Zoya Pixie Dust in 'Thea'

So this is the second of the two Pixie Dusts I purchased recently.
I was in love with Lux,
and now here's 2 coats of Thea:

'Thea' is a "deep amethyst with an orchid flash", and it's clearly packed heavy with Pixie Dust holo glitter. I've seen this watched before & I was in love.
The purple/fuschia hybrid color is gorgeous for sure.
The sparkle of the glitter was nowhere near what I saw with Lux, though,
so that was somewhat disappointing.

It's pretty nonetheless! :)

PCC- 'Think Tink'

So here's another cute fairy polish for you today from my recent Pop Culture Cosmetics haul.
This is the most Disney fairy-esque polish in my eyes.
Here's 3 coats of 'Think Tink'!

'Think Tink' is a pastel lime green crelly filled with differently sized green & gold glitter (some holo), gold stars, and a gold shimmer. It's really lovely, and reminds me much of Tink's green outfit. This was my daughter's (who's 2) favorite one of the five :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Crelly
Formula: Good!!
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Great

'Faith, Trust, & Fairy Dust'

So if you're knowledgeable about the Disney fairies,
you know this is one of their little sayings.
When I saw that Pop Culture Cosmetics had a polish named after it,
I had to get it.

(Why this obsession with fairies? It's not my own, but my daughters-
it's just serving as inspiration right now :D)

Here's 2 (messy :/) coats over Sinful Colors' 'Sweet Nothing'.

'Faith Trust, & Fairy Dust' is a light teal jelly with variously colored & shaped circle glitters (some holo) and pink & blue stars.
It's super cute :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Jelly
Formula: Pretty good
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: Pretty good. I had to use a tooth pick to dig out some of the glitters, though.
Price: $8.50 for a full size
Get This: their Etsy site

I can't wait to show you the rest that I bought from this indie maker!
(all also fairy themed, of course).
What are your thoughts?

They've already got a ridiculously awesome looking Halloween collection out,
so be sure to check PCC out!

Not Too Polished- 'The Eyrie' & beauty mail!

Hello!
I have my final Game of Thrones polish from Not Too Polished to show you today.
Here's 2 coats of 'The Eyrie' over 1 coat of Essie's 'Bikini So Teeny'.

'The Eyrie' is a bluish-lavender jelly based filled with white micro glitter, large silver holo hexes, and giant white hexes. It does it's name justice. For those who don't know, the Eyrie (homestead of the House of Arryn) is in the North of Westeros. The castle sits super high on a cliff, and as you wind your way up to it, you eventually come through snow and then finally, high above the mountain tops around you. This polish looks exactly what the Eyrie seems to me to be!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Not Too Polished
Type: Jelly glitter
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 3-4
Application: Good!
Price: $7.50 for full size bottle
Get This: her Etsy site

I really liked this polish.
It's a unique color & went on great.
May definitely have to buy the other 2 GoT polishes she makes!

Side note,
more beauty mail finally came in today:

WOOOO! Can't wait to try those bright mattes.
You all definitely have some bright summer looks headed your way in the next month or so!
:)

ATC- 'Sunset Skies'

Happy Saturday!
I've got a happy little number for you today.
'Sunset Skies' came with Above the Curve's spring mini set.

This is 3 coats by itself.

'Sunset Skies' is a orange cream jelly base filled with pink circles, yellow, orange, & pink hexes, small white hexes, and rose & holo larger hexes. I really love the color combination (which has been a theme of all ATC polishes i've tried thus far).

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Above the Curve
Type: Glitter Jelly
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Great!
Price: $9

What do you guys think of this polish?
It's perfect for summer!

Beauty haul/mail & ATC's 'Misty Morning'

So over the past week or so,
I've had some AWESOME additions to my makeup & beauty stash.
Check it out!

!!!!!
Yeah, lots of good stuff.
I'll try to get into all of it (or most of it) within a week!

What are your thoughts on my haul?
Any products there that you've tried?

Moving on, another polish from Above the Curve's spring mini set.
Here's 2 coats of 'Misty Morning' over 1 coat of Sinful Color's 'Sugar Rush'.

'Misty Morning' is a pastel blue jelly base filled with silver micro glitter & silver hexes, iridescent shimmer, & large white hexes. I really love that this polish is supposed to mimic the sky with rain & clouds :) Lovely idea that I think translates very well.

'Just Lust'

Okay guys, i've got my very last Valentine's Day post for you.
I got almost all of them in before Thursday,  but not quite.
I'm sick of pink & red stuff, though, so i'm just ending it with this post :p
I'm ready for the pastels of Easter & Spring!

Anyway, here's 4 coats of All That Glitters' 'Just Lust'.

'Just Lust' is a bright pink jelly with microglitter, medium hexagonal glitter, micro bar glitter, & shards that are all iridescent. This was part of her Valentine's Day collection.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: All That Glitters
Type: Jelly
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: Awesome
Price:  $8
Get This: her Etsy site

I think this polish is definitely better over a base of something else.
I could reach opacity on it's own, but you can see that it just looks messy & jumbled.
Other than that, I liked it pretty well. I'm not usually a fan of jellies, but if you're going to buy one- ATG is definitely worth the price.

'Heart Burn'

Hey guys.
I've got a polish from All That Glitter's Valentine's Day collection for you today.
If you're a regular reader, you know ATG is one of my favorite indie brands :)

Here's 3 coats of 'Heart Burn'.

'Heart Burn' is a hot pink jelly base jam packed with different glitter. There's teeeeeeny circular white & black glitter, teeny tiny silver bar glitter, iridescent micro glitter, & jumbo sized white & black hearts. I really like how she used the bar glitter here. I usually hate bar glitter, but it's tiny & sparse enough that it compliments the polish very well :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: All That Glitters
Type: Glitter Jelly
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Great, but you really have to dig out the hearts.
Price:  $8

What do you guys think about this polish?
Stay tuned for several more indies! :)

A Merry Affair & blog sale info

Happy Monday!
-.-
Actually, I feel more amicable towards this monday than usual, seeing as how I don't have my horrid MWF class anymore. Be gone, loathsome professor. Mwahahahah.

Um, anyway- on to what you care about! :)
Here's the mani I wore the other night to match a burgundy skirt I wore to the company Christmas party. I've been meaning to feature both of these polishes, so I just killed two birds with one stone.

*cuticles are still scary, but not as bad as lately! Onwards and upwards!

On 4 fingers is 2 coats of Color Club's 'Winter Affair',
and on my ring finger is 2 coats of CG's 'Merry Berry' from the Holiday Joy collection.

'Winter Affair' is a deep burgundy flecked shimmer. It's so vampy! It does lean more on the purple side, but i'm okay with that. Coverage was great, formula was great.

'Merry Berry' is a glossy, berry jelly. It's very similar to Essie's 'Berry Naughty', but is just a tad bit more red. I don't usually like jellies, but this sucker went on beautifully and wore great also! :)

What do you guys think about these?
I love them!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I've still considering the blog sale,
but for someone who's never done it- it's quite a bit of work to set it up.
I don't want to bother if it's not going to be successful,
so i'm still toying with the idea.
I thought about showing a preview of the polishes in a post to even see if anyone is interested,
but I'm not sure yet.
What do you guys think?

cotton candy gradient nails

Happy Saturday!
Thank God we get a long weekend this weekend. So awesome.
So going back to my cotton candy eye post the other day,
I said I loved the color combo so much that I wanted to use it again with some nail are or something. In lieu of that, I decided to try a gradient with them.

Here's what I came up with:
(*sorry for lack of great clean up- was so over it by the time I got to my cuticles)

So, this was a slightly unsuccessful combination.
Though I LOVE the colors together, these 3 polishes just didn't mesh because their finishes were totally different, and in the end they didn't fade into each other very well at all :/

I used:
Sinful Colors' 'Cinderella'
NOPI's 'One Big Happy Fame-ily'
China Glaze's 'Pink Voltage'

So the Sinful Colors is a jelly, NOPI is a shimmer, and the CG is a neon matte... none of which looked great together. You can hardly see the purple and the China Glaze was too harsh against the other two. Something I DID like, however, was how the shimmer from 'Cinderella' and the NOPI spread over onto the CG, which did give the mani some form of consistency. Still, not my favorite that I've ever done. I love the color combo, though!

What do ya'll think?
Thanks for reading!

First deborah lippman, nail mail, & mini haul!

Alas!
In between a new class and moving, I have FINALLY found a second to blog & it couldn't come soon enough- I have quite a few exciting things for you :)

Firstly, the amazing Kaki over at Glitter Obsession nominated me to receive an Apothica gift card!! I know, right? How awesome is she? (Go check out her blog. She covers a little of everything, though mostly nails, and is quite witty :P)
Anyway, I had been wanting a DL polish for awhile but couldn't rationalize forking up the money for it's expensive price tag, so this gift card was an answer to my prayers!

I decided to buy none other than the magical 'Across the Universe'!

This is a rather sheer blue jelly base with large blue, green, and silver hexagonal glitter and dark blue microglitter. It's downright DREAMY, forrealz. My only caveat with this polish is that it IS a jelly- i'm not tooooo fond of them because they can just get gloopy every now & then, but this polish is beyond worth it.

So, uh, wait a minute... why only the 3 fingers?
WELL,
I was so overly anxious to out this on that I did so without thinking it through... like thinking of how I was about to have to pack up & move a whole apartment. So by the time I was able to take pictures, really only 3 fingers remained halfway decent looking :( But I've been so determined to just get this sucker posted that I said "what the hey", and am posting this sad little picture. The day I took this OF COURSE wasn't sunny, so this picture really doesn't do the polish justice- but it's all I could get.
So there's my disclaimer :/

I used 3 coats by itself, but this would probably work/look better over a base coat of something else (like Essie's 'Aruba Blue').

Now on to some exciting nail mail I received yesterday!
:) :) :)
This is all i'm going to post about them for now :p
But CAN'T WAIT to show you more.

**Also, thinking of using one of these in my giveaway with GaGa For Nails...
what do you think??

Lastly,
I dropped into my local RiteAid today in hopes of finding a wonderful stash of Color Club like I did at the one in Chattanooga a month or so ago...
but no Color Club :/
HOWEVER,
I did find these 3 little beauties,
two of which are completely new brand names for me.

Tada!
I've heard of the last brand, but not the first two.
So I'm anxious to try these as well!

That's about it for tonight :)

first Elixir Lacquers polish!

Woo!
Really excited for tonight's post because it's something a little different & a new favorite of mine (I feel like I say that about almost everything, but it really is :p).

I was browsing around Etsy and discovered the amazing talent of Elixir Lacquers!
I just bought one polish initially to see if I was even going to like them,
but i'm definitely going back for more.

I give you 'With a K'

Elixir Lacquers describes it as "Silver and electric violet holographic micro glitter with violet prismatic hexagon glitter, suspended in a violet jelly base"

YAY!
I really, really love this polish. I'm not usually a jelly fan because I find them to be super gloopy and blah, but this was the exact opposite. I don't know if it had to do with the concentration of glitter or what, but it applied like a dream.
I used 2 coats here with one coat of SV, & the latter really is needed in order to get that glossy finish- otherwise it looks gritty and messy.

The dimensions in this polish are dazzling. I just KNOW it's going to look amazing in the sunlight, but I couldn't wait until morning and daylight to post this :X

Purchasing from Elixir Lacquers was super easy & it shipped almost immediately. No waiting around forever here :)

What do ya'll think? Do any of the rest of you have any of their polishes?
What are your thoughts??
