The Dark Side of Beauty,
and thought it was pretty cool.
I love sharing and talking about music,
so I figured I would do this :)




What's your favorite type of music?

I like everything, from classical, rock, metal, electronic, indie, alternative, hip hop... BUT, i'm most into electronic/dubstep right now :)

( and the REAL stuff, not Skrillex)

What's your least favorite type of music?

I would have to say rap. I know some of them are legit talented and what not,

but for the most part, I Don't have a lot of use for it.

What's the best gig you've been to?

Hmmm that's a tough one. I've been to a TON of shows & it's hard to choose... but if I had to pick, I would say Bassnectar several years ago before he went mainstream, Moon Taxi for NYE last year, and Glitch Mob a few years ago.

What albums are you listening to at the moment?

'Blow the Roof' by Flux Pavilion, & PantyRaid's new stuff. SO SICK.

What's your favorite bands/artists & other favorite albums?
My favorite artist of ALL TIME is Imogen Heap, & a very close second is Trifonic. Some other artists I like are Miles Davis, Kate Havnevik, Pretty Lights, Incubus, Evanescence, The Glitch Mob, Michael Buble, and Nit Grit. I've also really been into Blackmill lately.

'25 Random Things About Me' & 'Questions' tag

Hey everyone!

I figured I'd post 2 tags from Natasha over at Project Pan that she tagged me in.

I haven't done any of these in a long while,

but I think they're fun to read & learn more about the people behind the blogs :)

The first one is 25 Random Facts about me!

1. Despite beauty & nails, I don't like many other "girly" things, such as Coach bags & almost all jewelry :x

2. Though I've quit drinking it now (except for like once a month), i LOVE me some sweet tea.

3. I have my name tattooed in Cherokee (my heritage) on the back of my neck.

4. I have a 16 month old baby girl who is the absolute joy of my life.

5. I'm in my last semester of classes in college, (prior to student teaching).

6. My major is special education.

7. I have an inconvenient growing addiction to pizza.

8. I love mild, cloudy, and breezy days.

9. I get motion sick pretty easy. It's pathetic.

10. I hate corndogs & stuffing.

11. My favorite color is red.

12. I'm fascinated with psychology, particularly abnormal psych, & almost majored in that instead.

13. I want a kitten so bad I can hardly stand it,

but my boyfriend (whom I live with) is allergic to them ://

14. My feet are almost always cold, no matter how thick my socks or how warm my boots are,

thanks to my hypothyroidism.

15. Eye exams have shown that I will most likely have Glaucoma in the future. Yay.

Can you tell my body totally sucks? :P

16. Did I mention that I'm almost legally blind? My contact prescription is a ridiculously high number. My eyes are such wimps.

17. I've been all over Greece & can't wait to go back.

18. I HAVE to sleep with a fan blowing on my face, even in winter.

19. I love me some Riesling :)

20. I played the violin for years & am hoping to pick it back up soon.

21. I love LOTR.

22. Some of my favorite shows currently are Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Dexter, Project Runway, & Top Chef.

23. I have almost always had long hair all my life.

24. One of my favorite things to do is go to shows with friends,
particularly electronic/dubstep/jamband shows :)

25. I am 5'2".

1. What was your dream job as a child?

Believe it or not, a neurosurgeon. At least it was in the 4th & 5th grade.

2. What is your dream job now?

To be a happily successful teacher! 

3. What is your current job?

I currently don't have a job, other than going to school full time & watching my 16 month old daughter full time :) Which is a job unto itself

4. How often do you paint your nails?

Every day or every other day, usually.

5. What is something you want to try harder at this year?

Working out. EVERY year I talk about how I want to try to do it, and I may even have a little motivation at first, but it never lasts. This year I want to stick with it long enough to see some results!

6. What is your favorite way to spend your day off?

My favorite way to spend a day off is either spending time with my little family outside,

or lounging inside watching football or hockey for a lazy day.

7. What country do you currently live in?

The US of A :D

8. What is your background/heritage?

My heritage is Cherokee Indian.

9. What is your proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is my daughter :) Next up will be graduating college.

10. Have you ever broken a bone? If so, which?

I've broken the bigger of the two bones in the bottom part of my leg. Sorry, anatomy isn't my strong suit. All I know is that I had a cast from my toes to my hip for like 6 months and it sucked.

11. Do you prefer sweet or salty snacks?

7 Deadly Sins Tag

Hey everyone!

My only Friday class got cancelled today so i'm a happy camper.

I haven't felt much like blogging or doing any looks lately for some reason,

but I did decide to go ahead and do this fun little tag i've seen going around.

I feel like a lot of these are actually interchangeable because of the way whoever created this defined them... but whatever :P

I won't tag anyone specific in this,

Here we go:

1) GREEDY

Which polish is the cheapest from your stash?

Pretty sure that all the PureIce polishes I own were like $1 :)

They're pretty good, considering, too!

2) WRATH

What polish do you have a love/hate relationship with?

I have a love/hate relationship with 'Too Schmexxxy' from DarlingDivaPolish & 'Be Brave ' from ORLY, because- though both look AWESOME in the bottle- I HATED how they looked on my nails. The first was way too clumpy, while the ORLY looked like pubes :/

3. GLUTTONY

What polish have you desired ever since you saw it?

One of the first nail websites I ever perused was Llarowe, which of course has tons of amazing holos. I was immediately drawn to this baby from Glitter Gal!

I was initially DYING to get 'Connect the Dots' from Lynnderella, but it soon became clear that it was nearly impossible to score any of her polishes. SO, I began looking for an alternative. I feel like there are tons of black & white glitter topcoats out there, but 'Salt n Peppa' from Lush Lacquer adds more of a twist with tiny holographic micro glitter mixed in. I LOVE IT.

The very first brand of nail polish I was ever interested in (aside from the basics like CG, OPI, etc) was HITS No. Olimpo collection. This is Hermes, and it's uh-mazing.

4) SLOTH

What polish do you hate wearing because of the hassle to apply or remove it?

Though I love how both OPI's 'How's It Snowin?' & CG's 'I'm Not Lion' look- they are a PAIN to get off- even with the foil method. But that's the price you pay with glitters!

5) PRIDE

Which polish are you most proud to own?

'Across the Universe'- my only DL polish! They're so amazing but just so pricey, so the one I have, I cherish!

'The Walking Dead' is not only one of my favorite shows, but also an amazing polish from one of my all time favorite indie makers, All That Glitters. Proud to own it!

'Black Knight' is one of 3 BL polishes that I currently own,

and look how yummy it is! Proud momma :)

6)LUST

Which polish makes your nails look sexy?

Obviously, I'm a fan of red. I think if any nail color were to make my nails look sexy- it would be red. Seen above are BL's 'Knees Up', OPI's 'It's Always Oktoberfest', & Zoya's 'Kimmy'! :)

7) ENVY

What polish is your biggest lemming? You envy those who have it.

Is it cheating to saw I envy ALL the polishes from their Ornate collection...? :x

Woo! Though I won't be showing my ta-tas to get any beads today, 
I still think it's a fun 'holiday'.
I did a lovely little checkerboard mani today with the appropriate mardi gras colors,
& OF COURSE I just didn't allow it to dry in time, my daughter got fussy... and well, you can figure out the rest.
 Basically they looked like a smudged mess after I'd spent a couple hours (on and off) on them. humph >.<
So although I don't have a picture of the mani, 
I at least have a pic of the polishes I used:

Kleancolor's Metallic 'Jungle', 'Yellow', & 'Purple'.
They don't have names because they're mini's and are part of the Techno set, which I swatched way back in the beginner days of my blog.
Basically, they're some of my favorite metallics ever. The whole set is SO RICH and luxe, it's ridiculous.


** note: a few of these polishes DO stain quite badly :/

I actually got this awhile ago when I first started my blog, but I only had like 15 polishes then, so I figured it would be appropriate to do it again :p

1. How many nail polishes do you have? 

77 !

2. What is your favorite brand of nail polish? 

Though i'm still a noob & there are tons of brands I haven't tried yet, I've had to say China Glaze, for now.

3. Do you like crackle polish or do you hate it?

I've never used it before, and what I've seen others do still has me on the fence about it.

4. What was your first nail polish brand? 

I think Bons Bons :p

5. If you are going to have a nail polish line, what are you going to name it? 

ummmm wow, thats a tough one. perhaps 'Tots'?

6. What nail polish colors do not compliment you? 

I really don't think yellow-y golds do. They make y nails look stale :/

7. What nail polish colors do compliment you?

I feel like pink, orange, silver, and tan-gold look nice.

8. Name two of your best nail art friends.

My mom got me two normal size OPI's for christmas that I've been wanting forever.. but that's about it, haha. I've bought all the other stuff on my own.

What a night. I thought for sure I was going to have to pull an all-nighter, but alas- I finished early :)

11 Things About Moi:

1. I am as blind as a bat (even though they're actually not blind... but you know what I mean). But yeah. My prescription is like -7 something and that's close to legitimately blind so. yeah... sucks.

2. I had a benign tumor in my right leg when I was 12.

3. I want a kitten, and I shall name him Optimus Prime.

4. I'm a 1/4 Cherokee, and have my name tattooed in Cherokee on the back of my neck.

5. I LOVE Rollercoaster Tycoon :x

6. I refuse to jump on the designer purse bandwagon.

7. I freaking hate to eat Stuffing.

8. And corndogs.

9. I play with my hair constantly. It's probably really annoying.

Well I'm still a bit of n00b when it comes to polish, but I think i'd have to say China Glaze.

4. How did you come up with the name for your blog?

Well, I knew  wanted to talk about all beauty, but I also knew that I was new to the whole blogging world & not half a serious or talented as some of the others... so I figured 'Simply Beauty' pretty much conveyed that.

5. What are your top 3 favorite nail polish colors?

Silver, pink, and gold :)

6. What is your favorite food that you can eat everyday?

CHOCOLATE. if that counts as a food... if not, any kind of fruit will do.

7. What is your favorite Disney movie?

Hmm... I remember really like the Little Mermaid, when I was little

8. If you were stuck on a deserted island what 3 things would you need besides necessities like food & water?

A phone, tampons (you never know), and toilet paper :p

print. Who even remember all the cursive letters? I don't. I write like i'm 4 years old when I try cursive, anyway.

Oh lord. I don't really know any cartoons because my daughter isn't at that stage yet, and its been forever since I've watched them. Perhaps 'Dexter's Laboratory' :)
