Summer '13 Favorites!

So I have been realllllly bad about collecting my monthly favorites this summer and posting about them, so I decided to finally do it now-
and list my favorites from the entire summer :)

1. Sleek Ultra Matte Palette

This was the first Sleek product I ever tried,
and I LOVE IT. These mattes are super vivid and blend awesomely.
Many of them closely resemble some of my favorite shadows from Sugarpill,
so if you love the Sugarpill shadows but can't afford the price tag-
I highly recommend you buy this baby :)
Really, if you want some bright fun shadows (particularly for summer),
this palette is a must have!

2. Maybelline Vivid Lipsticks
*not my picture

So these bad boys i've already talked about a lot,
but that doesn't change the fact that they were a favorite of mine all summer long,
and they'll be yours, too.
Coming in tons of shades, these brights are smooth and gorgeous-
with a great price tag!

Neon polishes from Lush Lacquer

Lush Lacquer is one of my favorite indie makers in general,
but they really outdid themselves with their neons from this summer.
They're all gorgeous and super fun.
Check out their Etsy for more!

BFTE Cosmetics- The Rainbow Set

This awesome set I ordered at the beginning of summer,
and I could NOT get enough of these bright and beautiful shadows!
Every one has incredible shimmer & sparkle,
and they blend perfectly together.
Can't say enough good things about them or this company :)

Bath & Body Works- 'Coconut Breeze'
* not my picture

If you've been following my blog for at least a year now,
you may remember that this was part of my Favorites last summer.
The same remains today :)
This is pretty much the only fragrance I used this summer,
and it's delicious and smells SO GOOD.
Definitely recommend this one, if it's still out there.

Some are from a new collection, some aren't :)
Can't wait to show you these babies!
What's your favorite Fall polish?

*REVIEW* Bath & Body Works' 'Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin' Body Lotion

Well, Fall is finally almost here!
Since it's my favorite season, I've decided to jump into some Fall scents-
even if it is still 90 degrees outside -__-

Anyway, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is a scent I discovered last year and I decided to give it a go again this year... AND do a full review :)

About this product:
- Part of Bath & Body Works' "Exclusive new (except this scent is from last year) collection" of scents inspired by Fall and the countryside
- Blend of New England pumpkin, apple, ginger, and hints of spiced vanilla & rum
- Contains Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, & Vitamin E
- All day moisture
- Non-greasy formula so it dries quickly
- 8 fl oz bottle

Review:
As I said, I used this scent in the form of Hand Sanitizer foam last year, so I obviously like the scent. I fell much more in love with it this year, though. Aside from a new label, I think they might have tweaked it juuuuuust a tad- but it's for the better. I tend to use it most often after shaving, and just a dollop per leg leaves my body and hands smelling delicious.

PROS:
- Smells AWESOME
- Just $11
- Dries quickly, so i'm not sticky for awhile afterwards
- Definitely leaves my skin feeling moisturized

CON:
- I really don't have a con, other than I'm not sure the moisture lasts ALL day... but I mean, is that really a con? I don't think so :P

Verdict:
I mean, for $11... you can't get much better. The scent is definitely my favorite out of the "new" Fall collection. It does indeed leave my skin super moisturized and I find myself smelling my hands constantly afterwards :P This scent comes in all the sprays, scrubs, etc. that most of the Bath & Body Works scents come in, ( I also have one of the sprays and the hand sanitizer) so I definitely recommend stocking this scent all over your house for a fantastically delicious Fall scent :)

RATING (OUT OF !0): 10

PPC- 'Fairy Tales'

Alright everyone, this is my LAST fairy themed polish.
If you remember the first one,
you'll see that the two are verrrry similar.

Here's 2 coats of 'Fairy Tales' over Essie's 'In the Cab-ana'.

'Fairy Tales' is a "minty blue crelly filled" with circle glitters of all sizes and colored in either blue, green, hot pink, and light pink. It went over 'In the Cab-ana' nicely.

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Crelly
Formula: Pretty good!
Opacity (1-5): 2-3
Application: Good, but had to dig a bit for some of the bigger glitters.
Price: $8.50 on their Etsy

Maybelline- Totally Toffee

So as promised, I have a lovely Fall lipstick for you today.
We are quickly approaching the Fall season, and my plethora of brights ain't gonna cut it lipwise anymore.
Being that Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand for lipsticks,
I snagged this beauty:

It's a gorgeous toffee-toupe shade.

Once on, I noticed it has a hint of shimmer that I really loved.
It's smooth and neutral, and can go with almost anything.
This is a GREAT basic Fall lipstick to have for the upcoming season.
I highly recommend!

What do you guys think?
What's your favorite Fall lipstick?

Unicorn Days- look w/ Newest SYN Cosmetics Shadows

So I've been meaning to use some more of my most recent shadows from SYN Cosmetics,
and I finally got some time to play around with the rest of them.
I came up with a whimsy look that reminded me of a unicorn for some reason?

It's a little hard to see, but that's a mint green shadow on the lid :)

I used:
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
SYN Cosmetics' 'Faded '- lid
UD's 'Ransom' & SC's 'Pandora- crease
UD's 'Ransom'- waterline
SYN Cosmetics' 'Contempt'- highlight over crease/brow bone

For whatever reason, the combo of the mint green and purple reminded me of something whimsy and mysterious.
What do you guys think?
I wish it translated in these pictures like it did in reality.
That mint green shadow is killer!
And of course, there's A TON of sparkle with SYN Cosmetics.
Thus one of the reasons why I love the company! :)

PCC- 'Pixie Dusk'

Tired of the fairy polishes yet?
Don't worry, there's still 2 more :)
Here's 1 coat of 'Fairy Dusk' over 2 coats of Sinful Colors' 'Candy Coated'.

'Fairy Dusk' is a "pale lavender crelly with a gold sparkle and filled with gold and lavender glitter. There's hints of holo in here, too :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Crelly
Formula: Eh. It got clumpy realllly fast, after barely being used :/
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Eh.
Price: $8.50 on their Etsy
Get This: their Etsy site

This polish looked fantastic over 'Candy Coated'.
I like how 'Fairy Dusk' looks once on, especially the subtle gold shimmer.
However, I did NOT love the consistency of it :(
Not sure why it was so clumpy; none of the other PCC polishes i've tried have been that way.
Either way, it's a cute polish with a super cute name!

Jewelspiration

So I recently got these super pretty pair of earrings,
and their colors really inspired me.
So much so that I decided to create a look based on them!

Sorry for the crappy picture :/
If you can't tell, it's an almost watercolor design with lime green, dark blue, purple, light blue, and hints of orange, pink, and black.

I created an easy and straightforward look.

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
UD's 'Hot Pants', Lime Crime's 'Seahorse Discourse' & 'Coral of the Story'- lid
UD's 'Black Market' & 'Ransom '- crease
UD's 'Peace'- waterline
Maybelline mascara
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner

Like I said, easy and straightforward look,
but I really wanted to try the colors together.
All in all, I liked it!
What do you guys think of the color combo?
Would you wear it out?

PCC- 'Pixie Dust'

Today's fairy polish is my favorite from the 5 that I bought from Pop Culture Cosmetics.
Here's 1 coat of 'Pixie Dust' over 2 coats of Zoya's 'Miley'.

'Pixie Dust' is a "milky crelly... filled with iridescent and pastel colored glitters in various sizes and shapes, including adorable little stars and hearts!

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Crelly
Formula: Good!!
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: Great
Price: $8.00 for a full size on their website, $8.50 on their Etsy
Get This: their webpage

I really love the whimsical nature about this polish.
The iridescent glitter is my favorite.
It looks adorable on a neutral or bare nail,
but I really liked it best over the soft 'Miley' :)
What do you think?

PCC- 'Think Tink'

So here's another cute fairy polish for you today from my recent Pop Culture Cosmetics haul.
This is the most Disney fairy-esque polish in my eyes.
Here's 3 coats of 'Think Tink'!

'Think Tink' is a pastel lime green crelly filled with differently sized green & gold glitter (some holo), gold stars, and a gold shimmer. It's really lovely, and reminds me much of Tink's green outfit. This was my daughter's (who's 2) favorite one of the five :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Crelly
Formula: Good!!
Opacity (1-5): 3
Application: Great
Price: $8.50 for a full size

What do you think of this pretty little number?

Skyrim Makeup Series- Solitude

Ok guys, the next Hold in my series is Solitude.
This is the capital city of Skyrim and one of the richest regions.
It's home to one of Skyrim's chief ports and is known for shipbuilding and trading.

In the far right of this picture, you can see the Blue Palace that houses much of the royalty in Solitude. This Hold is also home to the Thalmor and Bard's College.

Okay, so based on the location of being along the coast, the shipbuilding, and the luxurious royalty that lives there, I created my Solitude inspired look:

I used:
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance
SYN Cosmetics' 'Synfused'- brow bone
SYN Cosmetics' 'Delusion', UD's 'Evidence' & unnamed brown matte from Sephora- crease
MUG's 'Sea Mist', SYN Cosmetics' 'Savage', UD's 'Copper' & 'Smog'- lid
Covergirl Line Exact eyeliner
Maybelline mascara

WELP, i freaking love this look.
I wasn't sure how I was going to translate the Hold at first,
but as I played with it, I really grew to like it immensely.
It's a color combo that I haven't really worn before,
and I like it!
What are your thoughts?

Pacific Blues

In lieu of not having time to do looks/nails the past few days,
I've decided to post a look that I did awhile ago that I still like,
even if my skill has increased a little lately ;P

Anyway, the ocean was my inspiration for this look,
particularly the Pacific.
It just seems a deeper, richer blue much of the time.

Unfortunately, this was so long ago that I can't remember every one of the shadows I used.
BUT, I know 90% of them were from Urban Decay's 15 Anniversary palette :)
In particular 'Midnight 15' & 'Deep End'.

Regardless, I love the blues and shimmer that UD gives here.
Other than that, this is a straightforward look blending wise and everything.
What do you guys think?

'Faith, Trust, & Fairy Dust'

So if you're knowledgeable about the Disney fairies,
you know this is one of their little sayings.
When I saw that Pop Culture Cosmetics had a polish named after it,
I had to get it.

(Why this obsession with fairies? It's not my own, but my daughters-
it's just serving as inspiration right now :D)

Here's 2 (messy :/) coats over Sinful Colors' 'Sweet Nothing'.

'Faith Trust, & Fairy Dust' is a light teal jelly with variously colored & shaped circle glitters (some holo) and pink & blue stars.
It's super cute :)

POLISH INFORMATION
Brand:  Pop Culture Cosmetics
Type: Glitter Jelly
Formula: Pretty good
Opacity (1-5): 2
Application: Pretty good. I had to use a tooth pick to dig out some of the glitters, though.
Price: $8.50 for a full size
Get This: their Etsy site

I can't wait to show you the rest that I bought from this indie maker!
(all also fairy themed, of course).
What are your thoughts?

They've already got a ridiculously awesome looking Halloween collection out,
so be sure to check PCC out!

Bright 80's Look

So a couple weeks ago,
my work had a tacky 80's party.
I had a crazy/colorful getup,
but of course I had to have makeup that matched.
I played around with a color combo similar to that of the leggings I was wearing,
and came up with something I actually liked.
Here it is!

I used:
UD's Primer Potion
neon yellow from Sleek Acid palette, UD's 'Peace', & 'Graffiti'- lid
UD's 'Black Market'- crease
UD's 'Fishnet'- waterline

So obviously the matte neon yellow didn't blend well into the rest of the shadows,
but other than that, I liked it.
Esp. the color combo.
It's bright & fun :)
'Peace' & 'Graffiti' are some of my ALL TIME favorite UD shadows ever :P

What do you think?

Nail Mail & a look with new Wet N Wild trio

So I recently discovered Pop Culture Cosmetics & their amazinggggg polishes.
When I saw that they had a collection centered around fairies,
I knew that I obviously had to buy at least some of them!

They had a great deal on choose 5 minis,
So I went with that.
Be sure to stay tuned for these gorgeous bad boys in the near future!

Anyways, onwards to the look.
If you saw the post the other day,
I recent;y scooped up a couple of the new Wet N Wild trios.
Today I did a look with 'I'm Seeing Triples!'

I tried to do the look according to how the trio suggested initially,
just out of curiosity.
Here's what I got:

Hooray!
I really loved these shadows.
I couldn't believe how pigmented they were!
Granted, I did use NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk as a primer, but still...
Also, they blended wonderfully together!
Fantastic quality for the price.
Can't wait to try the rest!

What are your thoughts?
