first attempt at (sloppy) nail art!

happy friday!
We got a lovely little dusting of snow this afternoon which was a nice finish for the week :)

So my nails are still a work in progress, but they're finally kind of long enough to begin doing some nail art! My first passion is and always  will be make-up, but as most of you are nail gurus I figured I should hop on the bandwagon at least every now and then, & give it a go :r

So here's my first awkward attempt at nail art:
* did my right thumb upside down :x oops

I've seen this design on several blogs & websites and figured it would be the first one I tried, since it seemed easy enough.

So I know there are several problems with this.
1) I've still got paint on my hands, but I took the picture as soon as I finished in case it got messed up soon afterwards (like it usually does).
2) The thumb just sucks- pacman is much too small and hardly a nice circle shape.
3) My cuticles are super dry and crappy looking, but it's been quite cold and very windy here lately :/
4) Let's not even go into the paint job.... but I really just wanted to see if I could even do the nail art part before I worried about how pretty it was :x

Despite all that, I think it's really fun. I had a great time doing it. All I used was a toothpick and a striper (aside from the normal polish brush).

The colors I used (from pinky to thumb) were:
NOPI's 'Kourt is Red-y for a Pedi'
Zoya's 'Robyn'
China Glaze's 'Four Leaf Clover'
CG's 'Rich & Famous'
Essie's 'Funky Limelight
SoEasy's nail art paint in black and white

Anyway, there you have it.
I've definitely got a long way to go,
but I think it came out fairly well :)

  1. i think this is totally awesome! i think you did a great job!

    1. lololol, thanks! It's totally harder than I thought it would be & took forever, haha. probably doesn't help that I basically have Parkinson's, my hands shake so bad. ah well!

  2. Not bad, girl! You should have used your new dotting tools for the eyes, though! It would have been easier. But overall they're cute!

    1. thanks, bestie! I shall try that next time, I think. I tried the new nail brush I got but it was rather useless. Probably because i'm such a freaking noob :x

I enjoy reading & appreciate any and all comments! This whole blog is still a work in progress and i'm learning more about the nail/beauty world everyday... I appreciate any feedback & knowledge you provide! :)
