Christmas Classics series- 'Peppermint Kisses'

I've got another post in my yearly Christmas Classics series today.
This is another one is from the previously known Lush Lacquer (now Polish Me Silly)
from about 2 or 3 years ago :)

'Peppermint Kisses' is a white base with red, pink, white, and green hex & square glitter.
It's a little thin, so at least a few coats are required to reach opacity.
This IS a polish that you have to dig into to get some of the glitters,
but it's nothing too time consuming.

I wish they still sold this;
it's a great one!

Christmas Classics series- 'Frosty'

Happy Monday!
This is my last full week of work before Christmas,
and I'm ready to power through it ;P

I have another Christmas classic for you today,
and it IS a classic- one of the oldest Christmas polishes I have!
Here's 'Frosty' from the (what used to be called) Lush Lacquer,
but now Polish Me Silly.

This is 2 coats :)

This lovely, white based polish with all kinds of green and red glitter has held up beautifully over the years :) It's not gloomy or thick,
and still goes on pretty well.
Too coats is really I needed to reach opacity.
Though they don't sell this anymore,
(boo)- it will always be one of my favorites! :)

Christmas Classic series- 'Frosty'

Whew!
Sorry it has been over a week since I blogged.
I had finals and final projects all due last week.
(Did I mention I wrote close to 50 pages? :pulls hair out:)

Anyway,
the constantly rainy/cloudy weather hasn't aided me in doing any nail looks
since I use natural light for all those.
So, good times.

Before I begin all my new posts,
(and I have TONS of them!!)
I wanted to post one of my favorite throwback Christmas polishes...
Here's 2 coats of (what used to be) Lush Lacquer's 'Frosty'!

'Frosty' really encapsulates all that I love about this indie maker.
It's original, fun, formula is great, good quality, and it applies really well.
What do you guys think about this polish?

A Classic or no?

Hey guys :)
I have my fourth & last Lush Lacquer mini from a set of neons I bought a couple months ago.
I've saved this one for longer into summer time.
Here's 2 coats of 'Tropical Kisses' over 2 coats of Essie's 'The More the Merrier'!

'Tropical Kisses' is a clear base with neon green microglitter, and medium yellow-gold, orange, red, and pink hex glitter.
This bad boy went on BEAUTIFULLY. I really love it over 'The More the Merrier' :)

Lush Lacquer- 'Hello Sunshine'

blehhhhh so let me first apologize at the atrocity that are my nails right now.
Moving and stress have not been kind to them,
and they are nubs again :(
I don't really want to do any nail posts for a bit until they grow back,
but I had to go ahead and post this pretty baby.

It was such a sunny day outside today that I knew it was time for
'Hello Sunshine' from Lush Lacquer!
Here is 3 coats.

'Hello Sunshine' is a milky white base filled with pink, coral, and orange medium hex glitters, large squares, and bar glitter. I LOVE IT. It's very summery and fun,
and the color combo definitely reminds of the beach or being poolside, for some reason :)

Lush Lacquer- 'Clowning Around'

I have an extremely fun polish (or topcoat, rather)
for today.
As i've said before, Lush Lacquer has some amazing neon glitter polishes
that are great for summer.
Here's my latest babeh from them-
2 coats of 'Clowning Around' over 2 coat of Essie's 'Yogaga'.

'Clowning Around' is a clear base that's packed with neon pink micro glitter, & various sizes of neon blue, yellow, orange, green, purple, & pink hex glitter.
This is without a doubt, one of my favorite new polishes.
I love the bright colors, and the fact that it can be worn over a ton of colors :)

MM MM.
Today's polish is freaking uh-mazing.
Since summer and neons go hand-in-hand,
I was stoked when I saw Lush Lacquer's newest polishes that are PACKED with all kind of neon glitter.

Here's 2 coats of 'Neon Lights' over 1 coat of CG's 'White on White'!

'Neon Lights' is a milky white base filled with neon orange, yellow, green, and pink differently sized matte hex glitters. ITS PERFECT. I can' even describe how in love with it I am!

Lush Lacquer- 'Gumballs'

Hey!
Super quickly,
Here's 3 coats of Lush Lacquer's 'Gumballs'!

'Gumballs' is a milky, peach-colored base with matte neon pink, neon yellow, green, blue, and purple hexagonal  differently sized glitters throughout.
I used it on it's own because it's pretty easy to reach opacity.
What do you think of LL's new look? Also, in case you haven't noticed, LL has some awesome new glitters out for summer! :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Lush Lacquer
Type: Glitter
Formula: Pretty good, slightly more gloopy than I would have liked
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good!
Price:  $9

What do you guys think of this polish?
I like that it's unlike any other polish I have right now,
especially with the peach base.
The neon glitters are also more subtle than typical neons,
so I feel they give the look a more Spring than Summer look to it,
and I like that.

Frosty!

Happy Saturday!
3 more days until Christmas :e
I have yet another lovely holiday polish from Lush Lacquer today.

Here's 3 coats of 'Frosty'.

'Frosty' is a milky white base with various sizes of red and green glitter. It was easily opaque in 3 coats. This is based off of my favorite polish of Lush Lacquer's- 'Birthday Cake', so I knew I'd love this baby! It was super easy to build opacity. I was afraid the polish would be gloopy with all that glitter, but it was perfect!

POLISH INFORMATIONBrand: Lush Lacquer
Type: Custom-Blended glitter
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 2 (first coat); opaque in 3 coats
Price: $8.75

Tree-Mendous Nails

Hellooooo.
It's a wet & rainy day here today :/
But at least it feels a little colder and more like Christmas time.

Speaking of Christmas,
let's get on to another indie from Lush Lacquer's holiday collection!
This little number was one of the many polishes given to me from my bestie over at GaGa for Nails :)

Here's 2 coats of Lush Lacquer's 'Tree-Mendous' over China Glaze's 'In the Limelight'.

'Tree-Mendous' is a clear base with "holographic" green micro glitter, then medium sized red, yellow, blue, green, pink, orange, and white hexagonal glitter dotted throughout. To top it off, the polish has some gold stars mixed in, as well. Obviously, they're meant to represent ornaments and the star on top of the tree.

On their site, they suggested using 'Tree-Mendous' over a lime green polish, so I quickly hunted down CG's 'In the Limelight' and used it as a base. I wish I had used 2 coats of it instead of 1, though. Regarding 'Tree-Mendous', I feel like coverage would have been better with 3 coats rather than 2, but I still like how it turned out.

'Tree-Mendous's formula was great. Getting the gold stars out proved to be a little tricky,
but the makers address this issue on their site. After much shaking and a little probing with a tooth pick, I easily got some. After applying 1 coat of SV, everything dried flat and smooth :)

I like this polish. It's different than many i've seen on Etsy, particularly other Christmas polishes. I wish the stars were a little easier to obtain, but that issue is often to be expected & is no biggie. Overeall, super glad I was gifted this little baby! You can buy a full size of it here on their Etsy site for $8.75. You can also find Lush Lacquer on Llarowe, but it's usually more expensive.

What do you guys think?
Do any of you have this?

Peppermint Kisses

Hey guys.
I have an exciting post for you today!
I ordered a couple polishes from Lush Lacquer's holiday collection awhile ago,
and they finally came in!

Here's the first one, 'Peppermint Kisses'.

A rare pic of my right hand!

'Peppermint Kisses' is a milky white base with various sizes of pink, red, white, and green hexagonal matte glitter. It's easily opaque in two coats. Though I'm sure it would look great over something else, I used this polish by itself to really highlight everything it has to offer. Here I used 3 coats.

Formula was pretty great. A liiiiilte on the thick side, but certainly workable. I actually think I painted the layers on a little too thick for the consistency of this polish, but I like it anyway. On longer nails that aren't short and stubby like mine- this polish will look GORGEOUS. It's a fun and festive polish :)

I purchased it here on their Etsy site for $9. You can also buy it off Llawrowe, but it's $11 :/
Shipping was much slower than usual, but it IS the holidays and totally understandable. They were very nice and apologized for any delay :)

Do any of the rest of you have this?
What's your favorite Lush Lacquer polish?
Thanks for reading!

7 Deadly Sins Tag

Hey everyone!
My only Friday class got cancelled today so i'm a happy camper.
I haven't felt much like blogging or doing any looks lately for some reason,
but I did decide to go ahead and do this fun little tag i've seen going around.
I feel like a lot of these are actually interchangeable because of the way whoever created this defined them... but whatever :P

I won't tag anyone specific in this,
but if you decide to do it,
leave me a link so I can go look!
:)
Here we go:

1) GREEDY
Which polish is the cheapest from your stash?
Pretty sure that all the PureIce polishes I own were like $1 :)
They're pretty good, considering, too!

2) WRATH
What polish do you have a love/hate relationship with?
I have a love/hate relationship with 'Too Schmexxxy' from DarlingDivaPolish & 'Be Brave ' from ORLY, because- though both look AWESOME in the bottle- I HATED how they looked on my nails. The first was way too clumpy, while the ORLY looked like pubes :/

3. GLUTTONY
What polish have you desired ever since you saw it?
One of the first nail websites I ever perused was Llarowe, which of course has tons of amazing holos. I was immediately drawn to this baby from Glitter Gal!

I was initially DYING to get 'Connect the Dots' from Lynnderella, but it soon became clear that it was nearly impossible to score any of her polishes. SO, I began looking for an alternative. I feel like there are tons of black & white glitter topcoats out there, but 'Salt n Peppa' from Lush Lacquer adds more of a twist with tiny holographic micro glitter mixed in. I LOVE IT.

The very first brand of nail polish I was ever interested in (aside from the basics like CG, OPI, etc) was HITS No. Olimpo collection. This is Hermes, and it's uh-mazing.

4) SLOTH
What polish do you hate wearing because of the hassle to apply or remove it?
Though I love how both OPI's 'How's It Snowin?' & CG's 'I'm Not Lion' look- they are a PAIN to get off- even with the foil method. But that's the price you pay with glitters!

5) PRIDE
Which polish are you most proud to own?
'Across the Universe'- my only DL polish! They're so amazing but just so pricey, so the one I have, I cherish!

'The Walking Dead' is not only one of my favorite shows, but also an amazing polish from one of my all time favorite indie makers, All That Glitters. Proud to own it!

'Black Knight' is one of 3 BL polishes that I currently own,
and look how yummy it is! Proud momma :)

6)LUST
Which polish makes your nails look sexy?
Obviously, I'm a fan of red. I think if any nail color were to make my nails look sexy- it would be red. Seen above are BL's 'Knees Up', OPI's 'It's Always Oktoberfest', & Zoya's 'Kimmy'! :)

7) ENVY
What polish is your biggest lemming? You envy those who have it.
Is it cheating to saw I envy ALL the polishes from their Ornate collection...? :x

Peek A Boo!

Hellooooooo.
Making this post short because i'm exhausted.
Worked until 1:30 am last night & had an 8 am class this morning :/
Vomit.

Anyway,
here's yet another one of the indie Halloween polishes I bought recently.
This one is from Lush Lacquer; 2 coats of 'Peek a Boo'.

'Peek-a-Boo' is a milky white base with purple, orange, and black large & medium hexagonal matte glitters (what a mouthful!) and micro bar glitters. It's meant to be worn alone, and worked perfectly so with two coats. I have one other milky based Lush Lacquer polish (seen here), and it was much better than this one. The glitters just didn't stand out as well in this one as they look like they would in the bottle. I didnt have this problem with the other polish from them, so i don't know what it is... Anyway, I still liked this polish. It just wasn't QUITE as awesome as I was expecting- but still great.

It's part of their brand new Halloween 2012 collection.

You can get 'Peek a Boo' here on her Etsy site,
along with tons of other polishes. All the others i've tried from them have been totally worth the $8.75 price tag. Shipping can take awhile, but its because they're constantly slammed with orders, so it's no biggie.

'Birthday Cake' for my birthday!

Hey everyone!
Today is my birthday & i'm 23! ...
meh, birthdays are so anticlimatic nowadays, haha.
BUT, i did use my birthday as an excuse to purchase a certain indie polish ...

I give you, 'Birthday Cake' from Lush Lacquer!

'Birthday Cake' is a milky white base with loads of confetti glitter in every color of the rainbow. It also has multicolored bar glitter (sparingly), along with some silver holographic glitter.

Here I've used 2 coats.
THIS. POLISH. IS. AWESOME.
For those of you who haven't tried any of Lush Lacquer's polishes- DO IT. They're such fantastic quality, especially for indies where many can be spotty.

The formula for this polish is fantastic- not too gloopy and not too runny. The bar glitter is sparse so it doesn't look like pubes, like much bar glitter is wont to do ;p
I love how this totally looks like confetti cake batter! I've had my eye on this polish for monthsssssss & I finally had an excuse :)

This dried a tiny bit gritty, but nothing a coat of SV couldn't fix!
I got this for $8.75 on Lush Lacquer's Etsy site. It's a little pricey, i know, but totally worth it. Unique and great quality. I've swatched two other Lush Lacquer polishes here and here if you want to check it out!

What's your favorite Lush Lacquer polish?!
Let me know! :D
