Ravens Superbowl look!

Hey guys!
Hope ya'll are enjoying the Superbowl now that the power outage is over with.
I had thought the Ravens had a for sure win,
but that break seems to have given the 49ers new energy...
anyway, go Ravens!

And here's a look I created inspired by their team colors of purple, gold, & black :)

The blending could have definitely been a little better,
but I like it okay!

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
Sugarpill's 'Poison Plum'- lid & waterline
UD's 'Black Market'- crease
UD's 'Blitz'- brow bone & waterline
UD's Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner 'Midnight Cowboy'
Covergirl Line Exact liquid eyeliner
L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara

What do you guys think?
I would have like to have been more adventurous with the eyeliners,
but I just didn't have time.
It was still fun to create, though.
GO RAVENS! :D

The Penguin Makeup Challenge- Day 3!

Hey everyone!
So i'm stoked, yet also sad, to bring you the last look for the Penguin Makeup Challenge!
I've had fun playing around and trying to come up with looks for each week.
It's given me half a mind do another makeup challenge :p
SO, for today we had to use white & another color.
I was a little indecisive about my look, so I kept adding things to it until I was happy :0

First,

Here I just used 2 colors with a little flick of white eyeliner.
BUT I decided I needed something a little more...

* sorry this is blurry :/

So I lined my upper lash line. I liked this just fine,
but I felt like I should make it a little more fun if I could.

I finally decided to add a little double wing on the eyeliner. Nothing crazy, but a little more fun than the average way I had it before.

I used:
Sugarpill's 'Tako' in inner corners & brow bone
SP's 'Buttercupcake' on rest of lid
Lime Crime's 'Lunar Sea' uniliner
Covergirl Lashblast mascara

What do you guys think?
I'm kind of on the fence about it.
It reminds me of lemonade, haha.
Ah well. It's a combo I haven't really used before,
so it was fun to play with these.

Make sure you check out all the other lovely ladies participating!

Lime Crime's Uniliner Eyeliner review

Helloooooo!
So glad it's friday,
though it means by short hiatus from school is over :/

Anyway,
some of your feedback also mentioned you wanted to see reviews.
Since it's been awhile since i'd done one,
(and being that I just got these eyeliners in the mail this week),
I figured now would be a perfect time to do one!

So here we have Lime Crime's eyeliners!

First, you'll notice the awesome packaging. This goes for ANY Lime Crime product. Their theme is so mystical and fantastical- i love it!

Though I wanted to buy the entire collection,
I could only afford two at the moment:
'Lunar Sea'

'Blue Milk'

First off, i WILL say they are much smaller than I thought they would be, but I really don't think it's going to matter.
Each of these liquid liners are beautiful and unique.
They are milky and opaque with one 'coat', sometimes it takes two.
They're so versatile- i can't wait to create some looks with them.

'Blue Milk' and 'Lunar Sea'

The only downside is that they're not very forgiving, and for people who have shaky hands (like me), this can make them very difficult to work with. But practice makes perfect :)
Still, I prefer liquid eyeliners over pencil anyday. I find that they really just mesh with my eye looks better.

LC has many other colors for sale that I hope to add to my collection soon.
You can get these and others on their website for $13.99 a piece!

Also,
don't forget to vote for the eye tutorial of your choice,
and
:)

another July 4th look & an 'All That Glitters' polish

Helloooo!
There's so many things I want to do in honor of the holiday,
i don't think i'm going to be able to do them all :(... but i'm gonna do the best I can!
Which means packing posts chock full of as much as I can, haha.
I'm taking full advantage of this week of not having to do anything!

So, without further ado, the second look I've come up with for July 4th.
(see the other one here)

*i messed up the eyeliner on the left eye, oops :/
* inside, with flash

*natural light, no flash

So I just got the white eyeliner in the mail today, and i've been waiting for it to come in so that I could use it for another look. Everything else, I just kind of randomly tried. I like the look okay, but its definitely not something I would wear out in public. It was fun to create, though :)

I used:
Lime Crime's 'Siren' on most of eyelid
Urban Decay's 'Evidence' in outer corners
Lime Crime's 'Lunar Sea' eye liner
(will be doing a review of this^ soon!)

Next up- polish!

This is 'Glitter Glory' from All That Glitters.
I've been dying to snatch up some of her stuff,
and finally I caught her shop at a good time.
This polish is CHOCK FULL of teeny red, white, and blue hexagonal glitter.
The white is matte, while the red and blue are typical glitter.

Here I used just 2 coats of 'Glitter Glory'.
ISN'T IT AWESOME?!
I absolutely love it.
This is the first polish i've had that's like this,
and now I see why everyone loves them.

SO,
what do you guys think of everything?!
let me know below,
& have a great night!

Up and coming additions!

- to my collection (hopefully)!
I've finally finished the most difficult assignments yet,
so I have a little bit of time to blog.
Unfortunately, i haven't had time to do a makeup look yet,
and most of my nails broke/peeled off after a busy weekend so they're not fit to be photographed :(

In light of these unfortunate events,
I WILL update my 'wishlist'- though they're things i'm planning on buying here within the next couple weeks or so and featuring on here :)

So i've really been eyeing some of UD new shadows.
I know a lot of people aren't a fan of them anymore because of how they've changed some of their policies and are now made in China and all that (which sucks, grant you),
but i'm not going to stop buying the brand.
Does that make me a terrible person who hates the environment?
I hope not.
ANYWAY,
here's some of the new shadows i've had my eyes on:

'Asphyxia'

'Loaded'

'Radium'

'Kush'

Have any of you tried these yet?
I'm sure i'll love them just as much as other UD shadows,
but i'm still curious what people think of them :)

ALSO,
i'm sure most of you have noticed the AWESOME additions to their company that Lime Crime has been making lately- namely in the eyeliner and nail polish departments.
Here's what i'm dying to buy now:

!!!!
So awesome.
However, this is going for $74 bucks (before tax/shipping- and that's on SALE)
so I won't be buying the whole collection.
I DO have my eye on the pale blue, pink, white, and orange though :)

Also from LC,

their yummy looking new nail polish line!
This isn't as much as the eyeliners, but the whole collection is still $40... but that's a bit easier to justify spending :x
But regardless, I love the pale blue, green, orange, and purple!

Again, if anyone has these- let me know.
I'm super curious to know what people think of them!

Anyway, hopefully i'll grab these soon...
So stay tuned!
I've definitely got some July 4th makeup looks and nail polish/art coming up in the next week or so,
along with SEVERAL new polishes I still need to swatch,
AND end of June favorites!!
yay!

Thanks for reading, guys!

everything new years!

Happy 2012, everyone!
Our last year to enjoy life before humanity is wiped off the face of the earth, right?! Woo!
;p

I rang in the new year with some great friends at a GREAT show in Nashville with a great band- Moon Taxi.

I usually never do new years resolutions, but I actually have come up with a few this year:

1. DRINK MORE WATER
Besides obvious health reasons, I really need to increase my water intake for my daughter so that my milk supply increases, also. TMI? perhaps, but still an important resolution nonetheless.

2. TAKE BETTER CARE OF MY FACE
Not only do I forget to wash off my makeup before bed on a regular basis, but i'm also way too harsh on my skin. When I DO take off my make-up (referring to eyes here) I wipe outwards under my eye instead of INWARDS. this can result in early aging/wrinkling- which i'm not too keen on. My eyes already have dark circles under them half the time (mostly due to my infant daughter, bless her) & removing make-up the wrong way isn't helping!

3. STOP BITING MY NAILS
Though I technically began this resolution a month or two ago, it's been something i've struggled with doing for years & i'm finally determined to quit.

4. FACE EVERY OPPORTUNITY/DECISION WITH FACTS AND AN OBJECTIVE (or as objective as can be) PERSPECTIVE.
Follow my mind & what's right for my daughter and myself- not my heart... this may entail some difficult choices in this upcoming year, but I will do what needs to be done & do it with the upmost confidence and certainty!

5. REGAIN MY SCHOLARSHIP/MAINTAIN GPA
I had it when I began college, then messed around for a couple years & lost it. Now, with a child, it's even more pertinent that I get it back. Im very close to doing so. Also, I've maintained either at 4.0 or 3.5 since transferring to my current college & would like to keep it that way:)

Anyway,
enough of the boring, sentimental stuff.
ONWARDS, TO THE THINGS YOU ACTUALLY CARE TO READ ABOUT!
:)

I'm by no means a fashionista, but I loved my new years outfit so much that I had to put it up here.
i wore this tank...

under this blazer.

I cinched it with a belt very similar to this (mine didn't have the rhinestones),
and paired it with thick, black leggings.

I also wore these:
which surprised even me. First of all, I don't usually like wedges. Second of all, though I don't mind this print on clothing- having it on my shoes in such an out there way isn't something i'm usually game for. But for whatever reason, whilst browsing in the shoe store these called out to me. I was halfway embarrassed to even be seen trying them on. But lo & behold I rocked them new years eve! Although I was wanting to cut my feet off by the end of the night due to standing/dancing in them for 5+ hours, I'm quite glad I went out on a limb & purchased them.

To get back to my beauty roots, I went out & purchased a little something special just to pair with this outfit:

Urban Decay's 'Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner' in 'Midnight Cowboy', coincidentally one of my favorite shadows. I used to associate glitter eyeliner with cheap, make-up looks (perhaps an unjustified comparison, but my thinking nonetheless), but boy did this change my mind. I LOVE this stuff. Though you do have to give it a few seconds to dry lest you get random glitter adhered to your eyelids, I experienced nothing but good things from this eyeliner. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised since it IS urban decay, but still :) It definitely gave my eyes the pop I was looking for with my otherwise very dark eye shadow. Something I'd definitely recommend.

I also did 'new years' nails, but I didn't get a picture of them :( I used China Glaze's 'Tinsel Town' and 'Blonde Bombshell', & they were ridiculously fun.

What do you guys think about everything? Have you ever tried the eyeliner? And any new years resolutions?? :)

Thanks for readingggggg!
