Easter polishes!

HAPPY EASTER!
Today is the day the Lord has made :)
I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Praise God for such a wonderful day today.
Also, I have some exciting and adorable Easter polishes for you!
Both from Pop Culture Cosmetics!

This is 'Bunny Trail' over Essie's 'To bUy or Not to Buy'

Secondly, 'Easter Dress' over Sinful Colors' !

4/18/14

Pop Culture Cosmetics- 'Happy Daisy'

My second PCC polish is this happy, festive top coat.
Here's 2 coats of 'Happy Daisy' over
2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'Unicorn'.

'Happy Daisy' is a clear top coat filled with all sizes of yellow
and white hexes. There are a couple white daisy glitters in there,
but their super hard to get to, even with a toothpick :/

Despite that, this is such a happy, lighthearted mani that I don't even care
if the daisies come out or not-
the combo is still adorable!

What do you think?

PCC- 'Silent Night' & 'Holly Jolly'

Alright,
i've got to double up on posts/polishes here because
I have too much to post before Christmas day haha.
Today, both are from Pop Culture Cosmetics!

First up, 'Silent Night' over Sinful Colors' 'Rain Storm'.

'Silent Night' is a dark blue crelly with all white/holo glitter: micro, medium squares and hexes, large circles, several large half moons, and large snowflakes & stars.
LOVE this polish!
The glitter types really make it, in my opinion.
I love it over 'Rain Storm', too.
(You gotta dig for the stars and snowflakes, though)

Next up, 3 coats of 'Holly  Jolly'-

'Holly Jolly' is a mint-green base filled with green & red glitter.
This reminds me faintly of Lush Lacquer's (currently Polish Me Silly)
'Frosty', but with a green base.
Either way, it's a cute Christmas polish!
One note, though, it does get a little gloopy after a few uses.

12/20/13

PCC- 'Sleigh Bells'

I've got another uber cute & unique Christmas top coat for you today
from, guess who!, Pop Culture Cosmetics :)

Here's 'Sleigh Bells' over 2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'In the Mist'.

'Sleigh Bells' is a clear base with tons of fun glitter: sparse green & red micro glitter,
medium red, green, and silver holo circles, small white circle glitter, large red, green, and
silver holo circle glitter, large white snowflakes, AND large green, red, and silver holo bells!
Hence the name ;P

SO. CUTE.
I love that this polish has glitter i've never seen in a polish before.
The addition of the snowflakes is super cute, too.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Good, but you definitely have to dig for the bigger glitters.

I think this polish is so freaking precious
and plan on wearing it again immediately!
What do you all think?

Here's 2 coats of 'Sugarplum Fairy' over 1 coat
of Sinful Colors' 'Sweet Tooth'.

'Sugarplum Fairy' is a pastel purple base filled with all things purple & pink!
Purple microglitter, medium purple and pink hexes/circles, large pink circles,
and everything in between that's holo!

I couldn't believe how much it sparkled
and how much I liked it.
It looks even better once it's on!

Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 5

Pop Culture Cosmetics- 'Jack Frost'

If you're not aware of my love affair with Pop Culture Cosmetics,
then you really need to get with the program :P
This is my current favorite indie polish maker,
and possibly my favorite ever.
The polishes are always unique and great quality.

Recently I ordered several from PCC that are winter/Christmas themed,
and here is the first of them:
'Jack Frost'.

'Jack Frost' is a clear base with blue and white micro glitter (some holo),
small light blue hexes, and large white snowflakes... which is the best part :)
Here it is pictured over Revlon's 'Dream' on 3 fingers
and Sinful Colors' 'Rain' on my ring finger.

I really don't like it against the dark blue,
but I think it looks mighty fine against the light blue :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Crelly topcoat
Formula: Pretty good!
Opacity (1-5): 1-2
Application:  Good, but you definitely have to dig out the snowflakes
Price: $4 for a mini
Get This: PCC is currently closed until Jan 2 :(

What do you guys think about this topcoat?

Pop Culture Cosmetics- 'Candy Cauldron'

Yay! Time for Halloween indies!
Most of you know that I love Pop Culture Cosmetics,
and I've recently purchased several minis from their newest Fall/Halloween themed polishes.
(see the first one here).

Continuing on,
Here's 2 coats of 'Candy Cauldron
over 2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'Orange Creme'.

'Candy Cauldron' is a light orange crelly filled with small, medium, and large green, pink, yellow, blue, and dark pink circle glitters, some with a touch of holo.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Crelly
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: You're gonna have to dig for this one to get most all of the glitters out.
Price: $4 for a mini
Get This: it's not longer available on her website or Etsy :/

What do you all think?
I actually really liked this, once it was all said and done.
Digging the glitters out kinda sucked,
but the end result sure is nice!

From the Vault- 'Anita' & 'American Pie'

Happy Wednesday, guys!
I have two throwback polishes from last year for you guys.
Here is Darling Diva Polish's 'Anita' (2 coats)
over Essie's 'Blue Rhapsody', with Milani's Red FX & Pure Ice's 'Strapless' as accent nails.

'Anita' is from DDP last year, and is a clear base with holo microglitter, tiny holo hexes, and medium red, white, & blue hexes.

You can tell the Milani somehow missed my eye & got totally clumped and gross.
I was super pleased with the Pure ICE polish, though. Reminds me of the Pixie Dust polishes that are big now :)
'Anita' is a nice little topcoat, though a little gloopy.
Still love it over the Essie though.

Next up,
Candy Lacquer's 'American Pie' from last year over Sinful Colors' 'Sugar Rush':

'American Pie' is a clear base with red & white microglitter, medium red, white, & blue hexes, and white & blue bar glitter.

I can't figure out why I've never tried this indie brand again,
because it goes on flawlessly!
(although, it looks an awful lot like the polish form yesterday, doesn't it?)

Welp,
closing the vault back for now.
STAY TUNED for my July 4th makeup in tomorrow's post!
:D

DDP- 'Home of the Brave'

I should have started them at least a week ago,
 but oh well.

Today's post is my newest indie polish purchase-
'Home of the Brave' from Darling Diva Polish!
Pictured here is 2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'Sugar Rush' & CG's 'Icicle' as accent.

'Home of the Brave' is a clear base filled with white, red, blue, & silver holo microglitter, medium red, white, & blue hex glitter, white and blue bar glitter, large white hexes, large blue and red stars, and large white hearts.
This baby is jam packed with tons of different glitters!
I loveeeee it :)

Green Oceans

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I hope everyone has a fun & relaxing day :)

Quickly,
here's my mani for the holiday:

This is 2 coats of Maybelline's 'Green with Envy' beneath 2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'Green Oceans'. I saw the latter awhile ago and HAD to scoop it up because it's just such a gorgeous flakie. Reminds me a lot of Zoya's 'Opal'!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Maybelline
Type: Creme
Formula: Eh
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Terrible. Super streaky :(
Price:  $3-$4
Get This: any local Drugstore or big retailers like Walmart

I was very disappointed with the Maybelline polish :/
I've tried a couple others of theirs and really liked them,
but this one was just a dud :/

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Flake
Formula: Pretty good!
Opacity (1-5): 1
Application: Pretty good!
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local Drugstore like Walgreens

As for 'Green Oceans',
it's AWESOME, but I think I picked a bad colored polish to be it's base.
I'm anxious to try it with a different color :)

What are your thoughts on these?

Easter egg stamping

Hey again everyone.
Hope your weekend has been awesome!
I have some silly stamping for you all today.
I'm not great at stamping,
but i've been really anxious to use some of the designs from my new Winstonia plates.

I used the same mani from yesterday because I really liked it as a background.
Here are some uneven little Easter eggs using plate W105 :)

So no matter how many times I tried,
I just could NOT get all of the egg stamp to transfer well.
Humph.
The plates are amazing, though :)

That's it for today.
I have an Easter look for you guys tomorrow, so stay tuned!

3/9/13

Watercolor Easter nail art

Hellooooooo.
I don't often do nail art because, quite frankly, i'm not that great at it.
I love pastels, though, and have been looking for a way to use them together.
I've considered doing a splatter mani,
but with Easter coming up, i thought about dying Easter eggs...
and that brought me to the idea of sponging different colors on.
The effect reminded me of how we used to dye our Easter eggs,
but it also reminds me of watercolor paint, too.

Here I just tore a makeup sponge apart, and used one piece per polish.
It didn't come out EXACTLY as I had intended,
but I still like it.

I used (all from Sugar Rush collection):
'Unicorn'
'Sugar Rush'
'Candy Coated'
'Cotton Candy'

What do you guys think of it?
Does it look more like dyed Easter eggs or watercolor?
Thanks for reading!

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Cotton Candy'

Alas! We have reached the last polish in the Sugar Rush collection.
It's taken me longer than I wanted to post all of them,
but there you have it :X

Here's 3 coats of 'Cotton Candy'!

'Cotton Candy' is a lovely, bubblegum pink creme with slight shimmer.
I'm a sucker for light pinks like this,
and the shade really is just lovely.

POLISH INFORMATION

Type: Creme
Formula: Pretty good
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Okay, pretty streaky, though :/
Price:  $1.99

What do you guys think of this polish?
What was your favorite polish from the collection?
Let me know, please! :)

nail/beauty mail & SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Candy Coated'

Hello everyone.
Sorry for the lack of posts lately,
been a super busy past several days.

First up,
I bought my first Lime Crime palette the other day,
and it came in! yay!
Here are the swatches over Too Faced's Shadow Insurance:

Also,
it's been a long time since i've bought any new stamping plates.
After seeing them on Makeup Withdrawal's IG,
I purchased my first Winstonia plates!

The box was a little beat up, but everything arrived okay.
Here are my favorites :)
Yay! Can't wait to try these out.

Finally,
here's the second to last polish from Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection-
'Candy Coated'.

'Candy Coated' is a lovely lilac creme with subtle shimmer. I'm so in love with shades of purple like this for Spring this year. So delicate and happy :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Pretty good!
Opacity (1-5): 4

February favorites!

It's that time again!
Here are my favorites from this past month:

This new lipstick is from Wet N Wild's Fergie Centerstage collection.
It's a lovely, girly pink lipstick that is perfect for spring,
and feels super soft on your lips!

*not my photo
This scent is nothing new, but it's been many years since i've used it & I decided to revisit it again this month. Herbal Essences are some of my very favorite shampoos & conditioners.
They smell fantastic & it's perfect for my long hair :)

3. Pastels (makeup & nails)

All of the pastels everywhere are definitely getting me in the mood for spring. I'm of course finishing up swatches of the Sugar Rush collection (pictured above),
and I'm beginning to dabble in pastel eye looks, too, which are some of my favorites to play with :) Can't wait!

What has been your favorite product or products from February?
Let me know! :)
