Zombie Gardens!

Woo hoo! Brand new indie brand (for me) today!
I've had my eyes on some Spring-ish looking indie polishes all over Etsy lately,
and this one stuck out to me.

Here's 3 coats of Polish Revolution's 'Zombie Gardens'
over Sinful Color's 'Sugar Rush'!

'Zombie Gardens' is a bluish-grey, milky base filled with purple microglitter, light blue square microglitter, pastel green square glitter, and pastel yellow and pink large hexagonal glitter. The color combo is awesome & just screamed Spring to me. It was different than all the other polishes I'd looked at, which is one reason I liked it the most.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Polish Revolution
Type: Glitter
Formula: Fantastic!
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: Amazing! Even with 3 coats
Price:  $9
Get This: her Etsy site

This bad boy probably had one of the BEST formulas i've ever tried with an indie brand.
I was VERY impressed & can't wait to try some more :)
Have you guys tried anything from Polish Revolution?

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Sugar Rush'

Alright, finally time for the polish that bears the collection's name:
'Sugar Rush'!
Here's 3 coats.
It was cloudy today so the picture is rather lackluster :/

'Sugar Rush' is a beautiful, baby boy blue creme- no shimmer again in this one, either.
This sucker looks eerily similar to another SC polish... does it not?
....

The shade of blue is pretty much the exact same thing as in SC's 'Cinderella'.
However, the latter is of course a jelly with shimmer/micro glitter.
I think I like the creme variation of this color better, personally.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Okay, a little on the thin side
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Not that great; super streaky.
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore

What do you think?
Do you like 'Sugar Rush' or 'Cinderella' better?

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Unicorn'

Hey everyone- back to Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection today.
This polish's name makes the least sense in the context of the collection,
but it's still nice :)

Here's 2 coats of 'Unicorn'.

'Unicorn' is a delicate, pastel yellow creme. No slight shimmer in this one, either.
I typically do not like yellows on my hands because I think it often makes my nails look sickly, but this shade of yellow was juuuuuust on the cusp- it's a lovely shade!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Eh, much more thin & runny than the others :/
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Not that great; super streaky. You need AT LEAST 3 coats to reach opacity.
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore

What do you guys think?
Let me know! :)

Star Wars St. Patrick's Day

Helloooooo!
I'm taking a break from the Sugar Rush collection to do a makeup look today.
I still haven't gotten a chance to use any of my Victorian Disco pigments,
and since I bought 2 with St. Patty's day in mind-
I figured i'd go ahead and feature those :)

Here's 'Star Wars St. Patty's'.

I used:
*From L to R*
MUG's 'Sea Mist- shade over crease
VD's 'The Fett'- crease
VD's 'Yoda's Yoga Mat'- lid
UD's 'Vanilla'- browbone/highlight
NYX Jumbo pencil 'Milk'
UD's Primer Potion
L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara
Covergirl Line Exact liquid eyeliner

So this look is very straightforward- just some simple blending.
I was REALLY impressed with these VD shadows, though.
Super sparkly and just a little bit of fallout.
'Milk' & UD's Primer Potion were more than adequate as a base for them.

You can't quite see how amazing both the VD shadows are in the pictures,
but they have hints or gold and purple to them- just lovely!
Can't wait to use the rest I purchased!

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Sugar n Spice'

Hey everyone,
another quick post today because I have a million things to do :/
Here's the next polish in Sinful Colors' new spring collection- 'Sugar n Spice'!

This is 2 coats.

'Sugar n Spice' is a medium pink creme with super slight shimmer.
This is an awesome, go-to pink. Girly and easy to wear with almost anything.
Perfect for summer!

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Sweet Nothing'

Hey guys,
super short post today because I am in a hurry :o
Here's 2 coats of 'Sweet Nothing'.

'Sweet Nothing' is a medium teal creme. No shimmer in this one (some in the collection do, some don't). This is the only color in the entire collection that I don't like. Just not my thing, personally.

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Orange Cream'

First off, CONGRATS to 'Claws Up' for winning my 'hidden' giveaway!

For those of you who didn't notice,
I placed a link to a giveaway at the very end of this recent post.
I gave away the WHOLE Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection.
I wanted to give it to people that were loyal followers, however,
so you actually had to read to the bottom of the post to see it.
It was very eye- opening how few people take the time to read posts,
and i'll definitely be doing more giveaways like that in the future.
So, all is not lost if you missed out on this one.

Anyway,
here's yet another amazing polish from SC's Sugar Rush collection.
I am SO feeling the pastels right now.
This is 2 coats of 'Orange Cream'!

* Please excuse my index finger. Something (we think exzema) is breaking out on it, and skin is just peeling back like crazy. it's totally gross, but will hopefully be better soon. Sorry!

'Orange Cream' is a lovely pastel orange creme with very slight shimmer.
It totally lives up to it's name.
I don't have another polish of this color, & I LOVE it.
It's really inspiring me do to some makeup looks with pastels :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme
Formula: Okay, but a little thick & gloopy.
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good

What do you guys think?
What is your favorite polish from the Sugar Rush collection?

SC Sugar Rush Collection- 'Sweet Tooth'

Yay!
Finally time to see swatches of Sinful Colors' glorious new spring collection,
Sugar Rush.
Every polish in the collection looks just perfect & I can't wait to get to them all :)

First up is 'Sweet Tooth'. Here's 2 coats!

'Sweet Tooth' is a lovely lavender with pink undertones & a very pretty, slight shimmer!
(^ which doesn't show up on camera well, unfortunately- but still pretty!)
I'm becoming increasingly obsessed with purples lately...

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Sinful Colors
Type: Creme (?)
Formula: Pretty good, though a little thick.
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Pretty good!
Price:  $1.99
Get This: any local drugstore !

What do you guys think?
I absolutely love this color.
Stay tuned tomorrow for more swatches!

Serendipity Inspired- 'Hucklebug'

Alright, it has been WAY too long since i've done another look for my makeup series, 'Serendipity Inspired'.
(for background info on the basis of this series, go here).
I've been itching to do another one, but Christmas & Valentine's just had too much associated with it. Now that things have slowed down, I'm ready.

Today's look is based off of 'Hucklebug'.
(and this picture particularly)

The moral of this story is to learn from your mistakes, so they become lessons :)
A fine moral, indeed.

Based on the vivid colors in this picture (which came out duller than they really are),
here's the look!

Swatches:
MUG's 'Razzleberry'- waterline
unnamed blue from Sephora palette- crease
UD's 'Peace'- brow bone

UD's 'Graffiti' & unnamed green from Sephora palette- outer lid
UD's 'Penny Lane' & unnamed orange from Sephora palette- inner corner

Since the picture has mostly green & orange, I wanted to make those my predominant colors.
I'm not sure what I think about the red on my lower lash line, though.
I think it might have looked better somewhere else...
All in all, I like the look okay. Definitely a new color combo for me!
What do you guys think?
Thanks for reading!

MAKE SURE to check the end of yesterday's post for a little 'thank you' to my followers!!
;)

Stamping & drugstore haul

Hellooooooo.
I actually have some decent stamping for you today!
:O I know- it's shocking.

I've been wanting to try another Covergirl polish since I was so impressed last time.
I also half-heartedly gave stamping another go,
and i'm pleased with how it came out.
Here's 2 coats of 'Golden Opportunity' stamped with Konad plate
(I know this last one is blurry, but I wanted you to see the full effect.)

'Golden Opportunity' is a champagne gold foil. It didn't last anywhere near as long as 'Constant Candy', but it's still a great polish!
As for the stamp, i don't even like paisleys, but I found myself liking this pattern against the gold.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Covergirl
Type: Metallic Foil
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Awesome!
Price:  $5
Get This: any local drugstore or large super market like Walmart & Target

What do you guys think of the pattern & combo?

ALSO,
i gave in & purchased the entire Sinful Colors' Sugar Rush collection :P

AND some St. Patrick's Day polishes:

Can't wait to show you these!
I freaking love pastels.

ANDDDDDDDDDD,
for those of you that have actually read my post-
i have a little surprise gift for you here in this 'hidden' giveaway!
Enjoy! :)

'Just Lust'

Okay guys, i've got my very last Valentine's Day post for you.
I got almost all of them in before Thursday,  but not quite.
I'm sick of pink & red stuff, though, so i'm just ending it with this post :p
I'm ready for the pastels of Easter & Spring!

Anyway, here's 4 coats of All That Glitters' 'Just Lust'.

'Just Lust' is a bright pink jelly with microglitter, medium hexagonal glitter, micro bar glitter, & shards that are all iridescent. This was part of her Valentine's Day collection.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: All That Glitters
Type: Jelly
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: Awesome
Price:  $8
Get This: her Etsy site

I think this polish is definitely better over a base of something else.
I could reach opacity on it's own, but you can see that it just looks messy & jumbled.
Other than that, I liked it pretty well. I'm not usually a fan of jellies, but if you're going to buy one- ATG is definitely worth the price.

'Mystic Nights'

Hey guys.
Finally time for a non-Valentine's Day-related post!
After all the nail posts it's definitely time for a look.
I've been wanting to go back to my Vice palette & try some shadows I never got around to trying.

SO, here's 'Mystic Nights'.

I used:
UD Naked Skin Foundation
UD Primer Potion
L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner
'Stardust' e.l.f. eyeliner
AND (all from UD Vice Palette)

As any of you who follow my blog regularly know,
I really love to wear blues/greens/purples.
I really wanted the purple and blue to be more vivid though,
so I'll think i'll wet them & try this look again :)

What do you think, though?
Let me know! :)

'With Love'

Hello again!
Time to V-day post #2.
I've been saving this one to be posted ON Valentine's b/c it really epitomizes it for me.
Here's 1 coat of Rockstar Nails' 'With Love' over 2 coats of Zoya's 'Kiley'.

'With Love'  is a clear base packed with white, red, & black jumbo hearts.
You definitely have to go fishing with this one.
But, the overall effect is still nice.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Rockstar Nails
Type: Glitter Top Coat
Formula: Okay
Opacity (1-5): 1-
Application: Okay, DEF. have to do some fishing with this one. No other way.
Price:  $8.50
Get This: For right now, it's sold out/no longer available, but i'm sure it will come back because its been available on her site for a long time before the holiday.

What do you guys think?
Any of you have this polish or tried anything from Rockstar Nails?

'Daddy Daughter Duo'

Happy Valentine's/Single Awareness Day, readers!
Hope your day is filled with whatever you want it to be filled with.
It was on Valentine's Day 2 years ago that I found out I was pregnant :)
So this day holds a super special meaning for me.

I have a brand new indie maker for you today!
Well, new as in one i've never tried before.
Here's 4 coats of 'Daddy Daughter Duo' from Daily Lacquer!

'Daddy Daughter Duo' is a milky white base filled with very light, medium, and hot pink small hexagonal glitter, larger pink holo hex glitter, holo half moons, & pink hearts! Definitely a unique combo. I love trying new brands & fell in love with this polish when I saw it on Etsy, so i've been excited to try this one.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Daily Lacquer
Type: Glitter Creme
Formula: Great!
Opacity (1-5): 1- definitely a polish that needs building up for opacity. But it's easy to do!
Application: Great
Price:  $9
Get This: Unfortunately it's not available on her Etsy anymore :( BUT she has many others to choose from!

I was really pleased with this bad boy. I didn't have to go fishing at all, and even after building it up in 4 coats, it was hardly cake-y... OR a pain to remove! I'm very impressed with Daily Lacquer so far! She's got so many other awesome looking polishes I want to try.

What do you guys think?

'Heart Burn'

Hey guys.
I've got a polish from All That Glitter's Valentine's Day collection for you today.
If you're a regular reader, you know ATG is one of my favorite indie brands :)

Here's 3 coats of 'Heart Burn'.

'Heart Burn' is a hot pink jelly base jam packed with different glitter. There's teeeeeeny circular white & black glitter, teeny tiny silver bar glitter, iridescent micro glitter, & jumbo sized white & black hearts. I really like how she used the bar glitter here. I usually hate bar glitter, but it's tiny & sparse enough that it compliments the polish very well :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: All That Glitters
Type: Glitter Jelly
Formula: Good!
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Great, but you really have to dig out the hearts.
Price:  $8
Get This: her Etsy site

What do you guys think about this polish?
Stay tuned for several more indies! :)

'Layla' & newest V-day nail mail!

Hey!
Today's polish is one that I obviously HAD to buy,
since it's my daughter's name :)

Here's 2 coats of Zoya's 'Layla'!

'Layla' is "ultra bright medium hot pink with slight red undertones".
Basically, a fancy way of saying an awesome neon pink.
As is typical of neons, this dries matte, but a topcoat quickly fixes that.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand: Zoya
Type: Neon Creme
Formula: Good, but a little runnier than I like.
Opacity (1-5): 4
Application: Good, but some balding.
Price:  $8
Get This: Zoya.com

I LOVE the color of this polish.
However, I don't feel that it's all that different or better quality than other neon pinks that I've tried. HOWEVER, it IS named Layla- so it's obviously worth trying :)

ALSO, my V-day nail mail all came in today!
Can you guess which these are? ;P
Stay tuned the next several days to find out!

'Bubblegum' tutorial!

Hey everyone.
I've had a few people ask me about doing a tutorial for the 'Bubblegum' look,
so I obliged!
In case you didn't see the post,
this look used all unnamed pinks from a Sephora palette,
plus 'Raspberry' from BFTE.

1. On a primed lid, sweep the lightest pink of the pink trio on the inner corners outwards, using a flat shadow brush.**You'll notice a lot of fallout with the Sephora shadows,
but that will be taken care of at the end :)

2. Using a fluffy brush, sweep the lightest pastel pink from pt. 2 of the palette on brow bone.

3. Using the shadow brush again, apply the matte pink to rest of lid.

4. Using a thin liner brush, apply the darkest pink to the crease.

5. Using a different fluffy brush, blend 'Raspberry' over the crease.

6. Using a short, square, thin brush, apply shadows under waterline the same order as one lid, lightest to darkest. Also, finish blending together everything up top so it looks fluid.

7. Apply eyeliner & mascara. Also, dab a bit of foundation on a makeup sponge & swipe under both eyes with it, picking up any fallout.

Tada!

What do you guys think?
I haven't done many tutorials before,
so was this one helpful?
Let me know! :)
